Influence of Various Earth-Retaining Walls on the Dynamic Response Comparison Based on 3D Modeling

The present work aims to assess earthquake-induced earth-retaining(er)wall *** study is on the dynamics analysis of various earth-retaining wall designs in hollow precast concrete panels,reinforcement concrete facing panels,and gravity-type earth-retaining *** finite element(FE)simulations utilized a 3D plane strain condition to model full-scale er walls and numerous nonlinear dynamics *** seismic performance of differentmodels,which includes reinforcement concrete panels and gravity-type and hollowprecast concrete er walls,was simulated and examined using the FE *** also displays comparative studies such as stress distribution,deflection of the wall,acceleration across the wall height,lateral wall displacement,lateral wall pressure,and backfill plastic *** components of the created er walls were found throughout this research *** is a granular reinforcement backfill,while the other is a wall-facing panel and base *** dynamic response effects of varied earth-retaining walls have also been *** was discovered that the facing panel of the model significantly impacts the earthquake-induced displacement of er *** proposed analytical model’s validity has been evaluated and compared with the reinforcement concrete facing panels,gravity-type er wall,scientifically available data,and American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials(AASHTO)guidelines results based on FE *** results of the observations indicate that the hollow prefabricated concrete er wall is the most feasible option due to its lower displacement and high-stress distribution compared to the two *** methodology and results of this study establish standards for future analogous investigations and professionals,particularly in light of the increasing computational capabilities of desktop computers.

Niobium telluride(NbTe_(2)),a kind of few-layer two-dimensional(2D)transition metal dichalcogenides(TMDs)material,has been theoretically predicted with nonlinear absorption properties and excellent optical ***,we experimentally demonstrated an er-doped fiber(EDF)laser based NbTe_(2)as saturable absorber(SA).Few-layer NbTe_(2)nanosheets were successfully prepared by adopting the commonly used liquid-phase exfoliation(LPE)*** nonlinear optical response of highly stable few-layer NbTe_(2)was investigated through an open-aperture Z-scan laser measurement,the nonlinear absorption coefficient was 2.45×10^(-11)m/*** Q-switched and mode-locked operation centered at 1559 nm were recorded based on NbTe_(2)*** pulse duration was varied from 4.88 ms to 1.75 ms,and the adjustable range of repetition frequency is changed from 44.01 kHz to 64.12 kHz in passively Q-switched ***,a constant repetition rate of 5.33 MHz and pulse width of 2.67 ps were observed in mode-locked *** experimental results fully reveal the nonlinear optical prop-erties of NbTe_(2)used in pulsed fiber lasers and broaden its ultrafast applications in the optics field.

Current approaches in treatment of triple-negative breast cancer

Triple-negative breast cancer(TNBC) is diagnosed more frequently in younger and premenopausal women and is highly prevalent in African American women. TNBC is a term derived from tumors that are characterized by the absence of er, Pg R, and Her2. So patients with TNBC do not benefit from hormonal or trastuzumab-based therapies. TNBCs are biologically aggressive, although some reports suggest that they respond to chemotherapy better than other types of breast cancer, prognosis remains poor. This is due to: shortened disease-free interval in the adjuvant and neoadjuvant setting and a more aggressive course in the metastatic setting.

Microstructure and Mechanical Properties of Cold Metal Transfer Welding Similar and Dissimilar Aluminum Alloys

Integrating structures made from aluminum alloys in automotive industry requires a large amount of joining. As a consequence, the properties of the joints have a significant influence on the overall performance of the whole structure. Robot cold metal transfer welding is a relatively new joining technique and has been used in this work to join 6082-T4 and 5182-O aluminum alloy sheets by using er5356 and er4043 filler metals. Microstructure characterization was performed by optical microscopy and energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy, and the mechanical properties were measured by tensile and hardness tests. A correlation is made between welding variables, mechanical properties and the microstructure of welded joints. Results indicate that robot cold metal transfer welding provides good joint efficiency with high welding speed, good tensile strength, and ductility. Owing to the low heat input of robot cold metal transfer welding process, the heat affected zone microstructure was quite similar to base metals, and weld metal microstructure was the controlling factor of joint efficiency. The best performing were the 5182/5182 joints welded with er5356 and these had mechanical property coefficients of 100%, 98%, and 85% for yield strength, ultimate tensile strength, and elongation, respectively.

The present work investigates the effect of filler metals and heat input on weld bead geometry and mechanical properties of alloy316 welded by using ***309 L,er316 L and erNi Cr Mo-3 filler metals,are applied to study their effect on the *** defects are examined using radiographic *** mechanical properties of welds are evaluated through uniaxial testing,hardness measuring,and bending *** mechanical properties and cooling rate decrease with increasing heat *** strength,yield stress and percentage elongation of weldments using three fillers are *** results are obtained using erNi Cr ***,weld nugget area,cooling time and solidification time increases with increasing heat ***,applying bending test on weld samples,cracks,tearing and surface defects are not observed.

