Effects of Transportation Stress during the Hot-Dry Season on Some Haematological and Physiological Parameters in moroccan Dromedary Camels （Camelus dromedarius）

The purpose of this study was to determine the effects of road transportation under heat conditions on some haematological [Ht （haematocrit）, blood cells count and EOF （erythrocytes osmotic fragility）] and physiological [Tr （rectal temperature）, HR （heart） and RR （respiratory rates）, and circulating levels of Cor （cortisol）, Glu （glucose） and minerals] parameters in moroccan dromedary camels. The animals were subjected to road transportation stressor for 2 h by truck during the hot-dry season. Blood samples were collected before loading and transport, and at the end of transport. Transportation induced a significant increase （P 〈 0.05） of erythrocytes count, Ht, EOF, Tr, HR and RR by comparison to values observed before transportation. The same stress conditions induced a significant increase （P 〈 0.05） of plasma Cor （ng/mL） and blood Glu （mm）（220 ± 30 vs. 137 ± 20, 9.7 ± 1.2 vs. 6.4 ± 1. 1 respectively） and a significant decrease （P 〈 0.05） of plasma magnesium （mm）（0.5 ± 0.1 vs. 0.9 ± 0.1） comparatively to pre-transportation values. These results indicate that road transportation associated to heat may be considered as a potent stressor which is able to induce several cellular alterations in camels. Further studies of an eventual protective role of vitamin C against haemolysis induced by transportation stress in camel are needed.

Genetic Analysis of Familial mediterranean Fever among Egyptian Patients

Background: Familial mediterranean fever (FmF) is an autoinflammatory genetic disorder that associated with different genetic mutations. Frequency of clinical manifestation differs according to age group, geographic region and ethnic population. Objectives: To study the clinical manifestation of FmF in relation to genotype (m680I, m694V, m694I and V726A). Result: The main presentation of studied group was abdominal pain 65.9% (203), followed by fever 60.4% (186) patients. (mutation m694V) was the commonest 47.6% (297), followed by (mutation V726A) in 32.8% (169%), then (mutation m6802) in 23.4% (121) lastly (mutation m6941) was in 22.1% (114) patients. Fever was highly associated with mutation (V729A) and it was statistically significant (*p value 0.047). Conclusion: Abdominal pain and fever were the most common manifestation of FmF patients. (mutation m694V), (mutation V726A) were the most detected mutation. Third age group;fever was associated with genetic mutation (V726A), abdominal pain with (m6941).

The Impact of Obesity on Performing Lymphadenectomy and Its Outcome in Ovarian Cancer Patients

Background: This study discusses the effect of obesity on the number of lymph nodes harvested during systematic LND and the LND-related complications in ovarian cancer patients. methods: This retrospective study enrolled women with ovarian cancer who were consecutively subjected to open surgical resection that included systematic LND (pelvic and para-aortic) in the Oncology Center in mansoura University (OCmU) during the period between January 2012 and June 2017. Patients were categorized according to the recommendations of World Health Organization by their BmI as non-obese (BmI 30.0 kg/m2) and obese (BmI ≥ 30.0 kg/m2). Results: Seventy-seven women with ovarian cancer were enrolled in the study according to our inclusion and exclusion criteria. 43 females (55.8%) were grouped as obese and 34 (44.2%) as non-obese. Lymph nodes retrieved in total and in different stations separately (pelvic and para-aortic) were all similar among patients in both groups. LND-related intraoperative complications were observed in 8 patients (18.6%) in the obese group and 3 patients in the non-obese group (8.8%) (P = 0.347). Hospital stay was the same in the two groups with a median of 4 days (IQR 3 - 5). Postoperative complications occurred in 13 patients (30.2%) in the obese group and only in one patient (3%) in the non-obese group (P = 0.004). Conclusion: Obese ovarian cancer patients may safely undergo comprehensive staging involving extensive lymph node dissection in open surgeries without significant increase in the rates of intraoperative complications. Whereas, postoperative complications (wound infection and thromboembolic events) tend to occur at higher rates with obese patients. Trial registration: This study was retrospectively registered and approved at faculty of medicine mansoura University, Egypt with IRB approval number R.18.02.46.

