Rapid technological improvements in biomaterials,computer-aided design(CAD)and manufacturing(CAM)have endorsed clear aligner therapy(CAT)as a mainstay of orthodontic treatment,and the materials employed for aligner fabrication play an all-important role in determining the clinical performance of clear *** narrative review has attempted to comprehensively encompass the entire gamut of materials currently used for the fabrication of clear aligners and elucidate their characteristics that are crucial in determining their performance in an oral *** developments and current protocols in aligner fabrication,features of contemporary bioactive materials,and emerging trends related to CAT are *** in aligner material chemistry and engineering possess the potential to bring about radical transformations in the therapeutic applications of CAT;in the absence of which,clear aligners would continue to underperform clinically,due to their inherent biomechanical ***,while innovations in aligner materials such as shape memory polymers,direct three-dimensional(3D)printed clear aligners and bioactive materials combined with clear aligner materials are essential to further advance the applications of CAT;increased awareness of environmental responsibilities among aligner manufacturers,aligner prescribing clinicians and aligner users is essential for better alignment of our climate change goals towards a sustainable planet.

2011年3月11日,日本太平洋东海岸发生Mw9.0级大地震,并引发巨大海啸,导致了日本东北和关东地区大面积的地基液化震害。通过现场震害调查和最新资料分析,首先较为系统地介绍了日本地震受灾区的液化宏观现象和典型震害特征。其次,研究了余震再液化和地震-海啸耦合灾害的破坏机制和特征,指出余震再液化受地震力大小、应力历史及超孔隙水压力消散程度的影响,并将地震和海啸耦合破坏过程分为3个阶段:震后液化阶段、间歇期恢复阶段、海啸流滑破坏阶段;最后,对此次强震中有关抗液化地基处理方法的有效性进行了分析与探讨,以期为今后的地基抗液化设计提供参考与借鉴。

Bioactive compounds from marine Streptomyces sp. VITPSA as therapeutics

BACKGROUND： Marine actinomycetes are efficient producers of new secondary metabolites that show different biological activities, including antibacterial, antifungal, anticancer, insecticidal, and enzyme inhibition activities. METHODS： The morphological, physiological, and biochemical properties of the strain Streptomyees sp. VITPSA were confirmed by conventional methods. Antibacterial, anti-oxidant, anti-inflammatory, anti-diabetic, and cytotoxic activities of Streptomyces sp. VITPSA extract were determined. The media were optimized for the production of secondary metabolites. Characterization and identification of secondary metabolites were conducted by high-performance liquid chromatography, gas chromatography-mass spectroscopy, and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy analysis. RESULTS： The strain showed significant antibacterial, anti-oxidant, and cytotoxic activities, moderate anti-inflammatory activity, and no satisfactory anti-diabetic activity. The ethyl acetate extract of Streptomyces sp. VITPSA showed maximum antibacterial activity against two gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria at 0.5 mg/mL. The antioxidant potential of the crude extract exhibited strong reducing power activity at 0.5 mg/mL with 95.1% inhibition. The cytotoxic effect was found to be an ICso of 50 gg/mL on MCF-7 cell lines. Experimental design of optimization by one-factor analysis revealed the most favorable sucrose, yeast extract, pH （7.25）, and temperature （28~C） conditions for the effective production of secondary metabolites. CONCLUSION： This study revealed that Streptomyces sp. VITPSA is an excellent source of secondary metabolites with various bioactivities.

Phytochemical profiling of Artocarpus lakoocha Roxb. leaf methanol extract and its antioxidant, antimicrobial and antioxidative activities

