Role of relevant immune-modulators and cytokines in hepatocellular carcinoma and premalignant hepatic lesions

AIm To assess the levels of different immune modulators in patients with hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC),in relation to other hepatic *** Eighty-eight patients were included in the current study and represented patients with HCC(20),liver cirrhosis(28) and chronic hepatitis(CH;25),and normal controls(NC;15).Peripheral blood was isolated for immunophenotyping of active myeloid dendritic cells(m DCs;CD1 c and CD40),mature inactive myeloid cells(CD1 c and HLA),active plasmacytoid cells(p DCs;CD303 and CD40),mature inactive p DCs(CD30 and HLA),active natural killer(NK) cells(CD56 and CD161),active NK cells(CD56 and CD314) and inactive NK cells(CD56 and CD158) was done by flow *** levels of interleukin(IL)-2,IL-10,IL-12,IL-1β,interferon(IFN)-α,IFN-γ and tumor necrosis factor(TNF)-αR2 were assessed by *** Active m DCs(CD1 C+/CD40+) and inactive m DCs(CD1 c+/HLA+) were significantly decreased in HCC patients in relation to NC(P mong other *** p DCs(CD303+/HLA+),inactive NKs(CD56+/CD158+) and active NKs(CD56+/CD161+) were not statistically changed among the four groups studied;however,the latter was increased in CH(P m DCs(CD1 c+/HLA+) and inactive NK cells(CD56+/CD158+;r = 0.945,P mportant modulators in the development and progression of HCC.

Characterization and Catalytic Activity of New metal-organic Frameworks Resulted from Self-assembly of Ph3SnCI, K[Cu（CN）2] and Nitrogen Donor Ligands

Five new metal-organic frameworks （mOFs） of the general composition [Ph3SnCu（CN）2.L], where L= pyrazine （pyz）（1）, methylpyrazine （mepyz）（2）, 4,4＇-bipyridine （bpy）（3）, trans-l,2-bis（4-pyridyl）ethene （tbpe）（4） or 1,2-bis（4-pyridyl）ethane （bpe）（5）, have been synthesized and characterized to test their potential applications as catalysts. The structures of the mOFs 1--5 mainly consist of Cu（CN）2 building blocks connected by the Ph3Sn cations and the bipodal ligand forming polymeric networks. They exhibit strong fluorescence in the solid state. Also, they are used as heterogeneous catalysts for the degradation of azo-dyes, metanil yellow （mY） by diluted solution of hydrogen peroxide as oxidant. The reaction is first order with respect to mY dye, while the factors affecting the rate constant of the degradation reaction are investigated. The activation parameters of the reaction have been estimated and a possible mechanism has been proposed.

Development of new lateral-flow immunochromatographic strip using colloidal gold and mesoporous silica nanoparticles for rapid diagnosis of active schistosomiasis

Objective: To develop a new sandwich based lateral flow immunochromatographic strip for rapid detection of circulating Schistosoma mansoni antigen in serum and urine samples of patients with active schistosomiasis. methods: This lateral flow immunochromatographic strip was prepared by using anti-Schistosoma mansoni soluble egg antigen monoclonal antibody conjugated gold nanoparticles (mAb-AuNPs) as antigen-detecting antibody, while crystalline material (mCm)-41-mAb bioconjugate was immobilized at the test line as antigen-capturing antibody. Both antigen capturing and detecting antibodies formed sandwich complexes with circulating Schistosoma mansoni antigen in the positive samples. Sandwich complexes immobilized at the test line gave distinct red color. The assay reliability was examined by using urine and serum samples of 60 Schistosoma mansoni infected patients, 20 patients infected with parasites other than Schistosoma, and 20 healthy individuals as negative controls. Results were compared with those obtained via sandwich enzyme linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Results: The detection limit of circulating Schistosoma mansoni antigen by lateral flow immunochromatographic strip was lower (3 ng/mL) than the detection limit by ELISA (30 ng/mL). The sensitivity and specificity of lateral flow immunochromatographic strip in urine samples were 98.3% and 97.5%, respectively compared to 93.5% and 90.0% by ELISA. In serum samples, they were 100.0% and 97.5%, respectively compared to 97.0% and 95.0% by ELISA. The strip test took approximately 10 min to complete. Conclusions: This new lateral flow immunochromatographic strip offers a sensitive, rapid, and field applicable technique for diagnosis of active schistosomiasis.

Preliminary evaluation of the radiotherapeutic efficacy of 131I-atorvastatin in rats with hepatocellular carcinoma

As one of the most critical types of cancer,hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)affects many people *** study demonstrated the prospective use of atorvastatin,a drug that inhibits the mevalonate pathway,causing hypolipidemia,as a carrier to deliver the iodine-131(131I)isotope to liver tissues for HCC *** atorvastatin radioiodination method was optimized for utilizing the131I *** radiochemical quality and the in vitro stability of the generated[131I]atorvastatin were *** addition,the biodistribution experiments of[131I]atorvastatin were evaluated in both normal and HCC-induced rat models.[131I]atorvastatin was produced at a maximum radiochemical yield of 86.7±0.49%.The[131I]atorvastatin solution purified via high-performance liquid chromatography showed good in vitro stability for 12 h after *** analyses revealed remarkable liver targeting capacity of[131I]atorvastatin and good localization of131I in liver ***,the encouraging biochemical profile and histopathologicalfindings have been reported,and preliminary investigations on the possible use of[131I]atorvastatin as a radiotracer and its impact on HCC radiotherapy in rats show promise.

