Physical Factors Affecting the Interior Radon-Concentrations

Researchers have realized that radon-contaminated air inside buildings is a principal way of human exposure to certain healthy-risks. A model is developed to estimate radon concentrations which consider various parameters: in indoor air radon (radon-222) concentration, air permeability of ground, air pressure difference between outdoor and indoor at ground level, ventilation of building ground and number of air changes per hour due to ventilation. The radon-222 transport into building might dominated by diffusion, pressure driven flow or/and a mixture of both depending on the actual values of the various parameters. so, in several and regular periods of time: January, April, July and October, radon-222 concentrations have been measured in ten rooms of five elementary schools and in five rooms of one high school at Qena city (Upper Egypt). This has been carried out using alpha scintillation counters. We have noticed that in three rooms the value has exceeded 200 Bqm -3 at the basement and only one room at the first floor, and all values have changed with respect to time and localization: They have decreased from July to January and from basement to first floor. For example, radon-222 concentrations obtained by exposing track detectors varied in the range from 20 Bqm-3 up to 100 Bqm-3. The experimental results of the present work have been well fitted with the presented model (calculations) which supports the validity of the presented model. so, to decrease the level of indoor air radon-222 concentrations and to reduce its harmful effects it is recommended to follow the suggestions in the present study and to limit as possible the use of ceramic in the building construction, increase the hours of ventilation and to restrict the use of underground floors in buildings, the underground Metro and garage parking should be carefully (and even mandatory) ventilated.

Percutaneous Endoscopic Lumbar Discectomy versus Conventional Open Discectomy: A Prospective Randomized Comparative Trial

Introduction: The majority of series considered the conventional open discectomy as the gold standard for the treatment of lumbar disc prolapse. Despite of the popularity of the lumbar endoscopic discectomy nowadays, many neurosurgeons still prefer conventional open discectomy. Purpose: Our study has been designed to compare between percutaneous endoscopic lumbar discectomy and conventional open discectomy;regarding surgical results, complications, clinical and functional outcomes. Patients and Methods: This study is a clinical prospective randomized controlled trial conducted upon 30 patients suffering from prolapsed lumbar disc, from December 2016 to May 2018. Those patients were divided randomly into 2 groups, 15 patients each. One group treated by percutaneous endoscopic interlaminar lumbar discectomy (PELD) and the other group treated by conventional open discectomy (COD). Operative time, wound size, Intraoperative blood loss, Intraoperative complications, postoperative hospital stay, Postoperative complication and the results of visual analogue score (VAs) and modified MacNab’s criteria were assessed. Results: This study included 30 patients (18 males and 12 females). The mean age was about 35 years. Although, there was postoperative improvement of the VAs and MacNab’s criteria in the two groups, there was no statistically significant difference between the preoperative and postoperative VAs of low back pain and radicular pain for the two groups in the follow up period. Conclusion: Both techniques give good results for patients;each technique has some advantages over the other.

Prediction of diabetes and hypertension using multi-layer perceptron neural networks

Background:Diabetes and hypertension are two of the commonest diseases in the *** they unfavorably affect people of different age groups,they have become a cause of concern and must be predicted and diagnosed well in ***:This research aims to determine the effectiveness of artificial neural networks(ANNs)in predicting diabetes and blood pressure diseases and to point out the factors which have a high impact on these ***:This work used two online datasets which consist of data collected from 768 *** applied neural network algorithms to predict if the individuals have those two diseases based on some *** prediction is based on five factors:age,weight,fat-ratio,glucose,and insulin,while blood pressure prediction is based on six factors:age,weight,fat-ratio,blood pressure,alcohol,and ***:A model based on the Multi-Layer Perceptron Neural Network(MLP)was *** inputs of the network were the factors for each disease,while the output was the prediction of the disease’s *** model performance was compared with other classifiers such as support Vector Machine(sVM)and K-Nearest Neighbors(KNN).We used performance metrics measures to assess the accuracy and performance of ***,a tool was implemented to help diagnose the diseases and to understand the ***:The model predicted the two diseases with correct classification rate(CCR)of 77.6%for diabetes and 68.7%for *** results indicate that MLP correctly predicts the probability of being diseased or not,and the performance can be significantly increased compared with both sVM and *** shows MLPs effectiveness in early disease prediction.

LA-ICP-Ms U-Pb zircon geochronology and Hf isotope, geochemistry and kinetics of the Daxigou anorthosite from Kuruqtagh block, NW China