To evaluate the effectiveness of apatite mineral in removing different contaminants from low quality water in the industrial city of abha,Asir region,southwestern of Saudi Arabia two phosphatic clay dominated by apatite mineral were *** situ remediation experiment proved that apatite mineral has the highest affinity for Pb and removed more than 94% from initial Pb *** rest of contaminants followed the descending order of:Zn>mn>Cu>Co>*** sorption of Pb,Zn and mn onto apatite mineral was well characterized by the Langmuir ***-metal addition induced competitive sorption among the three metals,with the interfering effect of Pb>Zn>*** metal retention by apatite mineral calcium and phosphate were determined in equilibrium *** increased and phosphate decreased with increasing metal *** greatest increase of calcium and the largest phosphate reduction were found with Pb+2 sorption. This is suggested that Pb+2 retention by apatite was through the dissolution of apatite which mean release of Ca and P into solution and formation of pyromorphite(lead phosphate)as consuming of *** results suggested that there are two general mechanisms for the ability of apatite mineral to take up Pb2+,Zn+2 and mn+*** first is (ion-ion exchange mechanism)concerned with adsorption of ions on the solid surface followed by their diffusion into apatite mineral and the release of cations originally contained within *** second is (dissolution- precipitation mechanism)concerned to the dissolution of apatite in the aqueous solution containing Pb2+,Zn+2 and mn+2 followed by the precipitation or ***+2 desorption responding to solution pH may indicate that not all the Pb+2 was chemisorbed and fraction of Pb+2 was weakly adsorbed or complexed on the surface of apatite mineral.

Introduction: Uric acid is a product of purine metabolism and elevated serum concentration are very common in, and linked with hypertension and chronic kidney disease, conditions associated with heavy health burden and cardiovascular complications particularly in sub Sahara Africa. An assessment of factors relating hyperuricemia to hypertension and chronic kidney disease would therefore be necessary as way of mitigating the poor quality of life, morbidity and mortality associated with these diseases in low income nations. methods: A single centre, descriptive comparative study in which the demographic, clinical and laboratory data of hypertensive and non-dialyzed chronic kidney disease (CKD) patients were analyzed. Serum biochemical parameters with uric acid, hematocrit and urine dip strip protein were assessed. Predictors of hyperuricemia were determined using multivariate analysis. Results: One hundred and thirty nine hypertensives and 69 CKD were studied. The mean age of the participants was 54.3 ± 11.7 years, hypertensives (52.9 ± 15.7 years) and CKD (57.3 ± 16.1 years). Both groups had more males, P = 0.8. majority (78.3%) of the CKD cohorts had stage 4 or 5 (non-dialyzed) disease. The systolic and diastolic blood pressure, creatinine and uric acid were lower in hypertension than in CKD, P = 0.07, P = 0.05, P matocrit, albumin and GFR were higher in HTN than CKD, P mia was 56.2%. The mean uric acid was 505.9 ± 23.6 mmol/L, 382 7 ± 10.5 mmol/L for hypertensive and 755.9 ± 14.8 mmol/L for CKD, P minemia and anemia were 51%, 75%, 46% and 59%, and were higher in males. Rickettsioses and anaplasmoses are a focus of increasing medical interest worldwide. To date, although the agents of these diseases have been reported in ticks in China, the presence of spotted fever group rickettsiae(SFGR), Anaplasma phagocytophilum and Anaplasma bovis in Hyalomma anatolicum anatolicum were little known. In this study, we investigated the occurrence of these pathogens in Hy. a. anatolicum from Shache County, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region(XUAR), China, and performed phylogenetic analysis based on the omp A and 16 S rRNA genes, respectively. Our results indicated one tick specimen sample was positive for SFGR, two for A. bovis and three for A. phagocytophilum by PCR. Sequences and phylogenetic analyses showed that the SFGR agent detected was closely related to Rickettsia massiliae. However, one isolate PCR-positive for A. bovis was affiliated to the group of A. bovis, with another isolate clustered with the group of A. platys, and three isolates PCR-positive for A. phagocytophilum were closely related to Ehrlichia sp. To our knowledge, this is the first report of R. massiliae, A. bovis and A. platys-like pathogen presence in Hy. a. anatolicum, and provides evidence for the existence of these pathogens in Shache County, XUAR, China.