Objective:To explore the phytochemical profile of Artocarpus lakoocha *** both qualitatively and quantitatively,and validate its role as a potent antioxidant and antimicrobial ***:Extraction and isolation of different compounds were done from the leaves of Artocarpus lakoocha based on solvent fractionation ***,quantitative and qualitative phytochemical profiling along with antioxidant,antimicrobial and antioxidative activities were tested following standard ***:Among the five fractions,methanol fraction of Artocarpus lakoocha exhibited higher content of phytochemical compounds[phenols=(3175.21±290.43)mg GAE/g dry extract,flavonoids=(1173.15±47.52)mg QE/g dry extract and tannins=(923.53±95.21)mg TAE/g dry extract]as compared to other *** methanol fraction showed the highest antioxidant activity in DPPH and ABTS radical scavenging assays with IC50 of(111.98±34.20)μg/mL and(138.26±0.66)μg/mL,respectively,and the best reduction potential with a value of(316.81±2.96)mg QE/g dry extract in reducing power *** was significant correlation between the amount of phytochemicals and antioxidant ***,the extract successfully protected Lambda phage DNA from damage at 5 and 6 mg/mL concentration and exhibited substantial bactericidal as well as fungicidal *** GC-MS analysis of methanol fraction of Artocarpus lakoocha revealed diethyl phthalate as the main phytochemical compound,along with 3,4-dihydroxymandelic acid,9-octyl eicosane and 7,8-didehydro-3-methoxy-17-methyl-6-methylene ***:The methanol fraction of Artocarpus lakoocha could be used as a potent antioxidant and antimicrobial agent for sustainable agriculture and pharmaceutical purposes.

Comparison of two incisions for open reduction and internal fixation of mandibular body fractures: A randomised controlled clinical trial evaluating the surgical outcome

Purpose: The purpose of the study is to compare the surgical access and post-operative outcome of two intra-oral incisions used for approaching a mandibular body fracture. Methods: This clinical trial involved 60 patients with mandibular body fractures who were randomly allocated to control and study groups. The fractures were approached using the routine vestibular incision in the control group and crevicular incision with vertical release in the study group. The effects of incision design on the post-surgical outcome variables like swelling, trismus, paresthesia, wound healing and gingival recession were statistically analysed with non-parametric tests by using SPSS 22.0 software. Comparison of continuous variables between the groups and time points was done using Mann Whitney test and Friedman test respectively. Chi-square test was used to compare proportions between groups. Dunn's test with Bonferroni correction was used for pair wise comparisons. Results: The study group demonstrated favourable surgical outcome in the immediate postoperative phase as compared to the control group. The difference in mouth opening, swelling and neurosensory impairment between the two groups was found to be statistically significant (p < 0.05). Conclusion: Crevicular incision was found to be an ideal alternative to vestibular incision in achieving surgical access and fixation of mandibular body fractures with reduction in postoperative patient discomfort and better surgical outcome.

Potential aspect of rice husk biomass in Australia for nanocrystalline cellulose production

Nanocrystalline cellulose(NCC) was produced from rice husk biomass(Oryza sativa) by a chemical extraction process to explore the potential aspect of agro-waste biomass in Australia. In this work, the delignified rice husk pulp(D-RHP) was produced by alkaline delignification of raw rice husk biomass(R-RHB) using 4 mol·L^(-1) alkali solutions(Na OH) in a jacketed glass reactor under specific experimental conditions. D-RHP was bleached using 15% sodium hypochlorite, and the bleached rice husk pulp was coded as B-RHP. Finally,raw suspension of NCC was produced by the acid hydrolysis of B-RHP using 4 mol·L^(-1) sulphuric acid. The raw suspension of NCC was neutralized by a buffer solution and analyzed by TAPPI, FT-IR, XRD, SEM, AFM, and TEM. FT-IR spectra of NCC are different to R-RHB but similar with B-RHP and D-RHP. From XRD results, the crystallinity of NCC was found to be approximately 65%. In AFM analysis particle thicknesses have been confirmed to be in the range of(25 ± 15.14) nm or(27 ± 15.14) nm which is almost the same. From TEM analysis particle dimensions have been confirmed to be in the range of(50 ± 29.38) nm width and(550 ± 302.75) nm length with the aspect ratio ~ 11:1(length/diameter) at a 500 nm scale bar. On the other hand, at a 200 nm scale bar the particle dimensions have been confirmed to be in the range of(35 ± 17) nm width and(275 ± 151.38)nm length with the aspect ratio ~ 8:1. The aspect ratio of individual crystalline domain was determined in TEM analysis which is 10:1(100/10). Therefore the aspect ratios and dimensions of nanoparticles in NCC suspension are almost the same and in nano-meter scale, as confirmed from both AFM and TEM results. The yield of NCC from B-RHP was found to be approximately 95%, and the recovery of cellulose from R-RHB is about 90%.

