Fuzzy Hybrid Coyote Optimization Algorithm for Image Thresholding

In order to address the problems of Coyote Optimization Algorithm in image thresholding,such as easily falling into local optimum,and slow convergence speed,a Fuzzy Hybrid Coyote Optimization Algorithm(here-inafter referred to as FHCOA)based on chaotic initialization and reverse learning strategy is proposed,and its effect on image thresholding is *** chaotic initialization,the random number initialization mode in the standard coyote optimization algorithm(COA)is replaced by chaotic *** sequence is nonlinear and long-term unpredictable,these characteristics can effectively improve the diversity of the population in the optimization ***,in this paper we first perform chaotic initialization,using chaotic sequence to replace random number initialization in standard *** combining the lens imaging reverse learning strategy and the optimal worst reverse learning strategy,a hybrid reverse learning strategy is then *** the process of algorithm traversal,the best coyote and the worst coyote in the pack are selected for reverse learning operation respectively,which prevents the algorithm falling into local optimum to a certain extent and also solves the problem of premature *** on the above improvements,the coyote optimization algorithm has better global convergence and computational *** simulation results show that the algorithmhas better thresholding effect than the five commonly used optimization algorithms in image thresholding when multiple images are selected and different threshold numbers are set.

Retrospective Surveillance over 11 Years for Intussusception in Children Younger than 14 Years in the State of Qatar

Background: Accurate estimates of the baseline incidence of childhood intussusception could help safety monitoring after introduction of rotavirus vaccines. Therefore, we studied the incidence of intussusception in the state ofQatar. Methods: We retrospectively reviewed cases of intussusception in children younger than 14 years. Children were treated between 2002 and 2012 at a single hospital inQatar. We analyzed information according to age, sex, clinical signs, diagnostic- and treatment-related characteristics, and length of stay. We calculated the national incidence of intussusception using census data. Results: A total of 106 children were diagnosed and treated for intussusception over 11 years. The male to female ratio of intussusception was 1.4:1. The most common symptom was bleeding per rectum (37%). One hundred andfour children with intussusception underwent diagnostic and therapeutic contrast enema, and 31.7% of patients underwent operative management. The length of stay was longer in patients who underwent operative reduction thanthat in those who did not. Conclusions: This is the first study to estimate the incidence of childhood intussusception prior to introduction of rotavirus vaccination in Qatar. A prospective surveillance system using a standardized case definition would be useful for examining the occurrence of intussusception in theArabicGulfarea and developing countries.

Gestational obesity and risk of hypospadias in male newborns. A population based case-control study

Aim: Hypospadias is a relatively common male genital anomaly that may be caused by anomalies in maternal hormone levels and/or blood glucose levels as well as nutritional deficiencies. Maternal obesity, which increases the risk of diabetes, may alter hormone levels, and may thereby be associated with risk of hypospadias. This study was designed to determine the impact of these risk factors on hypospadias in boys born at the largest tertiary hospital in Qatar. Methods: This population-based, case-control study used linked birth-hospital discharge data from Hamad General Hospital in Doha, Qatar, from January 2007 to December 2012. Boys with hypospadias were identified, and risk factors were determined. Adjusted odds ratios (aORs) and 95% confidence intervals (CIs) for hypospadias were estimated by multivariable logistic regression models adjusted for maternal age, parity and body mass index (BMI). Results: Seventy-three newborn male infants with hypospadias and 100 without the condition, with birth weight above 2500 g, were compared. Maternal obesity (BMI ≥ 30 kg/m2) was not associated with risk of hypospadias (aOR 1.07;95% 0.95 - 1.21), and no trend in risk with increasing maternal BMI was observed. Conclusion: Although the causes of male genital malformation are multifactorial, the present data do not support the hypothesis that gestational maternal obesity is a cause of hypospadias in male infants.

BACKGROUND Digital radiography has recently been used in dentistry as a substitute for conventional film radiography *** imaging has many advantages and provides new possibilities for recording and interpreting radiographic *** system uses different types of digital *** To detect the frequency,type,and reasons behind the appearance of intraoral image artifacts acquired by photostimulable phosphor plates(PSP).METHODS This retrospective descriptive study was conducted in the oral and maxillofacial radiology unit of the dental clinics of the College of Dentistry,Princess Nourah University(PNU).All intraoral digital radiographs were acquired using(Gendex Expert DC.,United States)an intraoral X-ray machine with 7-mA,65-kVP using a PSP system(Soredex DIGORA Optime imaging plate)and laser scanners(Soredex DIGORA Optime),which can house all sizes of reusable intraoral PSP sensor plates with image acquisition software(MIPACS Dental Enterprise viewer 3.2.2).A total of 50000 intraoral radiographs were retrieved from the clinical database from April 2018 to April 2020 to evaluate the reason,type,and solutions to these image *** Overall,50000 intraoral digital radiographs were acquired in a two-year-period;that is,from April 2018 to April *** these,3550(7.1%)retakes were performed due to the presence of image *** radiographs were the most common image type of intraoral retakes(80.8%).Imaging artifacts were divided into three categories:operator,plate and scanning *** of 3550 retakes,5%,1.37%,and 0.73%were related to operator,plate,and scanning errors,*** cone cut was the most common operator error(988 images),Bite marks were the most common plate error(276 images),and delayed scanning artifacts were the most common scanning errors(145 images).The calculated kappa value for interobserver reliability was 0.99,indicating almost perfect interobserver *** Our study discussed intraora