Kuruqtagh block is the best area for Precambrian geology in Xinjiang Autonomous Region, NW China, since it exposed complete Precambrian lithology units. The study of this ancient base will deepen the understanding of the Precambrian evolution of the Tarim Basin. In this paper, we studied the petrology, geochemistry, zircon LA-ICPMs U-Pb chronology and zircon Hf isotope of Daxigou anorthosite(DA) which is located at the northern margin of Tarim craton and discussed the rock formation, tectonic and geological significance. Zircons from the intrusions display oscillatory zoning and high Th/U ratios(0.39–1.35), implying their magmatic origin. Zircon LA-ICP-Ms U-Pb dating results indicate that they formed during the Paleoproterozoic age with the weighted 206Pb/238 U average age of 1818±9 Ma, which is significantly different from former's Neoproterozoic age, and is coincidentally identical with its associated syenite granite age within the error range. studies on petrogeochemistry suggest that DA belongs to medium-sodium peraluminous alkaline type, rich in Pb, La, Th and LILE, and poor in HFsE(Gd, Nd, and Ta). The chondrite-normalized REE pattern is slightly to the right form. The average ∑REE is 317.2×10-6; HREE show moderate fractionation [average LREE/HREE is 14.71, average(La/Yb)N is 24.77; average(La/sm)N is 3.85, and average(Gd/Yb)N is 3.46]; and the δEu and δCe are not obvious. Their initial Hf isotope ratios and Hf two-stage model ages range from-6.6 to-4.43 and 2.63 to 2.74 Ga, respectively. Taken together, it is suggested that Daxigou anorthosite is a typical volcanic anorthosite and its primary magma could be contaminated by the partial melt Neoarchaean crust and mainly formed in the arc environment, which recoded the tectonic-magma activities response of the Tarim refers to the amalgamation of the supercontinent Columbia.

An Investigation of scaled-FLC Using PsO for Multi-area Power system Load Frequency Control

Load Frequency Control (LFC) is one of power systems important requirements which maintain the zero steady-state errors in the frequency changing and restoring the natural frequency to its normal position. Many problems are subject to LFC such as suddenly large load or suddenly disconnecting generating unit by the protection device. In this paper, multi-area Frequency Control by using the combination of PsO and fuzzy logic control (FLC) technique. PsO optimization method is used to tuning the fuzzy controller input and output gains. Four of an interconnected electrical power system used as a testing the effectiveness of the proposed method compared to a conventional PI controller and scaled-fuzzy controller. The simulation result has been shown that the controller can generate the best dynamic response in multi-load conditions.

Multi-Residue Analysis of Organophosphorus Pesticides in Vegetable Using GC-Ms

This study investigates the levels of pesticide residues in Cucumbers (Cucumis sativus), potatoes (solanum tuberosum subsp. Tuberosum) and tomatoes (Lycopersicon esculentum). The samples were minced in a food processor initially subjected to extraction followed by cleanup using solid phase extraction (sPE) column. separation was performed on a GC capillary column (Rtx-5 ms-30 m × 0.25 mm× 0.25 μm). The sample was injected by using splitless mode, helium as the carrier gas followed by quadrupole mass spectrometry detection. The mobile phase flow rates, column temperatures, and Ms parameters were all optimized to reach high sensitivity and selectivity. seven pesticides were detected in tomatoes sample, six in cucumber and four in potatoes samples. The findings indicate risks and concerns for public health.

The Length-weight Relationship of Diplodus vulgaris ／（Teleostei, sparidae） from Benghazi Coast （Libya）

Length-weight relationships （LWRs） were determined for fish species Diplodus vulgaris from the Benghazi coast along the eastern Mediterranean sea coast of Libya. samples were collected using trammel nets. The parameters a and b from the LWR formula W = aLb were estimated. The values of the exponent b of the length-weight relationships in all categories range between 2.295 in september to 3.208 in August. The total number of fish samples investigated were 290, from which 179 were males, 41 females and 70 fishes immature. The sex ratio male to female were 4.3：1. In January, August and Females the slope ＂b＂ close to equal 3, were the categories exhibited isometric relationship, in september, October and November were slope ＂b＂ not equal 3, which the categories exhibited negative allometric relationship. The mean observed length of male was 18.29 cm at mean observed weight 114.8 g, and mean observed length of female was 19.15 cm at mean observed weight 133.97 *** general equation for the length-weight relationship for both sex was： W = 0.03835L277, for male was： W = 0.036 L274, for female, W = 0.016 L302.

In recent years,software Defined Networking(sDN)has become an important candidate for communication infrastructure in smart *** produces a drastic increase in the need for delivery of video services that are of high resolution,multiview,and large-scale in ***,this entity gets easily influenced by heterogeneous behaviour of the user’s wireless link features that might reduce the quality of video stream for few or all *** development of sDN allows the emergence of new possibilities for complicated controlling of video ***,multicast routing protocol with multiple constraints in terms of Quality of service(Qos)is a Nondeterministic Polynomial time(NP)hard problem which can be solved only with the help of metaheuristic optimization *** this motivation,the current research paper presents a new Improved BlackWidow Optimization with Levy Distribution model(IBWO-LD)-based multicast routing protocol for smart *** presented IBWO-LD model aims at minimizing the energy consumption and bandwidth utilization while at the same time accomplish improved quality of video streams that the clients ***,a priority-based scheduling and classifier model is designed to allocate multicast request based on the type of applications and deadline constraints.A detailed experimental analysis was carried out to ensure the outcomes improved under different *** results from comprehensive comparative analysis highlighted the superiority of the proposed IBWO-LD model over other compared methods.
