Experimental Investigation and modelling for the Optimisation of Conduction Cooled HTS Hybrid Current Leads for SmES

It′s important that HTS tapes have lower thermal conductivity and higher transversal resistivity in order to reduce the heat leaks conducted along the tapes and AC losses in the high temperature superconducting system conduction cooled by Gm coolers. This paper presents an experimental investigation into the effects of pure Ag and AgAu alloys sheath materials on the properties of Bi(2223) multifilamentary tapes and the optimisation of conduction cooled hybrid current leads made from copper and Bi(2223)/Ag or Bi(2223)/AgAu tapes. The thermal conductivity of the tapes were measured by cryogenic steady heat flux method and the resistance was measured by using standard dC four probe method at low temperature. The results showed that the reduction of thermal conductivity by the addition of Au into the sheath material of Bi(2223) tapes was 65 0 0, 75 0 0 and 85 0 0 lower than that of pure Ag sheathed Bi(2223) tapes and the increase of resistivity was 4.9 , 10 and 19.4 times higher than that of pure Ag for the addition of 2.2 0 0, 5.7 0 0 and 10.7 0 0Au(atom ratio) respectively. And the study also attempts to optimise thermodynamically the conduction cooled hybrid current lead by using a developed model, which took the irreversibility of commercial Gm coolers, the contact resistance and thermal conductance into account. Predictions from the model showed that AgAu alloys were suitable candidate materials to replace Ag as sheath material of Bi(2223) tapes applied in HTS current leads. In addition, Bi(2223)/AgAu was a suitable material to be applied as the HTS section of hybrid current leads in conduction cooled superconducting electric systems.

In this paper, we explored the structural, elastic and mechanical properties of the strongly correlated electron systems, intermetallic Ln-Au（Ln = Ce, Pr, Nd, Gd, Tb, dy, Ho, Er, Tm, Yb, Lu） in cubic structure,using PF-LAPW method within the density functional theory. Structural properties of these intermetallics were investigated by treating the exchange-correlation potential with the GGA-PBE, GGA-PBEsol and GGA ＋ U. The effectiveness of the U for the structural properties as compared to other methods confirms the strong correlated nature of these compounds and the calculated lattice constants endorse the divalency of Yb. The results demonstrate the stable cubic CsCl structure of these compounds. Bulk modulus, Young＇s modulus, shear modulus, B/G ratio, Cauchy pressure, Poisson＇s ratio, anisotropic ratio,Kleinman parameters and Lame＇s coefficients were studied using the PBEsol to evaluate their importance in various types of engineering applications. The most prominent features of these compounds are their ductility, very high melting points, resistance to corrosion, and anisotropic nature.

Solar radiophysics is a rapidly developing branch of solar physics and plasma astrophysics. Solar radiophysics has the goal of analyzing observations of radio emissions from the Sun and understanding basic physical processes operating in quiet and active regions of the solar corona. In the near future, the commissioning of a new generation of solar radio observational facilities, which include the Chinese Spectral Radio Heliograph（CSRH） and the upgrade of the Siberian Solar Radio Telescope（SSRT）, and the beginning of solar observations with the Atacama Large millimeter/submillimeter Array（ALmA）, is expected to bring us new breakthrough results of a transformative nature. The marie-Curie International Research Staff Exchange（mC IRSES） “RadioSun” international network aims to create a solid foundation for the successful exploitation of upcoming solar radio observational facilities, as well as intensive use of the existing observational tools, advanced theoretical modeling of relevant physical processes and observables, and training a new generation of solar radio physicists. The RadioSun network links research teams from China,Czech Republic, Poland, Russia and the UK. This mini-volume presents research papers based on invited reviews and contributed talks at the 1st RadioSun workshop in China. These papers cover a broad range of research topics and include recent observational and theoretical advances in solar radiophysics, mHd seismology of the solar corona, physics of solar flares, generation of radio emission, numerical modeling of mHd and plasma physics processes, charged-particle acceleration and novel instrumentation.

A photometric study of two neglected eclipsing binaries

We present the first BVR photometry,period variation and photometric light curve analysis of two poorly studied eclipsing binaries,V1321 Cyg and CR *** were carried out from November 2017 to January 2020 at the observatory of Uzhhorod National *** variations were studied using all available early published as well as our minima *** used the newly developed ELIS a code for the light curve analysis and determination of photometric parameters for both *** found that V1321 Cyg is a close detached eclipsing system with a low photometric mass ratio of q=0.28 which suggests that the binary is a post-mass transfer *** significant period changes in this system are *** Tau is,on the other hand,a semi-detached system where the secondary component almost fills its Roche *** detected a long-term period increase at a rate of 1.49 × 10^(-7) d yr^(-1),which supports mass transfer from the lower mass secondary component to the more massive primary.

