IDSSCNN-XgBoost:Improved Dual-Stream Shallow Convolutional Neural Network Based on Extreme Gradient Boosting Algorithm for Micro Expression Recognition

Micro-expressions(ME)recognition is a complex task that requires advanced techniques to extract informative features fromfacial *** deep neural networks(DNNs)with convolutional structures have been ***,unlike DNNs,shallow convolutional neural networks often outperform deeper models in mitigating overfitting,particularly with small ***,many of these methods rely on a single feature for recognition,resulting in an insufficient ability to extract highly effective *** address this limitation,in this paper,an Improved Dual-stream Shallow Convolutional Neural Network based on an Extreme Gradient Boosting Algorithm(IDSSCNN-XgBoost)is introduced for ME *** proposed method utilizes a dual-stream architecture where motion vectors(temporal features)are extracted using Optical Flow TV-L1 and amplify subtle changes(spatial features)via EulerianVideoMagnification(EVM).These features are processed by IDSSCNN,with an attention mechanism applied to refine the extracted effective *** outputs are then fused,concatenated,and classified using the XgBoost *** comprehensive approach significantly improves recognition accuracy by leveraging the strengths of both temporal and spatial information,supported by the robust classification power of *** proposed method is evaluated on three publicly available ME databases named Chinese Academy of Sciences Micro-expression Database(CASMEII),Spontaneous Micro-Expression Database(SMICHS),and Spontaneous Actions and Micro-Movements(SAMM).Experimental results indicate that the proposed model can achieve outstanding results compared to recent *** accuracy results are 79.01%,69.22%,and 68.99%on CASMEII,SMIC-HS,and SAMM,and the F1-score are 75.47%,68.91%,and 63.84%,*** proposed method has the advantage of operational efficiency and less computational time.

Root hairs are single cells that develop by tip growth, a process shared with pollen tubes, axons, and fungal hyphae. However, structural plant cell walls impose constraints to accomplish tip growth. In addition to polysaccharides, plant cell walls are composed of hydroxyproline-rich glycoproteins （HRGPs）, which include several groups of O-glycoproteins, including extensins （EXTs）. Proline hydroxylation, an early post-translational modification （PTM） of HRGPs catalyzed by prolyl 4-hydroxylases （P4Hs）, defines their subsequent O-glycosylation sites. In this work, our genetic analyses prove that P4H5, and to a lesser extent P4H2 and P4H13, are pivotal for root hair tip growth. Second, we demonstrate that P4H5 has in vitro preferred specificity for EXT substrates rather than for other HRGPs. Third, by P4H promoter and protein swapping approaches, we show that P4H2 and P4H13 have interchangeable functions but cannot replace P4H5. These three P4Hs are shown to be targeted to the secretory pathway, where P4H5 forms dimers with P4H2 and P4H13. Finally, we explore the impact of deficient proline hydroxylation on the cell wall architec- ture. Taken together, our results support a model in which correct peptidyl-proline hydroxylation on EXTs, and possibly in other HRGPs, is required for proper cell wall self-assembly and hence root hair elongation in Arabidopsis thaliana.

Stochastic Computing Convolutional Neural Network Architecture Reinvented for Highly Efficient Artificial Intelligence Workload on Field-Programmable Gate Array

Stochastic computing(SC)has a substantial amount of study on application-specific integrated circuit(ASIC)design for artificial intelligence(AI)edge computing,especially the convolutional neural network(CNN)***,SC has little to no optimization on field-programmable gate array(FPGA).Scaling up the ASIC logic without FPGA-oriented designs is inefficient,while aggregating thousands of bitstreams is still challenging in the conventional *** research has reinvented several FPGA-efficient 8-bit SC CNN computing architectures,i.e.,SC multiplexer multiply-accumulate,multiply-accumulate function generator,and binary rectified linear unit,and successfully scaled and implemented a fully parallel CNN model on Kintex7 *** proposed SC hardware only compromises 0.14%accuracy compared to binary computing on the handwriting Modified National Institute of Standards and Technology classification task and achieved at least 99.72%energy saving per image feedforward and 31?more data throughput than modern *** to SC,early decision termination pushed the performance baseline exponentially with minimum accuracy loss,making SC CNN extremely lucrative for AI edge computing but limited to classification *** SC's inherent noise heavily penalizes CNN regression performance,rendering SC unsuitable for regression tasks.

