Introduction: Little is known through the literature about dental status of patients seen in cardiology department, motivating this study which aims to assess most dental indices of outpatients and the need for periodontal treatment. Methodology: It was a cross-sectional study from November 2016 to April 2017 in the cardiology outpatient unit of the University Hospital Gabriel Touré (UH-GT) in bamako. Included were all patients with minimum 24 teeth and willing to be involved in the study. History, cardiovascular parameters and dental examination by a resident in Odontostomatology were performed for each patient. Data were analyzed using SPSS 18, quantitative as means and standard deviation (SD) and categorical as proportions. Khi-2 Test, analysis of variance were applied with a significance level set at 0.05. All patients give their verbal consent after being informed about the procedures in the study. Results: Our sample involved 100 patients (66% female, mean age of 54.12 ± 16.150 and patients ≥ 60 years most represented with 50% for male and 37.9 for female patients. Tooth brush use was practiced by 100% and 98.5% respectively for male and female patients and twice daily brushing by 97.1% of male and 97% of female patients. Brushing duration was less than 3 minutes for 35.3% and 31.8% of respectively male and female patients. Plaque index and calculus index were in the male group with respectively 0.79 and 1.06 for male and 0.63 and 0.79 for female (p = 0.047 and 0.020). Mean Decayed Missed and Filled Teeth (DFMT) index showed a significantly increase from 0.22 in the age group under 30 to 0.68 for that other 60 years. Only 2.9% and 9.1% of respectively male and female patients had community paradontal index for treatment needs (CPITN) classe 0. The need for treatment was TN1 meaning instruction to an oral cavity hygiene, similar for both sex (55.9 and 57.6 respectively for male and female patients) and highest in the age-group 30 - 44 increased to 70%. New information and communication technologies have led to the emergence of new techniques in our daily lives. Indeed, in topography, a lightning development of new techniques and new devices has been noticed. This development has given rise to a multitude of choices of devices and various classes of precision. This implies that the decision-makers have to study the adequate equipment and the appropriate technique according to the topographic task to be realized. The objective is not to compare GNSS and topographic techniques, but to point out the contribution of the Global Navigation Satelite System (GNSS) techniques of topographic work. Thus, a theoretical study with a critical eye on the scientific principle of calculating the third topographic dimension followed by a leveling campaign, Real Time Kinematic (RTK) surveys will be used in order to be able to compare and interpret the result from these campaigns. The study of the difference resulting from the practical campaigns will allow us to identify the contribution of GNSS technology.

There has been a significant interest of researchers to combine different schemes focused on optimizing energy performance while developing aMAC protocol for Wireless Sensor Networks(WSNs).In this paper,we propose to integrate two cross-layer schemes:dynamic channel polling and packet concatenation using a recent asynchronous MAC protocol“Adaptive&Dynamic Polling MAC”(ADPMAC).ADP-MAC dynamically selects the polling interval distribution based on characterization of incoming traffic patterns using Coefficient of variation(CV).Packet Concatenation(PC)refers to combining the individually generated data packets into a single super packet and sending it at the polling ***,the Block Acknowledgement(ba)scheme has been developed for ADP-MAC to work in conjunction with the packet *** proposed schemes have been implemented in Tiny-OS for Mica2 platform and Avrora emulator has been used for conducting *** results have revealed that the performance both in terms of energy&packet loss improves when ADP-MAC is used in conjunction with the additional features of PC&***,the proposed scheme has been compared with a stateof-art packet concatenation primitive PiP(Packet-in-Packet).It has been observed that ADP-MAC supersedes the performance of PiP in terms of PDR(Packet Delivery Ratio)due to better management of synchronization between source and sink.

