As promising anodes for sodium-ion batteries,metal sulfides ubiquitously suffer from low-rate and high-plateau issues,greatly hindering their application in ***,exemplifying carbon nanotubes(CNTs)-stringed metal sulfides superstructure(CsC)assembled by nano-dispersed sns_(2) and Cos_(2) phases,cocktail mediation effect similar to that of high-entropy materials is initially studied in ether-based electrolyte to solve the *** high nano-dispersity of metal sulfides in CsC anode underlies the cocktail-like mediation effect,enabling the circumvention of intrinsic drawbacks of different metal *** utilizing ether-based electrolyte,the reversibility of metal sulfides is greatly improved,sustaining a long-life effectivity of cocktail-like *** such,CsC effectively overcomes low-rate flaw of sns_(2) and highplateau demerit of Cos_(2),simultaneously realizes a high rate and a low *** half-cells,CsC delivers an ultrahigh-rate capability of 327.6 mAh g^(−1) anode at 20 A g^(−1),far outperforming those of monometallic sulfides(sns_(2),Cos_(2))and their *** with Cos_(2) phase and sns_(2)/Cos_(2) mixture,CsC shows remarkably lowered average charge voltage up to ca.0.62 ***-assembled CsC//Na1.5VPO4.8F0.7 full-cell shows a good rate capability(0.05~1.0 A g^(−1),120.3 mAh g^(−1) electrode at 0.05 A g^(−1))and a high average discharge voltage up to 2.57 V,comparable to full-cells with alloy-type *** analysis verifies that the cocktail-like mediation effect largely boosts the charge transfer and ionic diffusion in CsC,compared with single phase and mixed *** mechanism study reveals that alternative and complementary electrochemical processes between nano-dispersed sns_(2) and Cos_(2) phases are responsible for the lowered charge voltage of *** electrolyte/structure-dependent cocktail-like mediation effect effectively enhances the practicability of metal sulfide anodes,which will boost the developm

Decellularized extracellular matrices (dECM) have strong regenerative potential as tissue engineering scaffolds;however, current clinical options for dECM scaffolds are limited to freeze-drying its native form into sheets. Electrospinning is a versatile scaffold fabrication technique that allows control of macro- and microarchitecture. It remains challenging to electrospin dECM, which has led researchers to either blend it with synthetic materials or use enzymatic digestion to fully solubilize the dECM. Both strategies reduce the innate bioactivity of dECM and limit its regenerative potential. Herein, we developed a new suspension electrospinning method to fabricate a pure dECM fibrous mesh that retains its innate bioactivity. systematic investigation of suspension parameters was used to identify critical rheological properties required to instill “spinnability,” including homogenization, concentration, and particle size. Homogenization enhanced particle interaction to impart the requisite elastic behavior to withstand electrostatic drawing without breaking. A direct correlation between concentration and viscosity was observed that altered fiber morphology;whereas, particle size had minimal impact on suspension properties and fiber morphology. The versatility of this new method was demonstrated by electrospinning dECM with three common decellularization techniques (Abraham, Badylak, Luo) and tissue sources (intestinal submucosa, heart, skin). Bioactivity retention after electrospinning was confirmed using cell proliferation, angiogenesis, and macrophage polarization assays. Collectively, these findings provide a framework for researchers to electrospin dECM for diverse tissue engineering applications.

Dr. Wissam s. Al-Hashimi has died. His daughter, Tara, reports that he was kidnapped early in the morning of August 24 while on his way to work. The ransom demanded by his abductors was paid by his family, but to no avail. He died of two bullet wounds to his head. Because his identification was taken from him, it took his family two weeks to find his body in a Baghdad hospital. Tragic indeed, and senseless.

Osteocyte dysfunction promotes osteoarthritis through MMP13-dependent suppression of subchondral bone homeostasis

Osteoarthritis(OA),long considered a primary disorder of articular cartilage,is commonly associated with subchondral bone ***,the cellular mechanisms responsible for changes to subchondral bone in OA,and the extent to which these changes are drivers of or a secondary reaction to cartilage degeneration,remain *** knee joints from human patients with end-stage OA,we found evidence of profound defects in osteocyte *** of osteocyte perilacunar/canalicular remodeling(PLR)was most severe in the medial compartment of OA subchondral bone,with lower protease expression,diminished canalicular networks,and disorganized and hypermineralized extracellular *** a step toward evaluating the causality of PLR suppression in OA,we ablated the PLR enzyme MMP13 in osteocytes while leaving chondrocytic MMP13 intact,using Cre recombinase driven by the 9.6-kb DMP1 *** only did osteocytic MMP13 deficiency suppress PLR in cortical and subchondral bone,but it also compromised *** in the absence of injury,osteocytic MMP13 deficiency was sufficient to reduce cartilage proteoglycan content,change chondrocyte production of collagen II,aggrecan,and MMP13,and increase the incidence of cartilage lesions,consistent with early ***,in humans and mice,defects in PLR coincide with cartilage ***-derived MMP13 emerges as a critical regulator of cartilage homeostasis,likely via its effects on ***,these findings implicate osteocytes in bone-cartilage crosstalk in the joint and suggest a causal role for suppressed perilacunar/canalicular remodeling in osteoarthritis.

We demonstrate third harmonic generation in plasmonic antennas consisting of highly doped germanium grown on silicon substrates and designed to be resonant in the mid-infrared frequency range that is inaccessible with conventional nonlinear plasmonic *** to the near-field enhancement,the result is an ultrafast,subdiffraction,coherent light source with a wavelength tunable between 3 and 5μm,and ideally overlapping with the fingerprint region of molecular *** observe the nonlinearity in this challenging spectral window,a highpower femtosecond laser system equipped with parametric frequency conversion in combination with an all-reflective confocal microscope setup is *** demonstrate spatially resolved maps of the linear scattering cross section and the nonlinear emission of single isolated antenna structures.A clear third-order power dependence as well as mid-infrared emission spectra prove the nonlinear nature of the light *** support the observed resonance length of the double-rod antenna and demonstrate that the field enhancement inside the antenna material is responsible for the nonlinear frequency mixing.

目的用减毒salmonella typhimurium sT14028-3b菌株的细聚合菌毛(thin aggregative fim- briae)构建表达HIV-1 2F5抗原表位的载体。方法通过两步重叠PCR法(two step overlap extension PCR)构建重组体agfA：：2F5,将重组体克隆至具有分离缺陷的温度敏感性低拷贝质粒pHsG415中,构成重组质粒pHsGAgfA2F5,然后经电穿孔法转化入sT14028-3b菌株中,经温度和抗生素选择压力进行等位基因置换,通过PCR筛选出含有外源基因的突变株,测序验证其序列的正确性。最后,用Western blot法检测菌毛蛋白的表达,黏附试验来证明含有外源基因的菌株Bu96的黏附能力。结果序列分析表明基因置换后的突变株在菌毛基因上含有外源基因2F5,且不含有质粒pHsG415的复制子序列。Western blot结果显示菌毛蛋白表达,黏附试验表明了菌株Bu96的黏附能力。结论利用具有分离缺陷的温度敏感性低拷贝质粒pHsG415,在sT14028-3b的细聚合菌毛编码基因agfA上插入表达2F5或其他外源基因的方法可行。本方法的最大优点在于不需要使用专门的菌株或抗生素抗性标记重组基因来进行位点特异性基因置换,同时也避免了在染色体上非目的DNA的出现。