Gain Properties of Triply-Doped Graphene-Insulator-Graphene Nanosheet Waveguide

er^(3+)-Tm^(3+)-Pr^(3+)triply-doped graphene-glass-graphene(GGG) nanosheet waveguide amplifier, which is a promising candidate for integrated photonic devices, is modelled and numerically analyzed. The designed waveguide is composed of a triply-doped tellurite glass core. The core is sandwiched between two graphene *** rate and power propagation equations of a heterogeneous multi-level laser medium are set up and solved numerically to study the effects of waveguide length and active ion concentrations on amplifier performance at five different input signal wavelengths(1.310, 1.470, 1.530, 1.600 and 1.650 μm). The analytical results show that rareearth ion dopant concentrations at an order of 10^(26) ion/m^3, waveguide length at 0.1 m and pump power at 100 m W can amplify 1.530 and 1.600 μm input signals with 1 μW power up to approximately 20.0 and 24.0 dB ***-difference time-domain(FDTD) simulation results show that mode field radius of GGG waveguide is smaller than that of silicon waveguide. Consequently, GGG waveguide with the same pump and signal power and the same gain-medium length can produce higher gain than silicon waveguide.

Water use efficiency and yield of winter wheat under different irrigation regimes in a semi-arid region

In irrigation schemes under rotational water supply in semiarid region, the water allocation and irrigation scheduling are often based on a fixed-area proportionate water depth with every irrigation cycle irrespective of crops and their growth stages, for an equitable water supply. An experiment was conducted during the 2004- 2005 season in Haouz irrigated area in Morocco, which objective was i) to evaluate the effects of the surface irrigation scheduling method (existing rule) adopted by the irrigation agency on winter wheat production compared to a full irrigation method and ii) to evaluate drip irrigation versus surface irrigation impacts on water saving and yield of winter wheat. The methodology was based on the FAO-56 dual approach for the surface irrigation scheduling. Ground measurements of the Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI) were used to derive the basal crop coefficient and the vegetation fraction cover. The simple FAO-56 approach was used for drip irrigation scheduling. For surface irrigation, the existing rule approach resulted in yield and WUE reductions of 22% and 15%, respectively, compared with the optimized irrigation scheduling proposed by the FAO-56 for full irrigation treatment. This revealed the negative effects of the irrigation schedules adopted in irrigation schemes under rotational water supply on crops productivity. It was also demon-strated that drip irrigation applied to wheat was more efficient with 20% of water saving in comparison with surface irrigation (full irrigation treatment). Drip irrigation gives also higher wheat yield compared to surface irrigation (+28% and +52% for full irrigation and existing rule treatments respectively). The same improvement was observed for water use efficiency (+24 and +59% respectively).

The emergence of artificial intelligence has represented great potential in solving a wide range of complex ***,traditional general-purpose chips based on von Neumann architectures face the“memory wall”problem when applied in artificial intelligence *** on the efficiency of the human brain,many intelligent neuromorphic chips have been proposed to emulate its working mechanism and neuron-synapse *** the emergence of spiking-based neuromorphic chips,the computation and energy efficiency of such devices could be enhanced by integrating a variety of features inspired by the biological *** with the rapid development of neuromorphic chips,it is of great importance to quickly initiate the investigation of the electromagnetic interference and signal integrity issues related to neuromorphic chips for both CMOS-based and memristor-based artificial intelligence integrated ***,this paper provides a review of neuromorphic circuit design and algorithms in terms of electromagnetic issues and opportunities with a focus on signal integrity issues,modeling,and ***,the heterogeneous structures of neuromorphic circuits and other circuits,such as memory arrays and sensors using different integration technologies,are also reviewed,and locations where signal integrity might be compromised are ***,we provide future trends in electromagnetic interference and signal integrity and outline prospects for upcoming neuromorphic devices.

Microbial detoxification of metalaxyl in aquatic system

Four microorganisms, Pseudomonas sp. （er2）, Aspergillus niger （er6）, Cladosporium herbarum （er4） and Penicilluim sp. （er3）, were isolated from cucumber leaves previously treated with metalaxyl using enrichment technique. These isolates were evaluated for detoxification of metalaxyl at the recommended dose level in aquatic system. The effect of pH and temperature on the growth ability of the tested isolates was also investigated by measuring the intracellular protein and mycelia dry weight for bacterial and fungal isolates, respectively. Moreover, the toxicity of metalaxyl after 28 d of treatment with the tested isolates was evaluated to confirm the complete removal of any toxic materials （metalaxyl and its metabolites）. The results showed that the optimum degree pH for the growth of metalaxyl degrading isolates （bacterial and fungal isolates） was 7. The temperature 30℃ appeared to be the optimum degree for the growth of either fungal or bacterial isolates. The results showed that Pseudomonas sp. （er2） was the most effective isolate in metalaxyl degradation followed by Aspergillus niger （er6）, Cladosporium herbarum （er4） and Penicilluim sp. （er3）, respectively. There is no toxicity of metalaxyl detected in the supematant after 28 d of treatment with Pseudomonas sp. （er2）. The results suggest that bioremediation by Pseudomonas sp. （er2） isolate was considered to be effective method for detoxification of metalaxyl in aqueous media.