Role of Ca^(2+) on Growth of Brassica campestris *** ***(L.) Czern & Coss under Na^+ Stress

Root and shoot growth of Brassica campestris L. and B. juncea increased significantly （P 〈 0.01） with enhanced Ca2＋ treatment along with 60 mm NaCl in the root medium. The maximum fresh mass of shoot and root in *** was recorded at 10 mm Ca2＋ concentration. The relative growth rate of shoot of both species reached its maximum at 8 mm of Ca2＋ concentration. Average rate of Ca2＋ intake （lCa） was higher in B. juncea than 6. campestris. In B. juncea, the average transport of Ca2＋ to shoot increased by 19%, 38%, 119%, 125% and 169% compared with the control. Furthermore specific utilization rate of Ca2＋ was higher in B. juncea than B. campestris. In B. campestris it increased by 9%, 32%, 41% and 59% at 4, 6, 8, and 10 mm of calcium in comparison to 2 mm Ca2＋ treatment. At 4, 6, 8 and 10 mm of Ca2＋ application, the increase in the leaf area ratio was 10,17, 23 and 30%, respectively. In the shoot and root portions of B. campestris and ***, Ca2＋ had a linear relationship with potassium and sulfur, whereas it was in antagonism with sodium ion.

In this paper,transient and steady natural convection heat transfer in an elliptical annulus has been *** annulus occupies the space between two horizontal concentric tubes of elliptic *** resulting velocity and thermal fields are predicted at different annulus orientations assuming isothermal *** full governing equations of mass,momentum and energy are solved numerically using the Fourier Spectral *** heat convection process between the two tubes depends on Rayleigh number,Prandtl number,angle of inclination of tube axes and the geometry and dimensions of both *** Prandtl number and inner tube axis ratio are fixed at 0.7 and 0.5,*** problem is solved for the two Rayleigh numbers of 104 and 105 considering a ratio between the two major axes up to 3 while the angle of orientation of the minor axes varies from 0 to 90◦.The results for local and average Nusselt numbers are obtained and discussed together with the details of both flow and thermal *** isothermal heating conditions,the study has shown an optimum value for major axes ratio that minimizes the rate of heat transfer between the two *** important aspect of this paper is to prove the successful use of the Fourier Spectral method in solving confined flow and heat convection problems.

Recently,much interest has been given tomulti-granulation rough sets (mGRS), and various types ofmGRSmodelshave been developed from different viewpoints. In this paper, we introduce two techniques for the classificationof mGRS. Firstly, we generate multi-topologies from multi-relations defined in the universe. Hence, a novelapproximation space is established by leveraging the underlying topological structure. The characteristics of thenewly proposed approximation space are *** introduce an algorithmfor the reduction ***, a new approach for the classification ofmGRS based on neighborhood concepts is introduced. Finally, areal-life application from medical records is introduced via our approach to the classification of mGRS.

Therapeutic potential of Calotropis gigantea extract against invasive pulmonary aspergillosis:In vitro and in vivo study

Objective:To characterize the antifungal activity of methanolic leaf extract of Calotropis gigantea alone or in combination with amphotericin B against invasive pulmonary aspergillosis in ***:GC/mS was used for analysis of active constituents of Calotropis gigantea *** germination assay and broth micro-dilution method were used to determine antifungal potential of Calotropis gigantea/amphotericin B against Aspergillus *** mice were randomly assigned into 5 groups:group 1 was neutropenic(control);group 2 was infected with Aspergillus fumigatus;group 3 was infected with Aspergillus fumigatus,and treated with Calotropis gigantea extract;group 4 was infected with Aspergillus fumigatus and treated with amphotericin B;group 5 was infected with Aspergillus fumigatus and treated with both Calotropis gigantea extract and amphotericin *** lung tissues were histopathologically *** burden and gliotoxin concentration were evaluated in lung ***,superoxide dismutase,and malondialdehyde content were determined in lung ***,tumor necrosis factor-alpha,interleukin-1,and interleukin-17 were also estimated by the sandwich enzyme-linked immuno-sorbent ***:Calotropis gigantea/amphotericin B had a minimum inhibitory concentration and minimum fungicidal concentration of 80 and 160μg/mL,respectively,for Aspergillus ***,Calotropis gigantea/amphotericin B significantly reduced lung fungal burden by 72.95%and inhibited production of gliotoxin in lung tissues from 6320 to 1350μg/g *** gigantea/amphotericin B reduced the oxidative stress of the lung via elevating the activity of antioxidant enzymes and decreasing the levels of lipid *** activity and the production of pro-inflammatory cytokines were also significantly *** electron microscopy revealed deteriorations in the hyphae ultrastructure in Calotropis gigantea/amphotericin B trea

modeling DNA ＆ RNA mutation using mset and topology

mathematical equations are now found not only in the books, but also they help in finding solutions for the biological problems by explaining the technicality of the current biological models and providing predictions that can be validated and complemented to experimental and clinical studies. In this research paper, we use the mset theory to study DNA ＆： RNA mutations to discover the mutation occurrence. Also, we use the link between the concept of the meet and topology to determine the compatibility or similarity between ＂types＂, which may be the strings of bits, vectors, DNA or RNA sequences, etc.
