The increased valorization of renewable and cost-effective lignocellulosic feedstocks represents a viable,sustainable,and eco-friendly approach toward the production of biopellets as alternative energy *** aim of this research work was to investigate and evaluate the feasibility of using various lignocellulosic raw materials,i.e.,raru(Cotylelobium melanoxylon),mangrove(Rhizophora spp.),sengon(Paraserianthes falcataria),kemenyan toba(Styrax sumatrana),oil palm(Elaeis guineensis),manau rattan(Calamus manan),and belangke bamboo(gigantochloa pruriens)for manufacturing biopellets with different particle *** raw materials used were tested for their moisture content,specific gravity,ash,cellulose,and lignin *** addition,thermal analyses,i.e.,calorific values,thermogravimetric analysis(TgA),and differential scanning calorimetry(DSC),were *** following properties of the biopellets produced were investigated:moisture content,volatile matter,ash content,fixed carbon,density,and thermal *** on an analysis of the raw materials,raru had the lowest moisture content(12%)and ash content(1.5%)and the highest specific gravity(1.2).Markedly,palm oil stem had the highestα-cellulose(55%)and lignin(37%)*** accordance with the SNI 8675:2018 standard requirements,biopellets with optimal properties(moisture content of 1.4%,ash content of 0.79%,density of 1.09 g/m^(3),calorific value of 4672 cal/g,and TgA residue of 13.9%),were manufactured from raru wood.

目的:探讨m.4435A>g和YARS2 c.572g>T(p.g191V)突变在原发性高血压发生发展中的作用。方法:分析前期收集的高血压患者的线粒体基因组及外显子测序数据,对一例携带m.4435A>g和YARS2 p.g191V突变的原发性高血压患者的家系开展临床资料采集及分子遗传学检测,收集外周静脉血并构建永生化淋巴细胞系进行线粒体转移RNA(tRNA)、线粒体蛋白质、腺苷三磷酸(ATP)、线粒体膜电位(MMP)和细胞内活性氧检测。结果:线粒体全基因组测序结果显示,该家系中母系成员均携带高度保守的m.4435A>g突变,该突变影响线粒体tRNA的二级结构和折叠自由能并改变其稳定性,预测其将影响反密码子环结构。与对照组比较,携带m.4435A>g和YARS2 p.g191V突变的细胞株相关线粒体tRNA稳态水平、部分线粒体蛋白表达量、ATP产量和MMP水平下降,且活性氧水平升高,差异均有统计学意义(均Pg191V突变通过影响线粒体tRNA稳态水平加重了m.4435A>g引起的线粒体翻译及线粒体功能改变,进一步导致细胞功能障碍,表明在本家系中YARS2 p.g191V与m.4435A>g突变存在协同作用,共同参与原发性高血压的发生发展。

Nutritional quality of formulated complementary diet from defatted almond seed,yellow maize and quality protein maize flours

Traditional complementary foods are mainly starchy foods with limiting nutrient quality and can be fortified using protein rich crops like almond *** research thus aimed at investigating the nutritional quality of the formulated complementary diet from locally available almond seeds(Prunus amygdalus),high quality protein(QPM)and yellow maize after blending into *** proximate and amino acid compositions,in vitro protein qualities and functional properties of the blended flours were determined using standard *** in vivo studies involved feeding the weanling Wister albino rats with blended flours and commercial Cerelac(control),followed by hematological and histopathological determinations,while sensory attributes were evaluated by the semi-trained *** protein contents of the flour blends(24–28%)were significantly(pade.uate indispensable amino acids and improved functionalities than commercial cerelac(23%).Comparatively,the dried germinated QPM(DgQPM)has significant(pgher biological value(~37%)than fermented high QPM(FHQPM)(~30%),thereby indicating that the germination process improved protein quality of the ***,the in vivo data showed a positive effect of germination process as the rats fed with DgQPM has low white blood cells(30×10^(2))compared to FHQPM(42×10^(2))and cerelac(51×10^(2)).However,the fermentation process improved the packed cell volume of rats fed with FHQPM(49%)when compared to DgQPM and cerelac(47%).The formulated diets have no negative effects on the protein content(45.19–51.88 mg N/g)and weight(0.25–1.36 g)of the internal organs(liver,kidney and tissue)of the animals when compared to cerelac(53.72–55.04 mg N/g;0.25–1.98 g),*** panelists generally accepted all the formulated diets,hence encouraging their utilization in the global preparation of complimentary foods for young children to meet their nutritional needs and adding value to the locally produced underutilized alm

