Genetic analysis of four consanguineous multiplex families with inflammatory bowel disease

Citrobacter Causing Septic Arthritis: A Case Report

The genus Citrobacter commonly found in water and soil as well as the intestinal and urinary tracts of animals and *** Citrobacter infections are infrequently diagnosed in environmental contexts,the rising incidence of nosocomial manifestations underscores the importance of considering this organism in the differential diagnosis of hospital-acquired *** present a case of patient with septic arthritis of the shoulder who had been originally admitted for the management of acute-on-chronic congestive heart failure exacerbation and severe *** hospital day 1,joint aspiration cultures and Gram stain confirmed the presence of Citrobacter koseri,a pathogen not commonly associated with septic arthritis,and ceftriaxone was administered to target *** hospital day 7,antibiotic was transitioned to levofloxacin,every other day for 4 *** patient was discharged to an acute rehabilitation facility after a 14-day hospital *** case stresses the importance of maintaining a broad differential diagnosis for any patients who present with fever and joint inflammation or swelling,especially in a postoperative setting.

Development of a building information model-guided post-earthquake building inspection framework using 3D synthetic environments

Control of electron beam current,charge,and energy spread using density downramp injection in laser wakefield accelerators

Density downramp injection has been demonstrated to be an elegant and efficient approach for generating high-quality electron beams in laser wakefield *** studies have demonstrated the possibilities of generating electron beams with charges ranging from tens to hundreds of picocoulombs while maintaining good beam ***,the plasma and laser parameters in these studies have been limited to specific ranges or attention has been focused on separate physical processes such as beam loading,which affects the uniformity of the accelerating field and thus the energy spread of the trapped electrons,the repulsive force from the rear spike of the bubble,which reduces the transverse momentum p⊥of the trapped electrons and results in small beam emittance,and the laser evolution when traveling in the *** this work,we present a comprehensive numerical study of downramp injection in the laser wakefield,and we demonstrate that the current profile of the injected electron beam is directly correlated with the density transition parameters,which further affects the beam charge and energy *** fine-tuning the plasma density parameters,electron beams with high charge(up to several hundreds of picocoulombs)and low energy spread(around 1%FWHM)can be *** these results are supported by large-scale quasi-threedimensional particle-in-cell *** anticipate that the electron beams with tunable beam properties generated using this approach will be suitable for a wide range of applications.

In the world between 1 and 2 billion people have obesity, In the United States, which has the highest obesity rate in the world, one in three people have obesity. Obesity rates are increasing in every country in which it has taken hold.^1 Obesity rates also affect all ages from the growing elderly-obese population to the dramatic increase in pediatric obesity, for example in the United States it is predicted that by the end of the decade one in two US children will have obesity. Obesity similarly affects all races and both sexes. As a consequence of the co-morbidities of obesity and of the associated costs such as days off work, obesity costs the US economy about 100-200 billion dollars per year.
