Background Despite the increasing focus on strengthening One Health capacity building on global level, challenges remain in devising and implementing real-world interventions particularly in the Asia-Pacific region. Recognizing these gaps, the One Health Action Commission (OHAC) was established as an academic community for One Health action with an emphasis on research agenda setting to identify actions for highest *** text This viewpoint describes the agenda of, and motivation for, the recently formed OHAC. Recognizing the urgent need for evidence to support the formulation of necessary action plans, OHAC advocates the adoption of both bottom-up and top-down approaches to identify the current gaps in combating zoonoses, antimicrobial resistance, addressing food safety, and to enhance capacity building for context-sensitive One Health *** By promoting broader engagement and connection of multidisciplinary stakeholders, OHAC envisions a collaborative global platform for the generation of innovative One Health knowledge, distilled practical experience and actionable policy advice, guided by strong ethical principles of One Health.

Optimization of Sectional Dimensions of I-Section Flange Beams and Recommendations for IS 808: 1989

This study covers optimization of I-sectional flange beams. Scope of this study is limited to medium weight flange beams of Table 1 of IS 808:1983 but it can be further extended for the other sections of this code. Best possible geometric shape of the cross-section is found for maximum performance of the beam with minimum material consumption. All possible loading conditions are considered in the study for which a beam in flexure undergoes in its life. ANSYS software program is used for the analysis and optimizing the sections. It is found that sections MB 125, MB 300 and MB 400 of Table 1 of IS 808 are not the optimum sections but other alternative of these cross-sections is available which within the same material consumption performs better than these sections of IS code.

Radio Frequency Modelling for Future Wireless Sensor Network on Surface of the Moon

In order to study lunar regolith properties, wireless sensor network is planned to be deployed on surface of the Moon. This network can be deployed having few wireless sensor nodes capable of measuring soil properties and communicating results, as and when ready. Communication scenario on lunar surface is quite different as compared to that on the Earth, as there is no atmosphere and also there are lots of craters as well as various terrain topologies. Since the deployment of sensors on the Moon is a challenging and difficult task, it is advisable to predict the behaviour of communication channel on lunar surface. However, communication models like Irregular Terrain Model used for terrestrial communication networks are not directly applicable for Unattended Ground Sensor type sensor networks and need modifications according to lunar surface conditions and lunar environment. Efforts have been put to devise a model of radio frequency environment on the Moon using basic equations governing various physical phenomena occurring during radio propagation. The model uses Digital Elevation Model of four sites of the Moon, measured by Terrain Mapping Camera on board Chandrayan-1, a recent Indian mission to the Moon. Results presented in this paper can provide understanding of percentage area coverage for given minimum received signal strength, potential sites for sensor deployment assuring wireless communication, decision whether a given sensor node can work and can provide suggestion for possible path of rover with cluster head to remain in contact with the nodes. Digital Elevation Model based results presented here can provide more insight in to the communication scenario on the Moon and can be very useful to mission planners.

Tagging of Brown Planthopper Resistance Genes in F_2s of IR50 × Ptb33 of Rice by Using Bulked Segregant Analysis

Brown planthopper （Nilaparvata lugens Stal） is one of the most damaging pests causing hopper burn in rice, and thereby reducing the productivity and also the quality of the product. The effective management strategy to control this pest is the identification and transfer of desirable genes to local rice cultivars. The most important approach for developing resistant cultivars is the identification of markers, which can help in marker-assisted selection of more durable resistant genotype. The susceptible parent IR50 and the resistant parent Ptb33, and their F2 populations were used in bulked segregant analysis for identification of resistant genes with random amplified polymorphic DNA marker （RAPD） primers. The primers OPC7 and OPAG14 showed both dominant and susceptible specific banding pattern so called co-dominant markers. Moreover, OPC7697 and OPAG14680 showed resistant specific bands and thus being in coupling phase, whereas OPC7846 and OPAG14650 showed susceptible specific genotypic bands in bulked segregant analysis. Therefore, the coupling phase markers, OPC7697 and OPAG14680, are considered to be more useful in marker-assisted selection of rice genotypes in crop improvement.