Objective:To analyze the effects of Ageratum conyzoides *** the monosodium iodoacetate induced osteoarthritis ***:Thin layer chromatography was performed to analyze the constituents of the babandotan extract *** male Sprague-Dawley rats used in this study were divided into 6 groups:normal control and negative control groups,both given0.5%carboxymethyl cellulose;the positive control group that was given glucosamine and chondroitin suspension(486 mg/200 g B.W.);the 3 dose variation extract groups including dose 1,2,and 3 that were given 40,80,and 160 mg/200 g *** on day 29 *** the groups were induced with 0.05 mL monosodium iodoacetate(20 mg/mL)on day1,except normal control induced by *** of edema volume of rat knees was performed on day 0,8,15,22,29,43,and *** data was measured at day 1,29and *** was collected at day 50 to evaluate TNF-α and MMP-9 by *** histopathology was evaluated by staining with H&E and Safranin-o-fast green staining on day ***:The babandotan leaves extract dose 2(80 mg/200 g B.W.)and dose 3(160mg/200 g B.W.)could decrease the edema volume,increase the area and thickness of articular cartilage,and increase proteoglycan ***,dose 3(160 mg/200 g B.W.)of extract babandotan leaves were able to significantly decrease the number of leukocytes,lymphocytes and udem volume,and decrease TNF alpha and MMP-9 ***:Babandotan leaves extract can recover inflammation and cartilages degradation by inhibiting TNF-αin inflammation processes and MMP-9 in the collagenase reaction in the cartilages.

Influence of Ice on Soil Elemental Characterization via Portable X-Ray Fluorescence Spectrometry

Field portable X-ray fluorescence （PXRF） spectrometry has become an increasingly popular technique for in-situ elemental characterization of soils. The technique is fast, portable, and accurate, requiring minimal sample preparation and no consumables. However, soil moisture 〉 20% has been known to cause fluorescence denudation and error in elemental reporting and few studies have evaluated the presence of soil moisture in solid form as ice. gelisols （USDA Soil Taxonomy）, permafrost-affected soils, cover a large amount of the land surface in the northern and southern hemispheres. Thus, the applicability of PXRF in those areas requires further investigation. PXRF was used to scan the elemental composition （Ba, Ca, Cr, Fe, K, Mn, Pb, Rb, Sr, Ti, Zn, and Zr） of 13 pedons in central and northern Alaska, USA. Four types of scans were completed： 1） in-situ frozen soil, 2） re-frozen soil in the laboratory, 3） melted soil/water mixture in the laboratory, and 4） moisture-corrected soil. All were then compared to oven dry soil scans. Results showed that the majority of PXRF readings from in-situ, re-frozen, and melted samples were significantly underestimated, compared to the readings on oven dry samples, owing to the interference expected by moisture. However, when the moisture contents were divided into 〉 40% and 〈 40〈 groups, the PXRF readings under different scanning conditions performed better in the group with 〈 40% moisture contents. Most elements of the scans on the melted samples with 〈 40% moisture contents acceptably compared to those of the dry samples, with R2 values ranging from 0.446 （Mn） to 0.930 （St）. However, underestimation of the melted samples was still quite apparent. Moisture-corrected sample PXRF readings provided the best correlation to those of the dry, ground samples as indicated by higher R2 values, lower root mean square errors （RMSEs）, and slopes closer to 1 in linear regression equations. However, the in-situ （frozen） sample scans did not differ

Presently, there is a growing interest in herbal remedies. Neem (Azadirachta indica) has been used in traditional medicine over centuries. In the present study, the effects of water extracts of Azadirachta indica seeds, stems, flowers and bark on the changes of hemoglobin content (Hb) and glucose levels in the blood of Rattus norvegicus were investigated. Different doses of A. indica water extracts of seeds, stems, flowers and bark were injected to the tested animals every 48 h for 14 days. Significant decrease in both hemoglobin content and glucose levels in the blood samples in all groups of injected rats were compared to control group. However, in all groups higher decrease was shown in the rats injected with 1 g·mL-1 of A. indica water extracts. In addition, the present study showed no significant relationship between decreased hemoglobin content and glucose levels in blood samples, and increased doses injected. In conclusion, A. indica has the potential to decrease both hemoglobin content and blood glucose levels.
