The magnetic impacts upon the transport of heat and mass of an electrically conducting nanofluid within an annulus among an inner rhombus with convex and outer cavity with periodic temperature/concentration profiles on its left wall are assessed by the ISPH *** right wall has Tcand C,cflat walls are adiabatic,and the temperature and concentration of the left wall are altered sinusoidally with *** features of the heat and mass transfer and fluid flow through an annulus are assessed across a wide scale of Hartmann number Ha,Soret number Sr,oscillation amplitude A,Dufour number Du,nanoparticles parameterΦ,oscillation frequency f,Rayleigh number Ra,and radius of a superellipse a at Lewis number Le=20,magnetic field’s angle g=45°,Prandtl number Pr=6.2,a superellipse coefficient n=3/2,and buoyancy parameter N=*** results reveal that the velocity’s maximum reduces by 70.93%as Ha boosts from 0 to 50,and by 66.24%as coefficient a boosts from 0.1 to *** the velocity’s maximum augments by 83.04%as Sr increases from 0.6 to 2 plus a decrease in Du from 1 *** oscillation amplitude A,and frequency f are significantly affecting the nanofluid speed,and heat and mass transfer inside an *** the parameters A and f is augmenting the values of mean Nusselt number-(Sh)and mean Sherwood number^-(Nu).Increasing the radius of a superellipse a enhances the values of^(Nu)and^(Sh).

Water entry of decelerating spheres simulations using improved ISPH method

In this paper, we simulated the vertical impact of spheres on a water surface using three-dimensional incompressible smoothed particle hydrodynamics(3-D ISPH) method. The sphere motion is taken to be a rigid body motion and it is modeled by ISPH method. The governing equations are discretized and solved numerically using ISPH method. A stabilized incompressible SPH method by relaxing the density invariance condition is adopted. Here, we computed the motions of a rigid body by direct integration of the fluid pressure at the position of each particle on the body surface. The equations of translational and rotational motion were integrated in time domain to update the position of the rigid body at each time step. In this study, we improved the boundary treatment between fluid and fixed solid boundary by using virtual marker technique. In addition, an improved algorithm based on the virtual marker technique for the boundary particles is proposed to treat the moving boundary of the rigid body motion. The force exerted on the moving rigid boundary particles by the surrounding particles, is calculated by the SPH approximation at the virtual marker points. The applicability and efficiency of the current ISPH method are tested by comparison with reference experimental results.

Natural Convection in an H-Shaped Porous EnclosureFilled with a Nanofluid

This study simulates natural convection flow resulting from heat partitions in an H-shaped enclosure filled with a nanofluid using an incompressible smoothed particle hydrodynamics(ISPH)*** right area of the H-shaped enclosure is saturated with non-Darcy porous *** center variable partitions of the H-shaped enclosure walls are kept at a high-temperature *** left and right walls of the H-shaped enclosure are positioned at a low temperature Tc and the other walls are *** ISPH method,the source term in pressure Poisson equation(PPE)is *** influences of the controlling parameters on the temperature distributions,the velocity field and average Nusselt number are *** performed simulations proofed that the length of the heated partitions augments the velocity field and temperature distributions in an H-shaped *** number rises the fluid velocity and heat transfer in an H-shaped *** porous layer on the right side of the H-shaped enclosure at a lower Darcy parameter causes a high resistance force for the fluid flow and heat transfer characteristic inside an H-shaped *** nanoparticles reduces the velocity field and enhances the heat transfer inside an H-shaped enclosure.

Simulation of Water-Soil-Structure Interactions Using Incompressible Smoothed Particle Hydrodynamics

In the present work,an incompressible smoothed particle hydrodynamic(SPH)method is introduced to simulate water-soil-structure *** the current calculation,the water is modelled as a Newtonian *** soil is modelled in two different *** the first case,the granular material is considered as a fluid where a Bingham type constitutive model is proposed based on mohr-Coulomb yield-stress criterion,and the viscosity is derived from the cohesion and friction *** addition,the fictitious suspension layers between water and soil depending on the concentration of soil are *** the second case,Hooke’s law introduces elastic *** ISPH,the pressure is evaluated by solving the pressure Poisson equation using a semi-implicit algorithm based on the projection method and an eddy viscosity for water is modelled by a large eddy simulation with the Smagorinsky *** the proposed ISPH method,the pressure is stabilized to simulate the multiphase flow between soil and *** experiments for water-soil suspension flow of Louvain erosional dam break with flat soil foundation,is simulated and validated using 3D-ISPH *** between water-soil interactions with different solid structures are *** results revealed that,the suspension layers with the Bingham model of soil gives more accurate results in the experiment as compared to the case of the Bingham model without suspension *** addition,the elastic soil model by the Hooke’s law can simulate soil hump accurately as compared to the Bingham *** the simulations,avoiding erosion behind the structure for preventing the structure break during flood are investigated by using an extended structure or a wedge structure.

