Purpose:Malnutrition is a common problem among hospitalized patients,especially among traumatic brain injury(TBI)*** is developed from hypermetabolism and the condition may worsen under the circumstance of underfeeding or incompatible dietary ***,the data of nutrient intake especially calorie and protein among TBI patients were ***,this study aimed to determine the calorie and protein intake among acute and sub-acute TBI patients receiving medical nutrition therapy in hospital Sultanah Nur Zahirah,***:This observational study involved 50 patients recruited from the neurosurgical *** of 24 h dietary recall was utilized and combined with self-administered food diaries for 2-8 *** consumptions including calorie intake and protein intake were analyzed using Nutritionist PRO™(Woodinville,USA)and manual calculation based on the Malaysian food composition database(2015).Results:Patients consisted of 56%males and 44%females with the median age of 28.0(IQR=22.8-36.5)years,of which 92%were diagnosed as mild TBI and the remaining(8%)as moderate *** Glasgow coma scale(GCS)was adopted to classify TBI severity with the score 13-15 being mild and 9-12 being *** median length of hospital stay was 2(IQR=2.0e3.3)*** and protein intake improved significantly from day 1 to discharge ***,the intake during discharge day was still considered as suboptimal,i.e.75%of calorie requirement,whilst the median protein intake was only 61.3%relative to protein ***,the average percentages of calorie and protein intakes throughout hospitalization were remarkably lower,i.e.52.2%and 41.0%,***:Although the calorie and protein intakes had increased from baseline,hospitalized TBI patients were still at a risk to develop malnutrition as the average intakes were considerably low as compared to their *** nutrient intakes especially calorie and protein are crucial to

The searching of parking burns a lot of barrels of the world’s oil every day. Car parking problem is a major contributor in congestion of traffic and has been, still a major problem with increasing vehicle size in the luxurious segment and also confines parking spaces in urban cities. The rapid growth in the number of vehicles worldwide is intensifying the problem of the lack of parking space. As the global population continues to urbanize, without a well-planned, convenience-driven retreat from the car, these problems will worsen in many countries. The current unmanaged car parks and transportation facilities make it difficult to accommodate the increasing number of vehicles in a proper, convenient manner so it is necessary to have an efficient and smart parking system. Smart parking management systems are capable of providing extreme level of convenience to the drivers. In this paper, a proposed web App system, named “Park Easy” is based on the usage of smart phones, sensors monitoring techniques with a camera which is used as a sensor to take photos to show the occupancy of cars parks. By implementing this system, the utilization of parking spaces will increase. It allocates available parking space to a given driver to park their vehicle, renew the availability of the parking space when the car leaves and compute the charges due. Smart parking App, “Park Easy”, will also enable most important techniques to provide all the possible shortage route for parking from any area of the city mainly, it helps to predict accurately and sense spot/vehicle occupancy in real-time.

There is a global epidemic of diabetes with its prevalence expected to increase from 5.1% in 2003 to 6.3% in 2025. This increase in diabetes is occurring in all nations, however, developing nations are particularly at risk. It spares no group and affects men, women, the elderly, young and people from very racial and socio-economic background. Nevertheless, certain ethnic groups including Asians are affected more than Caucasians. Large randomized clinical trials have shown that improvement in glycaemic control, together with management of diabetes-related risk factors like blood pressure and lipid control significantly reduce the micro and macro complications in individuals with type 1 and type 2 diabetes. Patient education plays a crucial role in the prevention of diabetic fool problems. In Geneva, the rate of lower limb amputations was reduced by almost 75% after an educational intervention. People with diabetes must acquire the knowledge and skills through education to provide daily self-care in diabetes management which involves maintenance of healthy living, recognition and management of diabetes problems when they arise and taking preventive measures. Some factors include patients’ biomedical variables, the psychosocial environment, the knowledge, attitudes and beliefs of patients themselves, home careers and health care providers, healthcare systems’ accessibility and availability and even the national political context may influence these self-care behaviors.

