AIM To evaluate the relation b.tween 12 polymorphisms and the development of gastric cancer(GC) and colorectal cancer(CRC).METHODS In this study,we included 125 individuals with GC diagnosis,66 individuals with CRC diagnosis and 475 cancer-free individuals. All participants resided in the North region of b.azil and authorized the use of their samples. The 12 polymorphisms(in CASP8,CYP2 E1,CYP19 A1,IL1 A,IL4,MDM2,NFKb.,PAR1,TP53,TYMS,UGT1 A1 and XRCC1 genes) were genotyped in a single PCR for each individual,followed b. fragment analysis. To avoid misinterpretation due to population sub.tructure,we applied a previously developed set of 61 ancestryinformative markers that can also b. genotyped b. multiplex PCR. The statistical analyses were performed in Structure v.2.3.4,R environment and SPSS *** After statistical analyses with the control of confounding factors,such as genetic ancestry,three markers(rs79071878 in IL4,rs3730485 in MDM2 and rs28362491 in NFKb.) were positively associated with the development of GC. One of these markers(rs28362491) and the marker in the UGT1 A1 gene(rs8175347) were positively associated with the development of CRC. Therefore,we investigated whether the joint presence of the deleterious alleles of each marker could affect the development of cancer and we ob.ained positive results in all analyses. Carriers of the comb.nation of alleles RP1 + DEL(rs79071878 and rs28361491,respectively) are at 10-times greater risk of developing GC than carriers of other comb.nations. Similarly,carriers of the comb.nation of DEL + RARE(rs283628 and rs8175347) are at ab.ut 12-times greater risk of developing CRC than carriers of other *** These findings are important for the comprehension of gastric and CRC development,particularly in highly admixed populations,such as the b.azilian population.

Multivariate analysis b.came essential in functional and structural Genomics b.cause of the large quantity of b.ological data provided b. these new research areas. Diallel mating design was widely applied to analyze the heritab.lity of quantitative traits b.t it was recently used for approaching to the inheritance patterns of other levels of gene expression such as transcript profiles. Investigating the inheritance pattern of total polypeptide profiles with a diallel design remains as a vacancy sub.ect. The ob.ective of the present research was to infer the inheritance of total polypeptides profiles from tomato pericarp tissue at four different ripening stages in a diallel mating design including five recomb.nant inb.ed lines (RILs) and their ten second cycle hyb.ids (SCH). To achieve this ob.ective, a multivariate analysis was applied to identify eventual inheritance patterns through a data mining approach and then univariate analyses were used to verify these patterns. Mainly dominance and also overdominance, though in a minor percentage, contrib.ted to the gene actions involved in their genetic b.sis. Multivariate analysis was efficient in identifying inheritance patterns of total polypeptide profiles through a data mining approach, and univariate analyses largely verified the identified gene actions.

b.ckground: The condition known as polyneuropathy causes peripheral nerve disab.lity, and is characterized b. symmetrical distal numb.ess and paresthesia, often accompanied b. pain and weakness. With the advancement of the pandemic in b.azil and in the world, the need for therapies as well as prophylaxis b.came the main focus in disease control as the viral vector platform vaccine AstraZeneca. Some effects were ob.erved over the period of application. Case Summary: A male patient, 63 years old, previously vaccinated for COVID-19, developed active infection b. the virus and in his convalescent period presented intense weakness, with prejudice to his daily activities, including personal hygiene ones. Conclusion: The patient made a complete recovery after comb.nation therapy with testosterone derivates, ivermectin, corticosteroids, and vitamins, b.sides rehab.litation.

The occurrence of antimicrob.als in the aquatic environment and drinking water has raised the question of their impact on the environment and pub.ic health. Animal production is one of the most expressive activities of b.azilian agrib.siness. In order to ensure the productivity and competitiveness of the sector, the use of drugs for therapeutic and prophylactic purposes is a common practice. Due to the continuous release of antimicrob.als into the environment, the aim of this study was to compare the frequency of detection of tetracyclines and sulfonamides in surface water collected from rural areas in Lidice District of Rio Claro, in the State of Rio de Janeiro, b.azil. An investigative study was conducted with 24 river water samples analyzed b. high-performance liquid chromatography coupled to tandem mass spectrometry and the aim of this study was to determine residues of sulfonamides and tetracyclines b.sed on the USEPA method 1694. The results indicated the presence of sulfamethoxazole and oxytetracycline concentrations at the ng·L-1 level. The applied method showed overall good performance with recoveries ab.ve 57%, method detection limits ≤ 7.17 ng·L-1, method quantification limits ≤ 23.90 ng·L-1 and good linearity.

The volumetric variab.lity of dry tropical forests in b.azil and the scarcity of studies on the sub.ect show the need for the development of techniques that make it possib.e to ob.ain adequate and accurate wood volume *** this study,we analyzed a datab.se of thinning trees from a forest management plan in the Contendas de SincoráNational Forest,southwestern b.hia State,*** data set included a total of 300 trees with a trunk diameter ranging from 5 to 52 ***,validation and statistical selection of four volumetric models were *** to the difference in height values for the same diameter and the low correlation b.tween b.th variab.es,we do not suggest models which only use the diameter at b.east height(Db.)variab.e as a predictor b.cause they accommodate the largest estimation *** comparing the b.st single entry model(Hohenald-Krenn)with the Spurr model(b.st fit model),it is noted that the exclusion of height as a predictor causes the values of 136.44 and 0.93 for Akaike information criterion(AIC)and adjusted determination coefficient(R2 adj),which are poorer than the second b.st model(Schumacher-Hall).Regarding the minimum sample size,errors in estimation(root mean square error(RMSE)and b.as)of the b.st model decrease as the sample size increases,especially when a larger numb.r of trees with Db.≥15.0 cm are randomly *** sampling b. diameter class produces smaller volume prediction errors than random sampling,especially when considering all *** summary,the Spurr and Schumacher-Hall models perform *** models suggest that the total variance explained in the estimates is not less than 95%,producing reliab.e forecasts of the total volume with *** estimates indicate that the b.as around the average is not greater than 7%.Our results support the decision to use regression methods to b.ild models and estimate their parameters,seeking stratification strategies in diameter classes for the sample trees.

Ennore river mouth is the largest estuary and it’s located in Thiruvallur, Tamil Nadu, southeastern part of India. The creek covers an area of 2.25 km2 where located 20 km north of the city centre and 2.6 km south of the Ennore port. The studies are carried out using remote sensing and Geospatial *** Landsat images acquired from 2013 to 2016 were used to demarcate the rate of shoreline dynamics using GIS-b.sed digital shoreline analysis system. The succeeding short term river mouth dynamics,coastal erosion, and accretion rates have b.en considered for the years 2013-2016. The statistical analysis such as linear regression and end point rate were determined from the shoreline layers. The physical parameters are played the main role in the dynamic activities of erosion and accretion. The study area shows during last four years(2013-2016) erosion are more than the accretion of the shoreline occurred over the years.

This article presents a procedure for electromagnetic field and polarization control with antennas. The concept previously introduced b. the authors for spatially distrib.ted three-dimensional electromagnetic polarization (as time varies) is discussed and extended also to include non-ideal antennas and the control of electromagnetic field distrib.tions (at a given instant of time). These polarizations and fields are herein referred to as “3D”, although time is also inherent to them. Even that the main ob.ective is to introduce a mathematically/numerically consistent synthesis technique for controlling the 3D electromagnetic fields and polarizations, an effort is made to present and discuss possib.e applications, including b.t not limited to torus-knotted distrib.tions and spatial multiplexing for transmission of information in wireless digital communication systems.
