Purpose:Overcrowding in emergency department(ED)is a concerning global problem and has been identified as a national crisis in some *** emergency sorting systems designed successfully in the *** in 2004,a group of branches in South African triage scale(SATS)*** effectiveness of the case sorting system of SATS was evaluated to reduce the patient's length of stay(LOS)and mortality rate within the ED at Suez Canal University ***:The study was designed as an intervention study that included a systematic random sample of patients who presented to the ED in Suez Canal University *** study was implemented in three phases:pre-intervention phase,115 patients were assessed by the traditional protocols;intervention phase,a structured training program was provided to the ED staff,including a workshop and lectures;and post-intervention phase,230 patients were assessed by *** the patients were retriaged 2 h later,calculating the LOS per patient and the *** was collected and entered using Microsoft Excel *** data from the triage sheet were analyzed using the SPSS software program version ***:The LOS in the ED was about 183.78 min before the intervention;while after the training program and the application of SATS,it was reduced to 51.39 *** 15.7%of the patients died before the intervention;however,after the intervention the ratio decreased to 10.7%***:SATS is better at assessing patients without missing important ***,it resulted in a decrease in the LOS and reduction in the mortality rate compared to the traditional protocol.

This paper shows the natural convective heat transfer in porous media over the vertical wavy surface and it assumes that the fluid is viscous and in-compressible. This model shows the effects of the inverse of Darcy number. The dimensional partial differential equations are converted into a dimensionless form. The non-linear system of equations is obtained and these equations are solved numerically by the finite difference method. The results are obtained for inverse Darcy number, magnetic parameter, Prandtl number, amplitude of surface, parameter of heat generation and parameter of thermal conductivity, and their effects on the velocity, temperature of the fluid and Nusselt number.

Enhancing Thermal Performance of a Parabolic Trough Collector with Inserting Longitudinal Fins in the Down Half of the Receiver Tube

Heat transfer in a finned absorber of a parabolic trough collector was studied numerically. The main aim of this work was to study the effect of attached fins on the enhancement of the thermal performance of a parabolic trough collector. The values of the fin's length varied from 0 to 20 mm;their thicknesses varied from 0 to 8 mm and their number was 5. The parameters used in the current study are: the thermal and dynamic field,friction coefficient, Nusselt number, the thermal efficiency and thermal enhancement index. Obtained results show that inclusion of fins to the lower half of the absorber tube can enhance the heat transfer between the absorber tube and working fluid. The increase of the fin*s length increases the friction factor, Nusselt number and thermal efficiency, and the increase of fin's thickness also increases the previous parameters. Starting the value 6 mm of thickness, its effect remains the same, but thickness is less effective than length. The values 15 mm of length and 6 mm of thickness are selected as optimal values. Results show that the inclusion of the fins enhances the thermal performance of the parabolic collector by 8.45%.

The power and voltage levels of renewable energy resources is growing with the evolution of the power electronics and switching module *** that,the need for the development of a compact and highly efficient solid-state transformer is becoming a critical task in-order to integrate the current AC grid with the new renewable energy *** objective of this paper is to present the design,implementation,and testing of a compact multi-port solid-state transformer for microgrid integration *** proposed system has a four-port transformer and four converters connected to the *** transformer has four windings integrated on a single common ***,it can integrate different renewable energy resources and energy storage *** port has a rated power of 25 kW,and the switching frequency is pushed to 50 k *** ports are chosen to represent a realistic industrial microgrid model consisting of grid,energy storage system,photovoltaic system,and *** grid port is designed to operate at 4.16 k VAC corresponding to 7.2 kV DC bus voltage,while the other three ports operate at 500 ***,the grid,energy storage and photovoltaic ports are active ports with dual active bridge topologies,while the load port is a passive port with full bridge rectifier *** proposed design is first validated with simulation results,and then the proposed transformer is implemented and *** results show that the designed system is suitable for 4.16 k VAC medium voltage grid integration.