Theoretical Approach to Change Blast Furnace Regime With Natural Gas Injection

The operation of blast furnace using natural gas and oxygen enriched blast （composite blast technology） is considered in many countries to be standard operation for a modern blast furnace particularly in certain countries with cheap and stable supply of natural gas. The theoretical flame temperature （TFT） of combustion and the degree of di-rect reduction of iron oxides （rd） are considered as the main controlling parameters of composite blast technology. The calculated values of these parameters are mainly dependent on the amount of air blast consumption. This amount of air blast is measured before entering into blast stoves, Actually, some of air blast is lost through valves of air stoves. Consequently, the real volume of air blast in the furnace is less than the recorded value by amounts of 5%-15% which is not considered in the estimation of rd and TFT. The purpose is to analyze the different methods for es-timation of air blast inside the blast furnaces and develop a theoretical model to calculate air blast eonsumption with high accuracy. Based on the calculation of air blast consumption, a complete roadmap is demonstrated to change the operation regime parameters of blast furnaces working on composite blast technology.

The analysis of blood cells in microscope images can provide useful information concerning the health of *** are three major blood cell types,namely,erythrocytes (red),leukocytes (white),and *** classification is time consuming and suscep- tible to error due to the different morphological features of the *** paper presents an intelligent system that simulates a human visual inspection and classification of the three blood cell *** proposed system comprises two phases:The image preprocessing phase where blood cell features are extracted via global pattern averaging,and the neural network arbitration phase where training is the first and then classification is carried *** results suggest that the proposed method performs well in identifying blood cell types regardless of their irregular shapes,sizes and orientation,thus providing a fast,simple and efficient rotational and scale invariant blood cell identification system which can be used in automating laboratory reporting.

Boosting image watermarking authenticity spreading secrecy from counting-based secret-sharing

Emitter layer optimization in heterojunction bifacial silicon solar cells

Silicon solar cells continue to dominate the market,due to the abundance of silicon and their acceptable *** heterojunction with intrinsic thin layer(HIT)structure is now the dominant *** the efficiency of these cells could expand the development choices for HIT solar *** presented a detailed investigation of the emitter a-Si:H(n)lay-er of a p-type bifacial HIT solar cell in terms of characteristic parameters which include layer doping concentration,thickness,band gap width,electron affinity,hole mobility,and so *** cell composition:(ZnO/nc-Si:H(n)/a-Si:H(i)/c-Si(p)/a-Si:H(i)/nc-Si:H(p)/ZnO).The results reveal optimal values for the investigated parameters,for which the highest computed efficiency is 26.45%when lighted from the top only and 21.21%when illuminated from the back only.

Nasicon type,Mg_(0.5+x/2)Si_(2-x)Al_(x)(PO_(4))_(3) was synthesized using citric acid assisted sol-gel *** X-ray diffraction was applied to investigate the effect of extra Mg^(2+)interstitial ion on the phase,unit cell parameters and structure of the *** Mg_(0.625)Si_(1.75)Al_(0.25)(PO_(4))_(3) sample exhibited highest bulk conductivity value of 1.54×10^(−4)S cm^(−1)at ambient *** frequency dependence of theσac of these ceramic electrolytes follows the universal power law variation,σac(ω)=σo+Aωα.The conductivity parameters such as hopping frequencies,charge carrier concentration and mobile ion concentration proved that the increase in conductivity with x was due to the existence of Mg^(2+) interstitial *** experiment results also revealed that the dielectric constant and dielectric loss decreased with *** Mg_(0.625)Si_(1.75)Al_(0.25)(PO_(4))_(3) was found to be electrochemically stable up to 2.51 V at ambient temperature.