Abrupt change of dielectric properties in mullite due to titanium and strontium incorporation by sol-gel method

Highly crystallized mullite has been achieved at temperatures of 1100℃and 1400℃by sol-gel technique in presence of titanium and strontium ions of different concentrations:G_(0)=0 M,G_(1)=0.002 M,G_(2)=0.01 M,G_(3)=0.02 M,G_(4)=0.1 M,G_(5)=0.2 M and G6=0.5 M.X-ray diffraction(XRD),Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy(FTIR),field emission scanning electron microscopy(FESEM),LCR meter characterized the *** formation was found to depend on the concentration of the *** dielectric properties(dielectric constant,loss tangent and AC conductivity)of the composites have been measured,and their variation with increasing frequency and concentration of the doped metals was *** the experiments were performed at room *** composites showed maximum dielectric constants of 24.42 and 37.6 at 1400℃of 0.01 M concentration for titanium and strontium ions at 2 MHz,*** to the perfect nature of the doped mullite,it can be used for the fabrication of high charge storing capacitors and also as ceramic capacitors in the pico range.

Molecular basis for identification of species/isolates of gastrointestinal nematode parasites

Gastrointestinal（GI） parasitism is the most serious constraint throughout the world in small ruminants which causes significant production loss in *** parasites are major contributor to reduce productivity in terms of meat,milk and wool in *** of GI parasite is done primarily by anthelmintic treatment where choice and schedule of treatment is done after identification and quantitation of individual *** of GI parasites is done through microscopic method by identifying specific morphological characteristics of egg and larva（L3）.Since most of parasite eggs are having similar morphological characteristics, identification up to species level through microscopy is not possible in most of *** address this issue,molecular techniques are the viable alternative for identification of species as well as molecular level differences within a species（isolates） of *** DNA based molecular techniques ***,AFLP,RAPD,RFLP,PCR-SSCP,real time PCR,DNA microarray *** been used for identification and to assess the genetic diversity among parasite *** identification of species,the characteristic sequence of genomic DNA of different species should differ to allow the delineation of species,but at the same time,no/minor variation within the species should *** contrast,for purpose of identifying population variants（strains/isolates）, a considerable degree of variation in the sequence should exist within a *** target regions,including nuclear ribosomal DNA（rDNA）,mitochondrial DNA（mtDNA） or repetitive DNA elements（microsatellite loci）,which show considerable variation in the number of repeats within individuals have been employed to achieve the identification of parasites species or strain.

Dynamicity of Land Use/Land Cover(LULC):An analysis from peri-urban and rural neighbourhoods of Durgapur Municipal Corporation(DMC)in India

The availability of better economic possibilities and well-connected transportation networks has attracted people to migrate to peri-urban and rural neighbourhoods,changing the landscape of regions outside the city and fostering the growth of physical *** multi-temporal satellite images,the dynamics of Land Use/Land Cover(LULC)changes,the impact of urban growth on LULC changes,and regional environmental implications were investigated in the peri-urban and rural neighbourhoods of Durgapur Municipal Corporation in *** study used different case studies to highlight the study area’s heterogeneity,as the phenomenon of change is not *** TM and OLI-TIRS satellite images in 1991,2001,2011,and 2021 were used to analyse the changes in LULC *** used the relative deviation(RD),annual change intensity(ACI),uniform intensity(UI)to show the dynamicity of LULC types(agriculture land;built-up land;fallow land;vegetated land;mining area;and water bodies)during *** study also applied the Decision-Making Trial and Evaluation Laboratory(DEMATEL)to measure environmental sensitivity zones and find out the causes of LULC *** to LULC statistics,agriculture land,built-up land,and mining area increased by 51.7,95.46,and 24.79 km^(2),respectively,from 1991 to *** results also suggested that built-up land and mining area had the greatest land surface temperature(LST),whereas water bodies and vegetated land showed the lowest ***,this study looked at the relationships among LST,spectral indices(Normalized Differenced Built-up Index(NDBI),Normalized Difference Vegetation Index(NDVI),and Normalized Difference Water Index(NDWI)),and environmental *** results showed that all of the spectral indices have the strongest association with LST,indicating that built-up land had a far stronger influence on the *** spectral indices indicated that the decreasing trends of vegetated land and water bodies were 4.26