As a new mode and means of smart manufacturing,smart cloud manufacturing(SCM)faces great challenges in massive supply and demand,dynamic resource collaboration and intelligent *** address the problem,this paper proposes an SCM-oriented dynamic supply-demand(SD)intelligent adaptation model for massive manufacturing *** this model,a collaborative network model is established based on the properties of both the supply-demand and their relationships;in addition,an algorithm based on deep graph clustering(DGC)and aligned sampling(AS)is used to divide and conquer the large adaptation domain to solve the problem of the slow computational speed caused by the high complexity of spatiotemporal search in the collaborative network *** the same time,an intelligent supply-demand adaptation method driven by the quality of service(QoS)is established,in which the experiences of adaptation are shared among adaptation subdomains through deep reinforcement learning(DRL)powered by a transfer mechanism to improve the poor adaptation results caused by dynamic *** results show that the model and the solution proposed in this paper can performcollaborative and intelligent supply-demand adaptation for themassive and dynamic resources in SCM through autonomous learning and can effectively performglobal supply-demand matching and optimal resource allocation.

Geochemistry,Petrogenesis and Alteration of Rare-Metal-Bearing Granitoids and Mineralized Silexite of the Al-Ghurayyah Stock,Arabian Shield,Saudi Arabia

New data are presented for the rare-metal bearing A-type granitoids of the AlGhurayyah stock in the northwestern segment of the Arabian Shield, a composite pluton intruding metamorphosed volcano-sedimentary successions of the Silasia Formation. Metals in the granitoids are variably enriched, with up to 1 990 μg/g Zn, 7 680 μg/g Zr, 2 316 μg/g Nb, 232 μg/g Ta, 485 μg/g Hf, 670 μg/g Th, 137 μg/g U and 1 647 μg/g total rare earth elements(REE). The silexite is highly mineralized and yields higher maximum concentrations of several metals than the granitoids, including up to 1 860 μg/g Y, 9 400 μg/g Zr, 878 μg/g Hf, 1 000 μg/g Th, and 2 029 μg/g total REE. The Al-Ghurayyah stock has been assigned to an intraplate setting. Lithospheric delamination led to generation of mantle melts that supplied heat to melt the juvenile crust of the ANS. The fluorine and rare-metal enriched parental magma evolved by fractional crystallization. The quartz-rich silexite, distinct in character from ordinary hydrothermal vein quartz, is inferred to be co-genetic with the granitoids on the basis of their similar REE patterns;it is interpreted as a small volume of residual magma enriched in SiO2, volatiles, and trace metals. Mineralization took place both at the magmatic stage and later during a hydrothermal stage that concentrated these elements to economic grades.

Numerical prediction of hydrodynamic cavitating flow structures and their corresponding erosion

Hydrodynamic cavitating flows usually consist of 3-D intense vortical flows that are detached from solid *** vortical flows normally generate heaps of cavitating flow structures,which,in turn,govern the location of cavitation erosion before ***,this study introduces a new numerical approach based on the improved delayed detached eddy simulation(IDDES)turbulence modeling for predicting cavitating ***,the solution of compressible Eulerian-Eulerian two-phase flow and the IDDES turbulence model was linked to the microjet hypothesis and unsteady behavior of pressure and vapor volume to predict the corresponding erosion of cavitating *** method for cavitation erosion prediction,a modified version taken from previous studies,was applied as a post-processing *** validation of cavitating flow predictions was performed for the first time on the Grenoble axisymmetric nozzle by comparing them with 21 photos of cavitation from the previous experimental *** results showed that the present numerical approach estimated various features of hydrodynamic cavitation well,including shedding processes and the length,shape,and collapse of cavitating *** the numerical analysis,three main stages were detected for the present cavitating flow,and the vorticity-cavitation interactions were investigated by the vorticity transport *** streak-like and tube-like cavitating(STLIC and TULIC)structures were introduced in the second stage,initiated by flow instability,and entirely governed by corresponding turbulent flow *** collapse of these cavitating structures is one of the primary sources of cavitation erosion on lower and upper *** results of the numerical erosion predictions were compared with those of the previous erosion tests on the Grenoble axisymmetric *** numerical performance was achieved in predicting the location and intensity of cavitation erosion.
