In order to investigate the influence of functional polymorphisms of macrophage migration inhibitory factor （M/F）, Fcg receptors CD16A （FCGR3A） and CD32A （FCGR2A） genes on susceptibility to pulmonary tuberculosis （PTB） in the Moroccan population, we analyzed 123 patients with PTB and 154 healthy controls. The genotyping for M/F-173 （G/C）（rs755622）, FCGR2A- 131H/R （rs 1801274） and FCGR3A-158V/F （rs396991） was carried out using TaqMan SNP Genotyping Assay method. We found a statistically significant in- crease of the MIF-173CC homozygote genotype and M/F-173＂C allele frequencies in PTB patients compared with healthy controls （17.07% versus 5.84%, P = 0.003; and 35.37% versus 26.30%, P = 0.02; respectively）. In contrast, no association was observed between FCGR2A-131H/R and FCGR3A-158V/F polymorphisms and tuberculosis disease. Our finding suggests that M/F-173℃ variant may play an important role in the development of active tuberculosis.

Background:After alleged stop of transmission of schistosomiasis and further down the line in post elimination settings,sensitive tools are required to monitor infection status to prevent potential re-emergence.In Rahala,where transmission cycle of Schistosoma haematobium is interrupted since 2004 but where 30%of snails are still infected by S.bovis,potential human S.bovis infection can’t be excluded.As methods based on egg-counts do not provide the required sensitivity,antibody or antigen assays are envisaged as the most appropriate tools for this type of monitoring.Methods:In this pilot study,the performances of three assays were compared:two commercially available antibody tests(ELISA and haemagglutination format)indicating exposure,and an antigen test(lateral flow strip format)demonstrating active infection.All 37 recruited study participants resided in Rahala(Akka,province Tata,Morocco).Participants had been diagnosed and cured from schistosomiasis in the period between 1983 and 2003.In 2015 these asymptomatic participants provided fresh clinical samples(blood and urine)for analysis with the aforementioned diagnostics tests.Results:No eggs were identified in the urine of the 37 participants.The haemagglutination test indicated 6 antibody positives whereas the ELISA indicated 28 antibody positives,one indecisive and one false positive.ELISA and haemagglutination results matched for 18 individuals,amongst which 5 out of 6 haemagglutination positives.With the antigen test(performed on paired serum and urine samples),serum from two participants(cured 21 and 32 years ago)indicated the presence of low levels of the highly specific Schistosoma circulating anodic antigen(CAA),demonstrating low worm level infections(less than 5 pg/ml corresponding to probably single worm pair).One tested also CAA positive with urine.ELISA indicated the presence of human anti-Schistosoma antibodies in these two CAA positive cases,haemagglutination results were negative.Conclusions:To prevent reemergence of schistosomiasis in Morocco c

Using N=2 supergravity formalism,we investigate certain behaviors of five-dimensional black objects from the compactification of M-theory on a Calabi-Yau three-fold.The manifold has been constructed as the intersection of two homogeneous polynomials of degrees(w+2,1)and(2,1)in a product of two weighted projective spaces given by WIP^(4)(w,1,i,1,1)×IP^(1).First,we determine the allowed electric charge regions of the BPS and non BPS black holes obtained by wrapping M2-branes on appropriate two cycles in such a proposed Calabi-Yau three-fold.After that,we calculate the entropy of these solutions which takes a maximal value corresponding to w=1 defining the ordinary projective space P^(4).For generic values of w,we show that the non BPS states are unstable.Then,we conduct a similar study of five-dimensional black strings.Concerning the allowed magnetic charge regions of the BPS and non BPS black stringy solutions derived from M5-branes on dual divisors,we calculate the tension taking a minimal value for P^(4).By determining the recombination factor,we show that the non-BPS black string states are stable in the allowed regions in the magnetic charge space.

Online Social Networks(OSNs)are based on the sharing of different types of information and on various interactions(comments,reactions,and sharing).One of these important actions is the emotional reaction to the content.The diversity of reaction types available on Facebook(namely FB)enables users to express their feelings,and its traceability creates and enriches the users’emotional identity in the virtual world.This paper is based on the analysis of 119875012 FB reactions(Like,Love,Haha,Wow,Sad,Angry,Thankful,and Pride)made at multiple levels(publications,comments,and sub-comments)to study and classify the users’emotional behavior,visualize the distribution of different types of reactions,and analyze the gender impact on emotion generation.All of these can be achieved by addressing these research questions:who reacts the most?Which emotion is the most expressed?