A New Hybrid model for Segmentation of the Skin Lesion Based on Residual Attention U-Net

Skin segmentation participates significantly in various biomedical applications,such as skin cancer identification and skin lesion *** paper presents a novel framework for segmenting the *** framework contains two main stages:The first stage is for removing different types of noises from the dermoscopic images,such as hair,speckle,and impulse noise,and the second stage is for segmentation of the dermoscopic images using an attention residual U-shaped Network(U-Net).The framework uses variational Autoencoders(VAEs)for removing the hair noises,the Generative Adversarial denoising Network(dGAN-Net),the denoising U-shaped U-Net(d-U-NET),and Batch Renormalization U-Net(Br-U-NET)for remov-ing the speckle noise,and the Laplacian Vector median Filter(mLVmF)for removing the impulse *** the second main stage,the residual attention u-net was used for *** framework achieves(35.11,31.26,27.01,and 26.16),(36.34,33.23,31.32,and 28.65),and(36.33,32.21,28.54,and 27.11)for removing hair,speckle,and impulse noise,respectively,based on Peak Signal Noise Ratio(PSNR)at the level of(0.1,0.25,0.5,and 0.75)of *** framework also achieves an accuracy of nearly 94.26 in the dice score in the process of segmentation before removing noise and 95.22 after removing different types of *** experiments have shown the efficiency of the used model in removing noise according to the structural similarity index measure(SSIm)and PSNR and in the segmentation process as well.

Salmonella enterica serovar Typhi is a pathogen that only infects ***,there is no animal model for studying this ***,alymphoid RAG2^(-/-)/γc^(-/-) mice engrafted with human leukocytes,known as humanized mice,have been successfully utilized to develop experimental models for several human-specific viral infections,including HIV,human-like dengue fever and hepatitis C *** is known about the usefulness and feasibility of the humanized mouse model for the study of human-specific bacterial pathogens,such as *** aim of this study was to determine if Salmonella enterica serovar Typhi could establish productive infection in humanized *** we report that intravenous inoculation of *** into humanized mice,but not controls,established *** *** bacterial loads were found in the liver,spleen,blood and bone marrow of mice reconstituted with human leukocytes,but not in the unreconstituted control ***,***-infected humanized mice lost significant body weight,and some of the infected mice displayed neurological *** data suggest,for the first time,that humanized mice are susceptible to *** challenge and that this model can be utilized to study the pathogenesis of *** develop novel therapeutic strategies.

Lessons from Rotor 37

NASA rotor 37 was used as a ’blind’ test case for turbomachinery CFd by the Turbimachinery Com-mittee of the IGTI. The rotor is a transonic compressor with a tip speed of 454 m/s (15OO ft/s) anda relatively high pressure ratio of 2.1. It was tested in isolation with a circumferentially uniform inletflow so that the flow through it should be steady apart from any effects of passage to passage geometry variation and mechanical vibration. As such it represents the simplest possible type of test forthree-dimensional turbomachinery flow solvers. However, the rotor still presents a real challenge to3d viscous flow solvers because the shock wave-boundary layer interaction is strong and the effects ofviscosity are dominant in determining the flow deviation and hence the pressure ratio. Eleven ’blind’solutions were submitted and in addition a ’non-blind’ solution was used to prepare for the exercise-This paper reviews the fiow in the test case and the comparisons of the CFd solutions with the testdata. Lessons for both the Flow Physics in transonic has and for the application of CFd to suchmachines are pointed out.

Female Contraception: Comparative Study of Biometrics and Vascularization of the Uterus at Sylvanus Olympio University Hospital (Togo)

Female contraception uses both hormonal and non-hormonal methods. The aim of the study is to determine the impact of female contraception on uterine vascularisation and the endometrium. method: It was a descriptive comparative study with an analytical aim. It took place at the University Clinic of Obstetrics Gynaecology and the Radiology and medical imaging department of Sylvanus Olympio University Hospital in Lomé over a two-month period from may 15, 2023 to July 15, 2023. Group 1 included women using a modern contraceptive method and group 2 women not using a modern contraceptive method. Epidata 3.1 and R 4.0.4 software were used to process the data. Results: Each group included 50 women. There were no significant differences in uterine and endometrial biometrics. All women on contraception had their zone 1 vascularized, without vascularisation of zone 2, without significant difference with women without contraception The pulsatility index was greater than 3 in 51% (n = 51) of women, including 62.7% (n = 32) of women without contraception and 37.3% (n = 19) of women on contraception, with a statistically significant difference (p = 0.009). Conclusion: Contraceptive methods do not influence the biometry of the uterus. However, uterine artery doppler indices can predict abnormal uterine bleeding.

Charging mechanism of dust particles has been considered as a growing research area in dusty plasma physics because of its exciting *** this paper,we consider a low-temperature non-equilibrium multispecies plasma model,which consists of Vasyliunas-Caims (VC) distributed electrons,negative/positive streaming ions,and negatively-charged dust grains to explain the charging mechanism of dust *** main theme of this work is to derive expressions of currents for negatively-charged dust grains (considering an equilibrium state position) in the plasma environment comprised of electrons and positive/negative streaming ions using the VC distribution *** proposed model shows that the dust grain surface potential is significantly affected by different plasma parameters such as the negative ion streaming velocity (Sn),positive ion streaming velocity (Si),spectral indices of VC distribution,negative ion charging state (Zn),positive ion charging state (Zi),and negative ion number density (ρ).