目的通过检测肠外致病性大肠埃希菌（ExPEC）30种毒力因子了解其基因的检出情况及遗传谱系分型情况，并初步探讨两者关系，探究ExPEC的分子流行病学特点。方法210株分离自血液、尿液及其他部位的菌株参与研究，采用多重PCR方法检测临床分离菌株毒力因子基因的存在情况并进行遗传谱系分型，比较菌株遗传谱系分型各组间毒力因子基因的检出情况是否有差异。结果ExPEC中毒力基因fimH,fyuA、traT、iutA、kpsmTⅡ、PAI，的检出率较高；遗传谱系分型表明4组百分比分别为24％、11％、29％和36％。在各组之间进行毒力因子基因检出情况比较显示，毒力因子中有8种仅与B2组联系密切，4种仅与D组联系密切，6种与B2组和D组均有关。结论ExPEC遗传潜系分型主要属于B2组和D组，ExPEC毒力因子基因检出情况与菌株遗传谱系分型关系密切。

Guided Botulinum Toxin Injections for Limbs Spasticity:The Winning Duets

Botulinum toxin found its way into a lot of medical treatments improving the quality of life in many clinical *** treating spasticity,this toxin is injected in the affected muscle to decrease its tension and *** isolation of the affected muscles for injection is done either by anatomical palpation of the muscle which is also known as non-guided injection technique,or by using the ultrasound or the electromyography also known guided injection *** this study which is a prospective observational study that included patients over a 6 months period,28 patients aged between 2 and 78 years,with spasticity na?ve to botulinum toxin injections or had already been injected more than 3 months ago,were injected using guided injection *** optimal doses of botulinum toxin were administered based on the age,the severity of the condition,and affected muscle *** pediatric population these were also calculated according to the body *** patients were evaluated pre and 4 weeks post injection using the mAS Score(modified Ashworth Scale).Statistical analysis showed a very significant response to treatment as compared to the pre-injection condition,for upper limbs,lower limbs,and all muscle groups with almost absent significant local or systemic side effects(with a p value less than 0.001).Conclusion:guided techniques for botulinum toxin injections showed a great efficacy in the treatment of spasticity along with no regional or systemic side effects and are relatively well tolerated by *** finding leads to a better management of spasticity and to a decrease in oral medication intake and secondarily a decrease in their possible side effects.

BackgroundZanzibar has made substantial progress in malaria control with vector control, improved diagnosis, and artemisinin-based combination therapy. Parasite prevalence in the population has remained around 1% but imported infections from mainland Tanzania contribute to sustained local transmission. Understanding travel patterns between mainland Tanzania and Zanzibar, and the risk of malaria infection, may help to control malaria importation to *** rolling cross-sectional survey linked to routine reactive case detection of malaria was carried out in Zanzibar between may 2017 and October 2018. Households of patients diagnosed with malaria at health facilities were surveyed and household members were tested for malaria using rapid diagnostic tests and a sub-sample by quantitative PCR (qPCR). Interviews elicited a detailed travel history of all household members who had travelled within the past two months, including trips within and outside of Zanzibar. We estimated the association of malaria infection with travel destinations in pre-defined malaria endemicity categories, trip duration, and other co-variates using logistic *** 17,891 survey participants, 1177 (7%) reported a recent trip, of which 769 (65%) visited mainland Tanzania. Among travellers to mainland Tanzania with travel destination details and a qPCR result available, 241/378 (64%) reported traveling to districts with a ‘high’ malaria endemicity and for 12% the highest endemicity category was ‘moderate’. Travelers to the mainland were more likely to be infected with malaria parasites (29%, 108/378) than those traveling within Zanzibar (8%, 16/206) or to other countries (6%, 2/17). Among travellers to mainland Tanzania, those visiting highly endemic districts had a higher odds of being qPCR-positive than those who travelled only to districts where malaria-endemicity was classified as low or very low (adjusted odd ratio = 7.0, 95% confidence interval: 1.9–25.5).
