The phenolic and antioxidant constituents in Acacia nilotica fruits have become an important source of medicinal and thera-peutic benefit with powerful biological *** study investigated the phenolic content and antioxidant capacity of powdered Acacia fruits with seeds and without *** phenolic content and antioxidant capacities in them were deter-mined using Folin-Ciocalteu and DPPH free radical-scavenging *** total phenolic and antioxidants of *** with seeds were spectrophotometrically determined to be 47.61 and 6.18%greater than when the seeds were removed from the dried fruits,*** LC-MS/QTOF analysis shows the presence of 282 and 214 phenolic compounds in the methanol extracts of *** with seeds and without seeds,*** present study,therefore,revealed that dried *** fruits with seeds have higher total phenolic content,antioxidant capacity,and bioactive constituents,which indi-cated that they have more medicinal value than fruits without seeds.

Introduction: Chronic kidney disease (CKD) is a major cause of death in sub-Saharan Africa. The effects of the CKD on the host and the continuous therapeutic measures increase the hypothesis of blood-borne diseases transmission. Objective: This study aimed to find the frequency of occult hepatitis B virus (OBI) in patients of chronic renal failure (CRF) and to study the possibilities of infection acquisition. Methods: During 2017 and 2019, two hundred CRF patients under regular haemodialysis and attending Gezira Hospital for Renal Diseases and Surgery were recruited. Plasma specimens were collected and used for detection of hepatitis B surface antigens (HbsAg), total hepatitis B core antibodies (anti-HBc) and hepatitis B virus DNA isolation. Nested PCR reaction was followed to identify HBV. Socio-clinical data for each participant was obtained. Results: Male patients represented 64% (128/200), most frequent age group was from 41 to 60 years with percentage of 56.5% (113/200), 86% (172/200) of CRF patients were received blood while 42% (84/200) get HBV vaccination. Hepatitis B core antibodies were found in 54% (108/200) of studied cases, and 22% (42/188) of tested DNA were positively amplified for target gene. Detection of Hepatitis B core antibodies was significantly associated with marital status while absence of vaccination significantly associated with the detection of both hepatitis B core antibodies and HBV DNA. Conclusion: This study found high frequency of OBI in CRF patients, to reduce the transmission of the disease, possible hypotheses should be studied, including blood transfusion, haemodialysis process and HBV vaccination status.

Background: Zygomatic fracture is one of the most prevalent one among facial fractures caused by vehicle accident, motorcycle accident, fighting, fall and sport injuries. Materials & Methods: This study was a retrospective study of our patients during past 6 years. Results: We had 1277 facial fractures, of whom 9 patients had blindness. We had 193 patients with Zygomatic fracture. 98 patients had pure zygomatic fracture and other had complicated fractures. Frequency of blindness due to zygomatic fracture in a period of six years was 4.7% in all and in pure zygomatic fractures was 2.04%. Blindness was most prevalent in age group 20 - 29 years old (55.6%). The most prevalent cause of zygomatic fracture which causes blindness, was motor vehicle accident (77.8%). Blindness was more common in males (77.8%) than females (22.2%). Discussion and Conclusions: One of the most disastrous complication of zygomatic fracture is transection of optic nerve. Very careful examination of fractured bones careful examination of optic nerve and visual acuity and urgent operation and decompression of optic nerve must be performed. About 4% - 5% will have blindness purely due to fracture.

Vendor selection is an evaluation process that is based on many criteria that uses inaccurate or uncertain *** while the criteria are often numerous and the relationships between higher-level criteria and lower-level sub-criteria are complex,most conventional decision models cannot help us clarify the interrelationships among the *** proposed integrated fuzzy multiple criteria decision making(MCDM) method addresses this issue within the context of the vendor selection ***,we use triangular fuzzy numbers to express the subjective preferences of ***,using Fuzzy TOPSIS written in C++ language,the ranking of the vendors for a manufacturing company in supply chain and the consequences of the mentioned above were discussed and investigated.

Background: Tuberculosis is a health problem in Sudan and may become a greater challenge in the future due to the weakness in infection prevention measures, increase in cases of drug-resistant and the difficulty of diagnosis. Objective: The aim of this study was to detect Mycobacterium tuberculosis (MTB) from sputum of clinically suspected patients using the three available techniques. Methods: Three hundred participants referred to Wad Madani Tuberculosis Center during 2017-2019 were included. Early morning fresh sputum samples were subjected to Mycobacterium tuberculosis examination by Ziehl-Neelsen (ZN) stain without concentration, ZN stain with centrifugation and geneXpert assay. Results: Of the 300 suspected cases;Mycobacterium tuberculosis detected in 17% (51/300) by ZN stain without concentration, 20% (59/300) by ZN stain with centrifugation and 34% (103/300) by geneXpert. The two techniques of ZN stains possessed 100% specificity and relative differences in sensitivity when compared to geneXpert assay. The significant association observed between ZN stains and geneXpert results indicated validity of ZN techniques for detection.

Pollucite, CsAlSi 2 O 6, is a good candidate for the confinement of cesium Cs, contained in radioactive waste. This study deals with the optimization of the synthesis conditions of an analogue of pollucite mineral, simulated with potassium (K). The mineral is synthesized by a dry milling method at 1,100 °C. Potassium is a chemical analogue of cesium isotopes. It is characterized by its physical and microstructural properties. The optimization of the synthesis parameters is achieved by both the compaction and dilatometric studies, and also the sintering atmosphere. The dilatometric study showed that in the temperature interval of 320 to 760 °C, the skeleton of pollucite has formed. The material obtained under an inert atmosphere of nitrogen gave properties representative of those of natural pollucite, with a sintered density of 1.670 g/cm 3, and an Archimedes density of 1.3104 g/cm 3. The phase identification of the material by X-ray diffraction showed that the obtained mineral can be identified to an aluminosilicate standard KAlSi 2 O 6. The analysis by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) of the material gave average grains sizes in the interval 20 to 50 μm. Differential thermal analysis gave a melting point of the mineral of 1,290 °C, which is in the melting interval temperature of feldspathoids mineral family.

Aluminosilicated glasses containing Zr and Ti metals have satisfactory properties, and may be suitable as nuclear glasses, dedicated for storage of radioactive waste solutions. This study summarizes the synthesis of a glassy matrix in the system: SiO2-Al2O3-CaO-MgO-ZrO2-TiO2. Ce element was added as an actinide surrogate. The effect of Ce addition on the glass structure is investigated, for Ce contents ranging between 0 and 15 wt.%. For the whole of glasses, a double melting at 1,350°C during 5 h gave monophasic homogeneous glasses. Both X-ray diffraction and scanning electron microscopy analyses reveal a pure amorphous structure. Most of the basic properties increase with the glass Ce content, the Archimedes density from 2.827 to 3.049 g/cm3, and Vickers indentations from 680 to 862 HV. Oxygen molar volumes are not affected by the glasses Ce contents. The differential thermal analysis show that the glass transformation temperature decreases with the Ce content, and with the heavy elements content. The optical absorption spectroscopy study shows that the Nd cations environment is not altered by the glasses Ce concentration. A preliminary corrosion test leads to low dissolutions of Si, Ca and Zr, estimated by ICP analyses to few ppms. Out coming investigations are in course for further glasses network characterizations.