Cow being the national animal of Nepal has special place in the *** institutions have since prehistoric time reared and cared for cattle herds and the tradition still *** Bageshwori Gaushala(cow shelter),initiated by the Hindu Rastraguru Yogi Narhaharinath in mid-1990s is one of the largest of such nucleus indigenous cattle herds in *** cattle conservation strategy of Nepal has recognized the importance of this nucleus herd,kept by grazing in the surrounding *** approaches of managing the herd health is in practice and vaccination was never *** outbreak did happen in past but overall the herd never suffered severe *** April 2018,an outbreak of foot-and-mouth disease(FMD)occurred at Bageshwori,Gaushala,Devghat,Bharatpur Metropolitan-1,Chitwan district of *** the bovine herd studied,80(53.33%)out of 150 affected animals presented characteristics FMD symptoms as vesicular lesions,drooling salivation,foot lameness,high fever and *** prompt supportive treatment,the condition *** complete recovery of infected herd was observed after 45 *** analysis showed the presence of Aphthovirus serotype O in the clinical *** present study attempts to provide fresh insights into the recent FMD outbreak,clinical signs,their effective treatment protocol and preventive measures that must be practiced following FMD outbreak.

Histology involves the observation of structural features in tissues using a *** diffraction-limited optical microscopes are commonly used in histological investigations,their resolving capabilities are insufficient to visualize details at subcellular *** a novel set of super-resolution optical microscopy techniques can fulfill the resolution demands in such cases,the system complexity,high operating cost,lack of multi-modality,and low-throughput imaging of these methods limit their wide adoption for histological *** this study,we introduce the photonic chip as a feasible high-throughput microscopy platform for super-resolution imaging of histological *** cryopreserved ultrathin tissue sections of human placenta,mouse kidney,pig heart,and zebrafish eye retina prepared by the Tokuyasu method,we demonstrate diverse imaging capabilities of the photonic chip including total internal reflection fluorescence microscopy,intensity fluctuation-based optical nanoscopy,single-molecule localization microscopy,and correlative light-electron *** results validate the photonic chip as a feasible imaging platform for tissue sections and pave the way for the adoption of super-resolution high-throughput multimodal analysis of cryopreserved tissue samples both in research and clinical settings.

Functional Genes in Relation to Residual Feed Intake in Murrah Buffalo Heifers

High Feed efficiency (FE) in growing heifers has economic importance in dairy, but remains less understood in buffaloes. Feed conversion efficiency is defined as dry matter intake (DMI) per unit body weight gain and is determined as residual feed intake (RFI), i.e., the difference between actual and predicted feed intake to gain unit body weight during a feed trial run for 78 days under control feeding. A large variation was identified ranging between -0.42 to 0.35 in growing buffalo heifers (n = 40) of age between 11 to 15 months. An average daily weight gain (ADG) varied between 382.0 and 807.6 g/day when compared with the control-fed heifers at an organized buffalo farm. The whole blood transcriptome data obtained from the selected growing heifers from extremes of estimated high and low RFI efficiency were compared with the reference assembly generated from the transcriptome of multiparous buffaloes (n = 16) of diverse age of maturity, period of regaining post partum cyclicity and level of milk production. Differentially expressed genes (DEGs) were identified using the reference genome of Mediterranean water buffalo. GO: terms (Padj 0.05, FDR 0.05) enriched by annotated DEGs and biological pathways in gene network for RFI efficiency trait were identified. GO: terms specific to pre-transcriptional regulation of nucleus and Chromatin organization under Nucleoplasm, Energy balancing, Immunity, Cell signaling, ROS optimization, ATP generation through the Electron Transport chain and cell proliferation were determined. The study reveals the indicators targeting the actual metabolic changes and molecular functions underlying the feed utilization capacity of buffaloes. Estimated RFI efficiency revealed a large variation over heifers which may lower the DMI even up to 13.6% thus, enabling an increase in ADG up to 16% by involving efficient heifers in breeding plan. Ni0.5Cu0.25Zn0.25GdxFe2-xO4 (x = 0.0, 0.025, 0.05, 0.075, 0.1) ferrites were synthesized using an oxalic-based precursor method. The TC for all the Ni0.5Cu0.25Zn0.25GdxFe2-xO4 (x = 0.0, 0.025, 0.05, 0.075, 0.1) samples was measured by using one of the double coil susceptibility setup. In all the samples it is observed that, at a certain temperature, susceptibility falls to zero indicating the Curie temperature (TC) and ferrimagnetic samples are converted into paramagnetic sample at that temperature. The electrical properties were investigated for these samples. Dielectric properties and ρdc properties were observed to decrease with the increase in the frequency for all the Gd doped ferrite samples.