Nanofluid Flows Within Porous Enclosures Using Non-Linear Boussinesq Approximation

In this paper,the Galerkin finite element method(FEm)together with the characteristic-based split(CBS)scheme are applied to study the case of the non-linear Boussinesq approximation within sinusoidal heating inclined enclosures filled with a non-Darcy porous media and *** enclosure has an inclination angle and its side-walls have varying sinusoidal temperature *** working fluid is a nanofluid that is consisting of water as a based nanofluid and Al2O3 as *** porous medium is modeled using the Brinkman Forchheimer extended Darcy *** obtained results are analyzed over wide ranges of the non-linear Boussinesq parameter 0≤ζ≤1,the phase deviation 00≤Φ≤1800,the inclination angle 00≤γ≤900,the nanoparticles volume fraction 0%≤φ≤4%,the amplitude ratio 0≤a≤1 and the Rayleigh number 104≤Ra≤*** results revealed that the average Nusselt number is enhanced by 0.73%,26.46%and 35.42%at Ra=104,105 and 106,respectively,when the non-linearBoussinesq parameter is varied from 0 to *** addition,rate of heat transfer in the case of a non-uniformly heating is higher than that of a uniformly ***-linear Boussinesq parameter rises the flow speed and heat transfer in an *** deviation makes clear changes on the isotherms and heat transfer rate on the right wall of an *** inclination angle varies the flow speed and it has a slight effect on heat transfer in an enclosure.

HTolerance of Pima and Upland cotton to trifloxysulfuron (Envoke) herbicide under field conditions

Trifloxysulfuron(Envoke)is an acetolactate synthase-inhibitor herbicide and can be used to control many broadleaf weeds and nutsedges in cotton ***,there is a lack of information on genotypic variation in response to the *** this field study,60 Pima(Gossypium barbadense L.)lines,122 Upland(*** L.)lines,and 9 Upland×Pima segregating populations were divided into five tests(18A,18B,18G,18RB,and 18HQ)to evaluate tri-floxysulfuron tolerance at the 7-true leaf stage(42 days after planting)under the same field conditions in *** the five tests,Pima cotton genotypes tested in this study did not show any visual crop injury based on percentage of plants with chlorosis at 6 days after treatment(DAT),indicating consistent and high levels of trifloxysulfuron ***,the response to trifloxysulfuron within Upland cotton is highly *** Upland cotton is overall more sensitive to trifloxysulfuron with crop injury up to 80%than Pima cotton,19 lines had injury below 5%including one line with no visual injury,and 19 lines had injury between 5%and 10%.In test 18HQ with 15 transgenic Upland cultivars and 17 non-transgenic Upland lines,the analysis of variance detected a significant genotypic *** broad-sense heritability estimates for trifloxysulfuron tolerance based on crop injury at 6 DAT was 0.555,suggesting that trifloxysulfuron tolerance in Upland cotton is moderately *** study represents the first report that Pima cotton and many Upland cotton lines are highly tolerant to trifloxysulfuron with no or little crop injury.

Synthesis, Characterization and Corrosion Inhibitive Properties of New Thiazole Based Polyamides Containing Diarylidenecyclohexanone moiety

The present work aimed to synthesize a new interesting series of thiazole based polyamides containing diarylidenecyclohexanone moiety 5a-5f using low temperature solution polycondensation technique. The new polymers were synthesized by the reaction of thiazole based monomer namely, bis（2-aminothiazol-4-ylbenzylidene）cyclohexanone 3 with different aliphatic and aromatic diacid chlorides using NmP, and in the presence of anhydrous Li Cl as catalyst. Adipoyl, sebacoyl, oxaloyl, terephthaloyl, isophthaloyl dichlorides and biphenyl dicarbonyl dichloride were used as diacid chlorides. The structure of the model compound 4 as well as the new polymers was confirmed by correct elemental and spectral analyses. The thermal properties of those polymers were evaluated by TGA and DTG measurements and correlated to their structural units, beside X-ray diffraction analysis, solubility and viscometry measurements. The inherent viscosities for the synthesized polymers were in the range 0.6–1.03 d L/g. On the other hand the corrosion inhibitive properties of monomer 3 as well as polyamides 5d and 5f as selected examples were carried out on carbon-steel in 0.5 mol/L H2SO4 at 40 °C. The calculated inhibition efficiency（IE%） for polymer 5d was in the range（82 ± 6）% in all selected concentrations. The best value of IE% was obtained at 1 mg/L to reach 98.24% for polymer 5d and at 0.5 mg/L to reach 87.75% for polymer 5f.

mHD Boundary Layer Flow of a Power-Law Nanofluid Containing Gyrotactic microorganisms Over an Exponentially Stretching Surface

This study focusses on the numerical investigations of boundary layer flow for magnetohydrodynamic(mHD)and a power-law nanofluid containing gyrotactic microorganisms on an exponentially stretching surface with zero nanoparticle mass flux and convective *** nonlinear system of the governing equations is transformed and solved by Runge-Kutta-Fehlberg *** impacts of the transverse magnetic field,bioconvection parameters,Lewis number,nanofluid parameters,Prandtl number and power-law index on the velocity,temperature,nanoparticle volume fraction,density of motile microorganism profiles is *** addition,the impacts of these parameters on local skin-friction coefficient,local Nusselt,local Sherwood numbers and local density number of the motile microorganisms are *** results reveal that the power law index is considered an important factor in this *** to neglecting the buoyancy force term,the bioconvection and nanofluid parameters have slight effects on the velocity *** resultant Lorentz force,from increasing the magnetic field parameter,try to decrease the velocity profiles and increase the rescaled density of motile microorganisms,temperature and nanoparticle volume fraction ***,an augmentation of power-law index drops the reduced local skin-friction and reduced Sherwood number,while it increases reduced Nusselt number and reduced local density number of motile microorganisms.

Entropy Generation for Flow and Heat Transfer of Sisko-Fluid Over an Exponentially Stretching Surface
