*** While the applications of computer visions are varied in construction,research has tended to focus on measuring the accuracy of object detectors such as faster region-based-convolution neural networks(Faster R-CNN)and single shot detector algorithms(Sdd)[1].Limited,if any,attention has focused on determining the benefits of such technology in construction beyond the claims that it can help detect problems quickly and *** this point are the numerous review papers that have frequented the literature[2,3].

The surgeon is invariably the primary specialist involvedin managing patients with short bowel syndrome. Becauseof this they will play an important role in co-ordinating themanagement of these patients. The principal aims at theinitial surgery are to preserve life, then to preserve gutlength, and maintain its continuity. In the immediatepostoperative period, there needs to be a balancebetween keeping the patient alive through the use of TPNand antisecretory agents and promoting gut adaptationwith the use of oral nutrition. lf the gut fails to adaptduring this period, then the patient may require therapywith more specific agents to promote gut adaptation suchas growth factors and glutamine. lf following this, thepatient still has a short gut syndrome, then the principaloptions remain either long term TPN, or intestinaltransplantation which remains a difficult and challengingprocedure with a high mortality and morbidity due torejection.

Lake eutrophication is recognised as a serious global challenge,and many regional legislative programmes are being made to attempt to relieve nutrient pollution and restore deteriorated lake ecological ***,it is of primary importance to understand the degradation processes and reference *** palaeolimnological approach allows us to use ecological evidences preserved in lake sediments to track the changes of lake trophic status under human ***,a proxy for ecological and limnological change,and pigments,a proxy for algal production and composition,were analysed on a short sediment sequence from Lake dojran(Republic of North Macedonia and Greece),and their preservation qualities were evaluated before environmental *** diatom preservation is inferred mainly from the consistent co-occurrence of robust,highly-silicified taxa and small taxa throughout the *** evaluation of the comparison between wet sediment samples in dark and cold storage and their corresponding dry sediment samples lyophilized immediately after the recovery reveals that sediment restoration conditions are critical for the accuracy of *** show that the increased chlorophyll and xanthophyll pigment concentrations,particularly the siliceous-algae pigment fucoxanthin and diatoxanthin,together with the distinct increase in diatom concentration,indicate accelerated lake eutrophication and a major ecological shift linked to intensified water abstraction practice and agricultural expansion in the late 18th to early 19th *** of diatom assemblage composition is muted probably by the dominance of widely-tolerant small fragilaroid species in diatom composition and the better competitive ability of cyanobacteria and chlorophytes than diatoms for low light under eutrophic and turbid *** study improves our understanding of recent human-induced environmental change and current ecological restoration target in this lake.

Mechanical Simulation of a diatom Frustule Structure

diatoms possess intricately complicated nanopatterned silica outer shells, the so called frustules. due to their excellent three-dimensional （3d） nanostructures, diatom frustules have attracted attentions from many fields to look for potential appli- cations, such as structural material design, light harvesting, photonics, molecular separation and bio-sensing. However, the mechanical property of frustule, especially the role of each single portion that structures a frustule, need to be clearly examined in order to provide a scientific support to frustule utilization. The reported work uses the Finite-Element （FE）-based simulation to investigate the relative mechanical properties of the frustule of the diatom Coscinodiscus sp. as compared with reference non-frustule structures. A three-dimensional model for the three featured layers of this frustule and a simplified model for its girdle band are built with the assistance of ABAQUS. A basic-cell concept is suggested; and the comparative results of several simulation groups are reported. The numerical results indicate that the seven-unit-cell model is able to catch the essential me- chanics of the Coscinodiscus sp. frustule under pressure and that the layered and porous structure of this frustule can effectively resist pressure.

