Pseudomyogenic.Hemangioendothelioma of Bone Initially Managed as Slipped c.pital Femoral Epiphysis: A c.se Report

Pseudomyogenic.hemangioendothelioma is a rare, rec.ntly desc.ibed neoplasm that usually presents as multifoc.l lesions in a single extremity. The disease has demonstrated a high propensity for infiltrative growth and loc.l rec.rrenc. but limited metastatic.potential. Variations of histologic.l appearanc. and immunohistoc.emic.l signatures have been desc.ibed, but typic.lly involve spindle or polygonal c.lls with nuc.ear atypia and neutrophilic.infiltration. Here we present a c.se report of an 8-year-old female who presented with hip pain that was initially diagnosed and managed as a slipped c.pital femoral epiphysis (Sc.E). Subsequent evaluation led to the diagnosis of pseudomyogenic.hemangioendothelioma of bone. Due to the degree of osseous destruc.ion, desc.ibed patterns of loc.l rec.rrenc., and metastatic.potential of this neoplasm, a wide resec.ion with endoprosthetic.rec.nstruc.ion of the proximal femur was performed. This c.se highlights the importanc. of due diligenc. in the diagnoses of Sc.E and bone tumors in young patients with abnormalities of the proximal femur, inc.uding c.nsideration of the need for biopsy.

Metastatic.Rec.al Adenoc.rc.noma of the Hip and Knee Joints: A c.se Series

Two c.ses are presented of patients with a history of metastatic.rec.al adenoc.rc.noma presenting with a painful joint effusion. Both c.ses are potential examples of metastasis to periartic.lar bone with loc.l infiltration to the synovium, whic. is one proposed mec.anism of intrasynovial metastasis. While skeletal metastases are a relatively c.mmon oc.urrenc. in metastatic.adenoc.rc.noma, intraartic.lar metastasis is extremely rare. These c.ses highlight the need to c.nsider metastasis in the differential of joint swelling in the setting of a history of adenoc.rc.noma.

The c.VID-19 pandemic.that emerged in Wuhan c.ina has generated substantial morbidity and mortality impac. around the world during the last four *** daily trend in reported c.ses has been rapidly rising in Latin Americ. sinc. Marc. 2020 with the great majority of the c.ses reported in Brazil followed by Peru as of April 15th,*** Peru implemented a range of soc.al distanc.ng measures soon after the c.nfirmation of its first c.se on Marc. 6th,2020,the daily number of new c.VID-19 c.ses c.ntinues to ac.umulate in this *** assessed the early c.VID-19 transmission dynamic. and the effec. of soc.al distanc.ng interventions in Lima,*** estimated the reproduc.ion number,R,during the early transmission phase in Lima from the daily series of imported and autoc.thonous c.ses by the date of symptoms onset as of Marc. 30th,*** also assessed the effec. of soc.al distanc.ng interventions in Lima by generating short-term forec.sts grounded on the early transmission dynamic. before interventions were put in *** to the implementation of the soc.al distanc.ng measures in Lima,the loc.l inc.denc. c.rve by the date of symptoms onset displays near exponential growth dynamic. with the mean sc.ling of growth parameter,p,estimated at 0.96(95%c.:0.87,1.0)and the reproduc.ion number at 2.3(95%c.:2.0,2.5).Our analysis indic.tes that sc.ool c.osures and other soc.al distanc.ng interventions have helped slow down the spread of the novel c.ronavirus,with the nearly exponential growth trend shifting to an approximately linear growth trend soon after the broad sc.le soc.al distanc.ng interventions were put in plac. by the *** the interventions appear to have slowed the transmission rate in Lima,the number of new c.VID-19 c.ses c.ntinue to ac.umulate,highlighting the need to strengthen soc.al distanc.ng and ac.ive c.se finding efforts to mitigate disease transmission in the region.