The main purpose of the study is to present a numerical approach to investigate the numerical performances of the fractional 4-D chaotic financial system using a stochastic *** stochastic procedures mainly depend on the combination of the artificial neural network(ANNs)along with the Levenberg-Marquardt Backpropagation(LMB)i.e.,ANNs-LMB *** fractional-order term is defined in the Caputo sense and three cases are solved using the proposed technique for different values of the fractional orderα.The values of the fractional order derivatives to solve the fractional 4-D chaotic financial system are used between 0 and *** data proportion is applied as 73%,15%,and 12%for training,testing,and certification to solve the chaotic fractional *** acquired results are verified through the comparison of the reference solution,which indicates the proposed technique is efficient and *** 4-D chaotic model is numerically solved by using the ANNs-LMB technique to reduce the mean square error(MSE).To authenticate the exactness,and consistency of the technique,the obtained performances are plotted in the figures of correlation measures,error histograms,and *** these figures,it can be witnessed that the provided technique is effective for solving such models to give some new insight into the physical behavior of the model.

Optic neuritis is the most common cause of unilateral visual loss associated with orbital pain on ocular movements and impaired colour vision. It can present with anterior optic neuritis, papillitis, a swollen optic disc, retrobulbar neuritis with a normal optic disc, neuritis with oedema of the optic disc and the macular star or anterior ischemic neuropathy. It may be the only manifestation of a disease such as demyelination or associated with systemic diseases such as systemic lupus, giant cell arteritis, Sjogren’s syndrome, herpes simplex, herpes zoster, Lyme disease, CMV, EBV, HIV, toxoplasmosis, West Nile virus, Chikungunya, dengue fever, Rift Valley fever, mumps, rubella, measles, cat scratch disease, tuberculosis, syphilis, rickettsia illnesses, Q fever, Whipple disease, brucellosis, leptospirosis, leprosy, toxocariasis, malaria, Cryptococcus, candidiasis, histoplasmosis, Aspergillosis, mucormycosis, Bacillus Chalmette-Guerin (BCG) vaccination, ethanol and methanol toxicity, sarcoidosis, neuromyelitis optica and Liber’s hereditary optic neuropathy. A systemic approach to the diagnosis is of paramount importance in confirming, diagnosing and treating optic neuritis and underlying systemic diseases to provide definitive cures. Failure to diagnose optic neuritis and treat the cause may result in optic atrophy and permanent blindness. In this paper, we reviewed the diagnosis and differential diagnoses of optic neuritis, including arteritis, ischemic, neuroretina, and vasculitic causes.

Lagerstroemia indica *** a high medicinal value,its bark,leaves and flowers can be used as *** flowers are reddish,purple,or white,thereinto,the white one is called *** ***(Nichols.)Rehd.,which is a forma of *** this paper,the hypoglycemic effects of different extracts from flowers of ***(LIF)and *** ***(Nichols.)Rehd.(LIAF)were investigated byα-glucosidase inhibitory method in vitro and alloxan-induced diabetic mice model in vivo,*** results in vitro showed that ethyl acetate extracts(EA)of LIF and LIAF(IC_(50)=4.45 and 4.09µg/mL,resepectively)had the highest inhibitory activity ofα-glucosidase,and followed by n-butyl alcohol extracts(BU)(IC_(50)=17.01 and 14.58µg/mL,respectively),and the last was petroleum ether extracts(PE)(IC_(50)=103.29 and 112.47µg/mL,respectively),the activities of all extracts were higher than that of the positive control(acarbose,IC_(50)=1278.83µg/mL).The results in vivo showed that compared with the model control group,each dose group of LIF could significantly(P<0.05,P<0.01 or P<0.001)decrease fasting blood glucose,total cholesterol(TC)level and malondialdehyde(MDA)content in diabetic mice and increase superoxide dismutase(SOD)level(P<0.05)in *** dose groups of LIF could significantly(P<0.05)decrease postprandial blood glucose,triglyceride(TG)and increase liver glycogen *** dose group of LIAF could significantly(P<0.05,P<0.01 or P<0.001)decrease fasting blood glucose,TC level and increase SOD level in *** dose groups of LIAF could significantly(P<0.05)decrease TG,MDA level and increase liver glycogen *** results indicate that LIF and LIAF had effective prevention and treatment effects on the development for diabetes.