There has been a wealth of research that has examined the nature of rework in *** toward addressing the rework problem has been limited-it still plagues practice,adversely impacting a project’s *** all rework studies have focused on determining its proximal or root causes and therefore have overlooked the conditions that result from its *** filling this void,this paper draws upon our previous empirical studies,amongst others,to provide a much-needed theoretical framing to understand better why rework occurs,what its consequences are,and how it can be mitigated during *** theoretical framing we derive from our review provides construction organizations and their projects with a realization that the journey to mitigating rework begins with creating an error-mastery culture comprising authentic leadership,psychological safety,an errormanagement orientation,and *** suggest that,once an error-mastery culture is established within construction organizations and their projects,they will be better positioned to realize the benefits of the techniques,tools,and technologies espoused to address rework,such as the Last Planner® and building information *** also provide directions for future research and identify implications for practice so that strides toward rework mitigation in construction can be made.

Nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy allows the study of cellular biochemistry and metabolism, both in the whole body in vivo and at higher magnetic field strengths in vitro. Since the technique is non-invasive and non-selective, magnetic resonance spectroscopy methodologies have been widely applied in biochemistry and medicine. In vitro magnetic resonance spectroscopy studies of cells, body fluids and tissues have been used in medical biochemistry to investigate pathophysiologi- cal processes and more recently, the technique has been used by physicians to determine disease abnormalities in vivo. This highlighted topic illustrates the potential of in vitro magnetic resonance spectroscopy in studying the hepatobiliary system. The role of in vitro proton and phosphorus magnetic resonance spectroscopy in the study of malignant and non-malignant liver disease and bile composition studies are discussed, particularly with reference to correlative in vivo whole-body magnetic resonance spectroscopy applications. In summary, magnetic resonance spectroscopy techniques can provide non-invasive biochemical information on disease severity and pointers to underlying pathophysiological processes. Magnetic resonance spectroscopy holds potential promise as a screening tool for disease biomarkers, as well as assessing therapeutic response.

In plant immunity, pathogen-activated intracellular nucleotide binding/leucine rich repeat （NLR） receptors mobilize disease resistance pathways, but the downstream signaling mechanisms remain obscure. Enhanced disease susceptibility 1 （EdS1） controls transcriptional reprogramming in resistance triggered by Toll-lnterleukinl-Receptor domain （TIR）-family NLRs （TNLs）. Transcriptional induction of the salicylic acid （SA） hormone defense sector provides one crucial barrier against biotrophic pathogens. Here, we present genetic and molecular evidence that in Arabidopsis an EdS1 complex with its partner PAd4 inhibits MYC2, a master regulator of SA-antagonizing jasmonic acid （JA） hormone pathways. In the TNL immune response, EdSl/PAd4 interference with MYC2 boosts the SA defense sector independently of EdS1-induced SA synthesis, thereby effectively blocking actions of a potent bacterial JA mimic, coronatine （COR）. We show that antagonism of MYC2 occurs after COR has been sensed inside the nucleus but before or coincident with MYC2 binding to a target promoter, pANAC019. The stable interaction of PAd4 with MYC2 in planta is competed by EdS1-PAd4 complexes. However, suppression of MYC2-promoted genes requires EdS1 together with PAd4, pointing to an essential EdS1-PAd4 heterodimer activity in MYC2 inhibition. Taken together, these results uncover an immune receptor signaling circuit that intersects with hormone pathway crosstalk to reduce bacterial pathogen growth.

Chronic liver disease is a major cause of morbidity and mortality worldwide and usually develops over many years, as a result of chronic inflammation and scarring, resulting in end-stage liver disease and its complications. The progression of disease is characterised by ongoing inflammation and consequent fibrosis, although hepatic steatosis is increasingly being recognised as an important pathological feature of disease, rather than being simply an innocent bystander. However, the current gold standard method of quantifying and staging liver disease, histological analysis by liver biopsy, has several limitations and can have associated morbidity and even mortality. Therefore, there is a clear need for safe and noninvasive assessment modalities to determine hepatic steatosis, inflammation and fibrosis. This review covers key mechanisms and the importance of fibrosis and steatosis in the progression of liver disease. We address non-invasive imaging and blood biomarker assessments that can be used as an alternative to information gained on liver biopsy.