Chronic Kidney Disease in Sub-Saharan Africans: A Study of 462 Patients

Chronic kidney disease is a global public health problem due to its increasing prevalence as well as its main risk factors such as hypertension and diabetes. However, in Africa, few studies have been done on chronic kidney disease. The aim of our study is to describe the epidemiological, clinical, paraclinical and therapeutic aspects of chronic kidney disease. It was a retrospective and descriptive study carried out from the first of January 2004 to the 31st of December 2013 at Principal hospital in Dakar. Records of any patient aged 18 and over with chronic kidney disease were included. Chronic kidney disease was defined according to the KDIGO 2012 recommendations. Among the 8873 patient records used during our study, 462 presented with chronic kidney disease, which was a hospital prevalence of 5.2%. The sex ratio was 1.61. The mean age of the patients was 58.37 ± 19.97 years. There were 75.32% of the patients who were aged 50 and over. The mean serum creatinine was 49.14 ± 56.83. The mean glomerular filtration rate was 27.47 ± 19.86 ml/min/1.73 m2. Chronic renal failure was diagnosed in 92% of patients, including 34.9% in the end-stage of the renal disease. The mean proteinuria was 3.07 ± 4.92 g/24 h. Leukocyturia was present in 34.17% of patients. Hematuria was present in 25% of patients. Hypertension and diabetes were the most common causes, found in 61.25% and 35.93% of patients, respectively. Hemodialysis was performed in 49 patients. Peritoneal dialysis was performed in 2 patients. One patient had undergone a kidney transplant. This study establishes the relatively high prevalence of chronic kidney disease and its risk factors including hypertension and diabetes. Objective: The aim of the study was to evaluate the effect of platelet rich growth factors (PRGFs) in treatment of temporomandibular joint disc displacement. Materials and Methods: The study subjects included 8 females having bilateral anterior disc displacement with reduction and 1 female having bilateral anterior disc displacement without reduction with the age range between 20 - 35 years. The process of obtaining PRGFs was carried out following the Anitua Technique. Results: Clinical parameters of Interincisal distance, Lateral excursion of mandible using digital caliper in millimeters and Visual Analogue Scale (VAS 0/10) for pain intensity score were used. All of these parameters were running through the intervals of two, four, and eight weeks till the end of the follow-up period at twenty-six weeks (six months). The participated patients showed the clinical improvement in the different clinical statuses such as interincisal distance;lateral excursion of mandible and Pain Score. Conclusion: the study reported early efficacy of PRGFs after the arthrocentesis of the joint in treatment of TMJ disc displacement, and according to our results, the injection of PRGFs could be a possible alternative treatment for patients who did not respond to standard treatment.

Pakistan is rich in coal resources,which amount to around 186 billion *** Paleocene Padhrar and Darra Adam Khel coalfields are located in the Central Salt Range Punjab Province and the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province,Pakistan,*** coal has not been studied in detail and the Darra Adam Khel coalfields are newlydiscovered,so no research has been done,due to security *** this study,an attempt has been made to study the geochemical and mineralogical characteristics of the Padhrar and Darra Adam Khel coals,in order to learn about the coal quality,element enrichment mechanism,sedimentary medium conditions and potentially valuable elements for coal *** Padhrar and Darra Adam Khel coals are low to medium ash,low moisture content,high in volatiles and high total sulfur *** vitrinite reflectance in Darra Adam Khel coal is higher than in Padhrar coal,indicating either a greater burial depth or the effects of Himalayan *** vitrinite content is dominant in the Padhrar and Darra Adam Khel coals,followed by inertinite and liptinite,the major minerals including quartz,clay minerals,calcite and *** trace elements Ni,As,Be Zn,Ge,Mo,Ta,W,Co and Nb,Sn,Hf,Ta,Pb,Th,Cd,In,Be,V,Cr,Zr,Ag,Li,W and Co are concentrated in some of the Padhrar and Darra Adam Khel coal samples,*** Padhrar coal shows positive Ce,Eu and Gd anomalies,with most of the Darra Adam Khel coal showing negative Ce,Eu and positive Gd anomalies with high *** Al2O3/TiO2 values indicate that the sediment source of the Padhrar and Darra Adam Khel coals is mostly related to intermediate igneous *** Sr/ba,SiO2+Al2O3,Fe2O3+CaO+MgO/SiO2+Al2O3 and high sulfur content in the Padhrar and Darra Adam Khel coals indicate epithermal and marine water influence with a tidal flat,coal-forming environment and a deltaic coal-forming environment,respectively.

With the obvious throughput shortage in traditional cellular radio networks,Device-to-Device(D2D)communications has gained a lot of attention to improve the utilization,capacity and channel performance of nextgeneration *** this paper,we study a joint consideration of power and channel allocation based on genetic algorithm as a promising direction to expand the overall network capacity for D2D underlaied cellular *** genetic based algorithm targets allocating more suitable channels to D2D users and finding the optimal transmit powers for all D2D links and cellular users efficiently,aiming to maximize the overall system throughput of D2D underlaied cellular network with minimum interference level,while satisfying the required quality of service QoS of each *** simulation results show that our proposed approach has an advantage in terms of maximizing the overall system utilization than fixed,random,baT algorithm(ba)and Particle Swarm Optimization(PSO)based power allocation schemes.