A facile access for the synthesis of some C-2 substituted imidazopyrazines by utilizing the palladium catalyzed Suzuki cross-coupling reaction under microwave irradiation

A rapid, efficient, and facile synthesis of an assortment of C-2 substituted imidazopyrazines has been achieved by utilizing the palladium catalyzed Suzuki cross-coupling of 2-bromo-1H-imidazo[4,5-b]pyrazine with various boronic acids under microwave irradiation. The utilization of（A-^（ta）phos）_2PdCl_2 as a catalyst in combination with Cs F as base and DME-H_2O（4：1） as the solvent system at 100℃ procured the diaryls in acceptable to excellent yields. Prominent features of this developed methodology include short reaction times, fewer side products, and exceptional tolerance to a wide variety of functional groups.

目的:评估CT对心包隐窝和相似表现纵隔淋巴结的鉴别诊断的意义。材料与方法:选择在2014年1月-2015年12月在我院行胸部CT检查的患者240例,男112例,女128例,年龄23-101(平均年龄67.15±14.09)岁。心包隐窝组103例,纵隔淋巴结组137例。两位有经验的放射科医生回顾性评估CT表现。采用SIEMENS公司炫速双源CT扫描,病人取仰卧位,扫描于正常吸气后屏气进行,层厚7mm,纵隔窗的窗宽400HU,窗位40HU。所有统计分析采用SPSS22.0统计软件,采用独立样本t检验,P<0.05为差异有统计学意义。结果:我们回顾性分析240例CT扫描,其中103例心包隐窝,137例淋巴结。12例高位心包上隐窝(12%),89例后部主动脉上隐窝(86%)以及2例右后部主动脉上隐窝,其中,3%患者高位心包上隐窝同时合并后部主动脉上隐窝。在心包隐窝组中,39例男性(38%),64例子女性(62%),平均年龄61.60±15.65岁(23-101岁);在淋巴结组中,73例男性(53.31%),64例(46.7%),平均年龄71.33±11.15岁(38-95岁);两组之间存在统计学差异(p<0.001)。与淋巴结相比(短径11.37±3.56,长径17.10±5.14),心包隐窝的平均大小(短径9.54±2.88,短径16.9±4)更小。心包隐窝的密度类似于水的密度,淋巴结的密度类似于软组织密度,心包隐窝平均密度是9.21±4.78HU(0-23HU),淋巴结平均密度是57.05±15.56HU(34-108 HU),心包隐窝平均密度低于淋巴结平均密度,具有显著差异(p<0.001)。所有的心包隐窝的密度是均匀的(100%),淋巴结中,62例(45.3%)密度不均匀,75例(54.7%)密度均匀。我们发现CT特征表现,如位置、形状、边缘、密度、钙化及CT随访变化,是重要的鉴别因素,具有显著性差异(p<0.05),心包隐窝常位于升主动脉后部(88例,85.5%)或气管旁右侧(15例,14.5%),淋巴结位于气管旁(84例,61.3%)和气管旁右侧(53例,38.7%),两组之间有统计学差异(p<0.001)。心包隐窝的形态有卵圆形42(40.8%),新月形20(19.4%),三角形8(17.5%),圆形5(4.9%),半球形13(12.6%),不规则形1(1.0%),然而,淋巴结的形态有卵圆形86(62.8%),新月形2(1.5%),三角形16(11.7%),圆形13(9.5%),半球形4(2.9%),不规则形16(11.7%);两组之间有显著差异(p<0.05)。心包隐窝边缘光滑(100%),淋巴结的边缘是多样的,有光滑(111,81%)、边界不清(24,17.5%)或者是分叶状(2,1.5%)。心包隐窝均无钙化,然而31例(22.6%)淋巴结有钙化,106例(77.4%)淋巴结无钙化。心包隐窝中,101例(98%)的大小无明显改变,1例(1%)增加,1例(1%)减低;而淋巴结中,19例(13.9%)增大,12例(18.8%)缩小和3例(2.2%)消失。38例(27.7%)患者未进行随访。占位效应及增强无显著的意义.结论:主动脉上隐窝不易与纵隔淋巴结鉴别,卵圆形,边缘光滑,水样密度,无钙化,密度均匀和随访无改变是鉴别心包隐窝和纵隔淋巴结的特异性表现,对于正确评估及诊断,了解多样的CT表现和解剖位置是有必要的。

Zn-Cu-codoped SnO_2 nanoparticles: Structural, optical, and ferromagnetic behaviors

