Cassia tora *** commonly known as‘Charota’in hindi language in India,is a rainwater wasteland *** years,the leaves and seeds of Cassia tora have been used in the Ayurveda,Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM),and folk medicine of tropics for the various medicinal properties it *** reviewing various literature on the plant,it was found that it is great for health as it possesses several protective properties like:h epatoprotective,ne phroprotective,c ataract protective,s kin protective,and n europrotective *** from these properties like,v asodilatory,a nti-tumor,a nti-oxidant,l axative,a nti-d iabetic,a nti-i nflammatory,a nti-e strogenic,are also significant medicinal activities that can be further used to develop neutraceuticals for diseases like cancer and ***,the compounds found in Cassia Tora are also efficient anti-bacterial,anti-fungal and anti-helminthic *** of its medicinal properties have been reported only in ethnomedicine,while some tested in model systems,and some verified through clinical *** evaluate the current state of literature on these medicinal *** have found this leguminous herb to have potentially multiple characteristics that might help in mitigating current pandemic with literature evidence of anti SARS-CoV ***,an in-silico analysis of the molecule Aurantio-Obtusin(AO)showed efficient binding to various SARS-CoV2 proteases and host factor molecules involved in inflammatory ***,more experimental and clinical studies with single isolated and purified natural compounds are warranted to confirm such useful activities of the wasteland herb,for it’s health food,medical and economic utilization.

AIM: To analyze the outcomes of laparoscopic ventral mesh rectopexy in the management of complete rectal prolapse(CRP) in North Indian patients with inherent bulky and redundant colon. METHODS: The study was conducted at a tertiary health care center of North India. Between January 2010 and October 2014, 15 patients who underwent laparoscopic ventral mesh repair for CRP, were evaluated in the present study. Perioperative outcomes, improvement in bowel dysfunction or appearance of new complications were documented from the hospital records maintained prospectively. RESULTS: Fifteen patients(9 female) with a median age of 50 years(range, 15-68) were included in the study. The median operative time was 200 min(range, 180-350 min) and the median post-operative stay was 4 d(range, 3-21 d). No operative mortality occurred. One patient with inadvertent small bowel injury required laparotomy on post-operative day 2. At a median follow-up of 22 mo(range, 4-54 mo), no prolapse recurrence was reported. No mesh-related complication was encountered. Wexner constipation score improved significantly from the preoperative value of 17(range, 5-24) to 6(range, 0-23)(P < 0.001) and the fecal incontinence severity index score from 24(range, 0-53)to 2(range, 0-53)(P = 0.007). No de novo constipation or fecal incontinence was recorded during the followup. On personal conversation, all patients expressed satisfaction with the outcome of their treatment. CONCLUSION: Our experience indicates that laparoscopic ventral mesh rectopexy is an effective surgical option for CRP in North Indian patients having a bulky redundant colon.

Flexible structure dynamics with collocated force actuators and position sensors lead to negative imaginary (NI) systems. In this paper, the authors study the extension of NI theory to descriptor systems. The authors derive an NI lemma for descriptor systems. This is done by using the transformation from positive real (PR) system to NI system. Then, the Weierstrass Form transformation was involved to transform A and E matrices to be in a special form. An illustrative example is presented to support the result. Negative imaginary systems, positive real systems, descriptor systems, Negative imaginary lemma.

AIM: To compare resistin mRNA expression in subcutaneous adipose tissue (SAT) and its correlation with insulin resistance (IR) in postmenopausal obese women. METHODS: A total of 68 postmenopausal women (non obese = 34 and obese = 34) were enrolled for the study. The women of the two groups were age matched (49-70 years). Fasting blood samples were collected at admission and abdominal SAT was obtained during surgery for gall bladder stones or hysterectomy. Physical parameters [age, height, weight, body mass index (BMI)] were measured. Biochemical (plasma insulin and plasma glucose) parameters were estimated by enzymatic methods. RNA was isolated by the Trizol *** resistin mRNA expression was done by real time- reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) by using Quanti Tect SYBR Green RT-PCR master mix. Data was analyzed using independent Student's t test, correlation and simple linear regression analysis. RESULTS: The mean weight (52.81 ± 8.04 kg vs 79.56 ± 9.91 kg; P < 0.001), BMI (20.23 ± 3.05 kg/m 2 vs 32.19 ± 4.86 kg/m 2 ; P < 0.001), insulin (8.47 ± 3.24 U/mL vs 14.67 ± 2.18 U/mL; P < 0.001), glucose (97.44 ± 11.31 mg/dL vs 109.67 ± 8.02 mg/dL; P < 0.001) and homeostasis model assessment index (2.01 ± 0.73 vs 3.96 ± 0.61; P < 0.001) were significantly higher in postmenopausal obese women compared to postmenopausal non obese women. The mean serum resistin level was also significantly higher in postmeno-pausal obese women compared to postmenopausal non obese women (9.05 ± 5.15 vs 13.92 ± 6.32, P < 0.001). Furthermore, the mean SAT resistin mRNA expression was also significantly (0.023 ± 0.008 vs 0.036 ± 0.009; P < 0.001) higher and over expressed 1.62 fold (upregulated) in postmenopausal obese women compared to postmenopausal non obese women. In postmeno-pausal obese women, the relative SAT resistin mRNA expression showed positive (direct) and significant correlation with BMI (r = 0.78, P < 0.001) and serum resistin (r = 0.76, P < 0.001). AIM:To compare the use of vildagliptin and sulfonylurea with or without metformin in Indian Muslim patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus,fasting during ***:This was a 4-wk,multicenter,non-interventional,open-label,observational *** of hypoglycemic events(HEs),adverse events,and changes in glycosylated hemoglobin A1c(HbA1c),fasting plasma glucose,postprandial plasma glucose and body weight were measured pre-and ***:Totally,97 patients were recruited and all completed the study(vildagliptin group,n=55;sulfonylurea group,n=42).HEs were reported in low frequencies in both the vildagliptin and the sulfonylurea groups[0 vs 2(4.8%)patients,respectively].Interestingly,HbA1c reduced by-0.43%(-4.71 mmol/mol)in the vildagliptin group[8.75%(72.10 mmol/mol)to8.32%(67.38 mmol/mol),P=0.009]while in the sulfonylurea group there was a small increase by 0.01%[0.08 mmol/mol;8.64%(70.92 mmol/mol)to 8.65%(71.00 mmol/mol),P=0.958].Higher percentage of vildagliptin-treated patients achieved HbA1c<7.0%(<53 mmol/mol)compared with sulfonylurea(16.4%vs4.8%).Mean decrease in the body weight was 1.2 kg and 0.03 kg,respectively(P<0.001).Both treatment groups were well tolerated during ***:Vildagliptin is an attractive treatment option for Indian patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus who are fasting during Ramadan.
