Objective:Studies examining the association of reflux disease with the risk of developing laryngeal cancer have both proven and disproven the null ***:This retrospective caseecontrol study examines the association of reflux in two populations exposed to similar risk factors,including tobacco,to the extent that end-organ malignant transformation has *** IRB approval was obtained,a search of our hospital’s cancer center’s database was performed from 2000 to 2013.A retrospective chart review was then performed and the prevalence of gastroesophageal reflux disease among patients with laryngeal cancer(n Z 290)was *** was then compared to the prevalence of gastroesophageal reflux disease among patients presenting with lung cancer(n Z 2440)during the same time period.A multivariate logistic regression was performed to determine the association of reflux with laryngeal ***:Taking into consideration tobacco use,there was a strong association between male gender and occurrence of laryngeal cancer as opposed to lung cancer(OR Z 3.30;95%CI 2.53e4.36,P<0.001).There was a modest association between reflux and laryngeal cancer(OR Z 1.65;95%CI 1.19e2.25,P Z 0.003).However,there was no association between reflux and the propensity for carcinoma in specific laryngeal subsites(P Z 0.47).Conclusions:In this study examining a heterogeneous population with end-organ malignancy there was a modest association between reflux and laryngeal *** research is necessary to determine the biologic relevance of this finding.

目的:评估糖尿病视网膜病变(DR)严重程度与血清胱抑素C和急性时相反应指标的相关性,包括红细胞沉降率(ESR)和超敏C反应蛋白(hs-CRP)。方法:研究纳入了1mo内就诊的所有糖尿病视网膜病患者。患者均记录人口统计学数据。行眼科检查,同时检测糖化血红蛋白(Hb A1c)、ESR、hs-CRP和血清胱抑素C水平。结果:研究包括67例糖尿病患者,其中19例(28.3%)无视网膜病变患者,22例(32.8%)非增殖型视网膜病变患者和26例(38.8%)增殖型视网膜病变患者。三组间平均年龄、性别分布、平均糖尿病病程、高血压和血脂异常患病率、吸烟状况以及Hb A1c水平无明显差异。随着视网膜病变发展,平均血清胱抑素C水平显著提高,三组分别为1.1±0.48,1.22±0.38,1.71±0.92(P=0.007)。在多元回归分析中,仅血清胱抑素C与糖尿病视网膜病变严重程度有关(P=0.025)。结论:研究表明,在独立于急性时相反应指标,血清胱抑素C水平随DR加重升高。因此,该结论可作为初级医护人员区分高危患者的标志。

Pheochromocytoma and stress cardiomyopathy:Insight into pathogenesis

Objective: The local regulations for conducting experimental and clinical cell therapy studies are dependent on the national and cultural approach to the issue, and may have many common aspects as well as differences with the regulations in other *** study reflects the latest national aspects of cell therapy in Iran and relevant regulations. Methods: The following topics are discussed in the article including sources of cell harvest, regulations for cell disposal, stem cell manufacturing, and economic aspects of stem cell, based on current practice in Iran. Results: All cell therapy trials in Iran are required to strictly abide with the ethical codes, national and local regulations, and safety requirements, as well as considering human rights and respect. Adherence to these standards has facilitated the conduct of human cell therapy trials for research, academic advancement, and therapy. Conclusions: The cell therapy trials based on the aforementioned regulations may be assumed to be ethical and they are candidates for clinical translations based on safety and efficacy issues.

Evaluation of Abuse Drugs and Clinical Laboratory Tests Variations in Whole Blood ＆ Urine Samples of Abusers

In this study, five hundred urine samples and five hundred blood samples of abusers were examined for the presence of alkaloid substances and abuse drugs in urines and bloods. These numbers of blood and urine samples of addicts in clinics of welfare organization, during detoxification treatment or maintenance treatment were screened for abuse drugs presence. The all of samples were tested through as a view of clinical laboratory methods. Age ranges of female patients were 35 ~ 15 and age range of males patients were 45 ~ 15. All patients filled questionnaire and satisfy forms too. First, all fresh urine and blood samples were examined to confirm presence drugs abuses, depend on their addiction and treatment, so all samples were confirmed by two tests. Then they were examined to other clinical laboratory tests. All data were analyzed by t-test and were Anova one way and two ways of Anova Turkey, and p 〈 0.05 was considered significant. The p-value of this study was p = 0.0001. The results of this study were showed that 4% of abusers had mild increase in hematocrite level and 2% of narcotic drugs abusers had mild lower level of blood sugars than normal range and 4% of participants had increase liver enzymes such ALT （alanine transferase）, AST （aspartat transferase）, ALP （alkaline phosphatease） and 1% of them had renal failure. Although blood level BUN （blood urea nitrogen） and creatinin were examined to evaluation of their renal failure .The results in Tabriz/Iran undrevision of welfare organization clinics were approximately showed that positive results of addiction are in each of urine and blood samples. Because some of abusers directly consumed full long time agonist or partial agonists＇ drugs such as methadone and buprenorphine for their maintenance therapy in clinics. Also doing test on blood samples has high importance in distinguishing and confirmation of drugs abuse in samples. Also in this study we conclude that among all drug analytical methods the cheapest

Quantitative disease resistance(QDR)remains the most prevalent form of plant resistance in crop fields and wild ***-wide association studies(GWAS)have proved to be successful in deciphering the quantitative genetic basis of complex traits such as *** unravel the genetics of QDR to the devastating worldwide bacterial pathogen Ralstonia solanacearum,we performed a GWAS by challenging a highly polymorphic local mapping population of Arabidopsis thaliana with four *** type III effector(T3E)mutants,identified as key pathogenicity determinants after a first screen on an *** core collection of 25 *** most quantitative trait loci(QTLs)were highly specific to the identity of the T3E mutant(ripAC,ripAG,ripAQ,and ripU),we finely mapped a common QTL located on a cluster of nucleotide-binding domain and leucine-rich repeat(NLR)genes that exhibited structural *** functionally validated one of these NLRs as a susceptibility factor in response to ***,named it Bacterial Wilt Susceptibility 1(BWS1),and cloned two alleles that conferred contrasting levels of *** characterization indicated that expression of BWS1 leads to suppression of immunity triggered by different *** *** addition,we showed a direct interaction between BWS1 and RipAC T3E,and BWS1 and SUPPRESSOR OF G2 ALLELE OF skp1(SGT1b),the latter interaction being suppressed by ***,our results highlight a putative role for BWS1 as a quantitative susceptibility factor directly targeted by the T3E RipAC,mediating negative regulation of the SGT1-dependent immune response.