Carbon graphite is a crystalline form of carbon consisting of layers of hexagonal carbon atoms arranged in a two-dimensional “graphene” structure. Graphene layers are stacked on top of each other, forming a three-dimensional structure with a high degree of anisotropy. The carbon atoms within each layer are linked together by strong covalent bonds, creating a strong, stable lattice structure. However, the layers themselves are held together by weak van der Waals forces, enabling them to slide easily over each other. The properties of carbon graphite are highly dependent on the orientation and alignment of the graphene layers. When the layers are aligned parallel to each other, the material exhibits high strength and stiffness along the alignment direction, but is weaker and more flexible in other directions. Carbon graphite is used in a variety of applications where high strength, rigidity and electrical conductivity are required. Some common applications include electrical contacts, electric motor brushes, and as a structural material in aerospace and defense applications. The aim of our work is to describe the structure of graphite, its physical and chemical properties and its applications.

The systematic method for constructing Lewis representations is a method for representing chemical bonds between atoms in a molecule. It uses symbols to represent the valence electrons of the atoms involved in the bond. Using a number of rules in a defined order, it is often better suited to complicated cases than the Lewis representation of atoms. This method allows us to determine the formal charge and oxidation number of each atom in the edifice more efficiently than other methods.

This article showcases a clinical case of ectopic pregnancy lodged in the cornual. A pregnancy implanted in this location is a rarity, making it difficult to diagnose. By describing this case and screening of the literature, we explain the various diagnostic and therapeutic methods, both medical and surgical. Highlighting the importance of conservative treatment flush with the uterine horn, and conclude with some practical recommendations.

Mechanical agitation in baffled vessels with turbines plays a vital role in achieving homogeneous fluid mixing and promoting various transfer operations.Therefore,designing vessels with optimal energy efficiency and flow dynamics is essential to enhance operational performance and eliminate flow perturbations.Hence,the present research focuses on a numerical investigation of the impact of inclined slots with different angles installed at the side-wall of a cylindrical vessel equipped with a Rushton turbine.This study explores power consumption and vortex size while considering various rotation directions of the impeller with different rotation speeds.The numerical simulations are conducted for Reynolds numbers ranging from 104 to 105,using the RANS k-εturbulence model to govern the flow inside the stirred vessel,accounting for mass and momentum balances.The results have shown that the installation of slots reduces power consumption and vortex size compared to conventional vessel configu-rations.Moreover,increasing the slot angle from 0 to 32.5°further reduces energy consumption and vortex size,especially with negative rotation speeds.On the other hand,increasing the Reynolds numbers leads to a decrease in power consumption and an increase in vortex size.The present research therefore proposes a design for con-structing Rushton-turbine stirred vessels offering optimal operation,characterized by reduced energy consumption and minimized vortex size.

Numerical simulation has been performed to improve the performance of Cu_(2)ZnSnS_(4)(CZTS)solar cells by replacing CdS with Zn_(1−x)Sn_(x)O buffer layer.The influences of thickness,donor concentration and defect density of buffer layers on the performance of CZTS solar cells were investigated.It has been found that Zn_(1−x)Sn_(x)O buffer layer for Sn content of 0.20 is better for CZTS solar cell.A higher efficiency can be achieved with thinner buffer layer.The optimized solar cell demonstrated a maximum power conversion efficiency of 13%.

This paper deals with the problem of piecewise auto regressive systems with exogenous input(PWARX) model identification based on clustering solution. This problem involves both the estimation of the parameters of the affine sub-models and the hyper planes defining the partitions of the state-input regression. The existing identification methods present three main drawbacks which limit its effectiveness. First, most of them may converge to local minima in the case of poor initializations because they are based on the optimization using nonlinear criteria. Second, they use simple and ineffective techniques to remove outliers. Third, most of them assume that the number of sub-models is known a priori. To overcome these drawbacks, we suggest the use of the density-based spatial clustering of applications with noise(DBSCAN) algorithm. The results presented in this paper illustrate the performance of our methods in comparison with the existing approach. An application of the developed approach to an olive oil esterification reactor is also proposed in order to validate the simulation results.