Zn-Cu-codoped SnO2 nanoparticles have been synthesized by chemical precipitation method. All nanoparticles are crystalline, with the average size increases from 2.55 nm to 4.13 nm as the calcination temperature increases from 400℃ to 600℃. The high calcination temperature can enhance the crystalline quality and grain growth. The oxygen content decreases with decreasing calcination temperature; at a low temperature of 400℃, Zn-Cu-codoped SnO2 nanoparticles are in a rather oxygen-poor state having many oxygen vacancies. The optical band gap energies of Zn-Cu-codoped SnO2 nanoparticles calcined at 400℃ and 600℃ are decreased from 3.93 eV to 3.62 eV due to quantum confinement effects. Both samples exhibit room-temperature ferromagnetism, with a larger saturation magnetization at 400℃ due to the presence of large density of defects such as oxygen vacancies. Zn-Cu-codoped SnO2 nanoparticles exhibit large optical band gap energies and room temperature ferromagnetism, which make them potential candidates for applications in optoelectronics and spintronics.

Characteristics and Growing Stocks Volume of Forest Stand in Dry Temperate Forest of Chilas Gilgit-Baltistan

Chilas forest sub division in Diamer district, of Gilgit-Baltistan is located at northern regions of Pakistan. We estimated tree density, diameter, height and volume of the dominant tree species in four blocks (Thore, Chilas, Thak Niat and Gunar) of Chilas forest sub division. The tree density of deodar was maximum with average 26 tree·ha-1 and minimum was of Chalgoza 4 trees·ha-1. The maximum average height showed by the dominant species (Fir, Kail, Deodar, and Chilgoza) of the study area to be 20.40, 16.06, 12.24 and 12.12 m respectively. Moreover the average maximum volume attained by the Kail, Fir, Deodar and Chalgoza trees was 1.92, 1.57, 0.46 and 0.291 m3·tree-1 respectively. Regression analysis was carried out to determine the relationship between diameter (cm), height (m), tree density (trees·ha-1) and volume (m3·ha-1). The findings of the study will help the future scientific management of the forest for sustained yield. The study also provides information about the unexplored growing stock and structure of the forests. Additionally, this study will help to understand the patterns of tree species composition and diversity in the northern part of Pakistan with dry temperate climate.

AIM: To identify genes associated with gastric pre-cancerous lesions in Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori )susceptible ethnic Malays. METHODS: Twenty-three Malay subjects with H. pylori infection and gastric precancerous lesions identified during endoscopy were included as "cases". Thirtyseven Malay subjects who were H. pylori negative and had no precancerous lesions were included as "controls". Venous blood was collected for genotyping with Affymetrix 50K Xba1 kit. Genotypes with call rates 0.5 was considered as significant markers. RESULTS: Of the 23 H. pylori -positive subjects recruited, one sample was excluded from further analysis due to a low genotyping call rate. Of the 22 H. pylori positive samples, atrophic gastritis only was present in 50.0%, complete intestinal metaplasia was present in 18.25%, both incomplete intestinal metaplasia and dysplasia was present in 22.7%, and dysplasia only was present in 9.1%. SNPs rs9315542 (UFM1 gene), rs6878265 (THBS4 gene), rs1042194 (CYP2C19 gene) and rs10505799 (MGST1 gene) were significantly associated with atrophic gastritis, complete intestinal metaplasia, incomplete metaplasia with foci of dysplasia and dysplasia, respectively. Allele frequencies in "cases" vs "controls" for rs9315542, rs6878265, rs1042194 and rs10505799 were 0.4 vs 0.06, 0.6 vs 0.01, 0.6 vs 0.01 and 0.5 vs 0.02, respectively. CONCLUSION: Genetic variants possibly related to gastric precancerous lesions in ethnic Malays susceptible to H. pylori infection were identified for testing in subsequent trials.

This paper is about short review of earthquake statistics and efforts for earthquake mitigation, hazard and risk assessment studies in Pakistan. Pakistan and adjoining region lying between longitude 60°E to 78°E and latitude 20°N to 45°N are selected for the study as this region has a history of many large earthquakes because of its location in the region of intersection of three plates namely Indian, Eurasian and Arabian Sea plate. This paper is based on the study of both seismological history of the region which includes recent and historical seismicity based on earthquake catalogue as well as geological knowledge supplemented with available fault system information. In this study, Pakistan and adjoining regions are divided into 14 seismogenic zones. Seismicity of each zone is studied considering also the major cities in the respective zone and type of infrastructure which is mainly responsible for earthquake disaster rather than earthquake itself.
