Mechanism of retinal pericyte migration through Angiopoietin/Tie-2 signaling pathway on diabetic rats

AIM： To investigate the mechanism of pericyte migration through Angiopoietin-2 （Ang-2）/Tie-2 signaling pathway. METHODS： We divided the rats into 5 groups. Each diabetic rat model groups injected with Tie-2 inhibitor, ERK1/2 inhibitor, Akt/PKB inhibitor, and DMSO intravitreal. Retinal digest preparation was done to examine the retinal vasculature including pericyte： endothelial ratio, and morphology of pericyte migration. Tie-2, ERKI/2 and Akt/PKB phosporylation were analyzed by confocal laser scanning microscopy. RESULTS： There was a correlation between pericyte migration with increasing Ang-2 （P〈0.05）. Pericyte number reduced by 40% （1：2.4） after 5wk diabetes on diabetic rats. The pericyte： endothelial ratio on group with Tie-2 inhibitor were 1：1.8. The same result shows on group with Akt/PKB inhibition. ERK1/2 inhibitor group shows the best results of pericyte： endothelial ratio （1：1,7）, Inhibition on Tie-2 receptor decreased the phosphorylation activity of Tie-2, ERK1/2 and Akt/PKB pathway. ERK1/2 inhibition also decreasing the phosphorylation of Tie-2 and Akt/PKB. But on Akt/PKB inhibition, the phosphorylation of Tie-2 and ERK1/2 were relative the same. CONCLUSION： Ang-2 has a role for pericyte migration on diabetic rats through Tie-2 receptor, ERKII2 and Akt/PKB pathways. ERK1/2 is a dominant pathway based on the ability to supress another pathway activity and decreasing pericyte migration on diabetic rats.

N_(2)and Ar dilution on the premixed biogas jet flame under external acoustic enforcement

In this study,combustion instabilities and flue gas emission changes under different dilutions of N_(2)(nitrogen)and Ar(argon)of a promising biogas mixture(70%CH4-30%CO_(2))in the fight against greenhouse gas emissions were *** the experiments,additions were made from 0%to 50%at intervals of 10%for both *** order to detect the instability of the flame,external acoustic enforcements at different frequencies was applied through the speakers placed in the combustion chamber *** dynamic pressure fluctuation values were *** results showed that low dilution ratios were effective in reducing flame instability for both inert ***,as the dilution ratio increased,the fuel/air mixture became leaner and blowoff *** the case of comparing two different gases,it has been observed that the effect of argon gas on reducing dynamic pressure fluctuation is *** outlet temperature and brightness values of the flame decreased in both Ar and N_(2)*** and NOx emissions increased with increasing diluent volume for all dilution *** the emissions of the two diluent gases are compared,the CO emission,which was 3134 ppm in the undiluted condition,increased up to 4949 ppm in 50%Ar dilution,while it increased to 4521 ppm in 50%N_(2)dilution.

Fermented liquid feed for pigs： an ancient technique for the future

Fermented liquid feed is feed that has been mixed with water at a ratio ranging from 1：1.5 to 1：4. By mixing with water lactic acid bacteria and yeasts naturally occurring in the feed proliferate and produce lactic acid, acetic acid and ethano which reduces the pH of the mixture. This reduction in pH inhibits pathogenic organisms from developing in the feed. In addition, when this low pH mixture is fed, it reduces the pH in the stomach of pigs and prevents the proliferation of pathogens such as coliforms and Salmonella in the gastrointestinal tract. For piglets, the use of fermented liquid feed offers the possibility of simultaneously providing feed and water, which may facilitate an easier transition from sow＇s milk to solid feed. Secondly, offering properly produced fermented liquid feed may strengthen the role of the stomach as the first line of defense against possible pathogenic infections by lowering the pH in the gastrointestinal tract thereby helping to exclude enteropathogens. Finally, feeding fermented liquid feed to pigs has been shown to improve the performance of suckling pigs, weaner pigs and growing-finishing pigs. In this review, current knowledge about the use of fermented liquid feed in pig diets will be discussed. This will include a discussion of the desirable properties of fermented liquid feed and factors affecting fermentation. In addition, advantages and disadvantages of fermented liquid feed will be discussed including its effects on gastrointestinal health, intestinal pH and the types of bacteria found in the gastrointestinal tract as well as the effects of fermented liquid feeds on pig performance.

This study deployed k-means clustering to formulate earthquake categories based on magnitude and consequence,using global earthquake data spanning from 1900 to *** on patterns within the historical data,numeric boundaries were extracted to categorize the magnitude,deaths,injuries,and damage caused by earthquakes into low,medium,and high *** a future earthquake incident,the classification scheme can be utilized to assign earthquakes into appropriate categories by inputting the magnitude,number of fatalities and injuries,and monetary estimates of total *** resulting taxonomy provides a means of classifying future earthquake incidents,thereby guiding the allocation and deployment of disaster management resources in proportion to the specific characteristics of each ***,the scheme can serve as a reference tool for auditing the utilization of earthquake management resources.

Stool characteristics of infants receiving short-chain galactooligosaccharides and long-chain fructo-oligosaccharides:A review

Human milk is considered to be the optimal source of infant nutrition. Some of the benefits of breastfeeding have been ascribed to human milk oligosaccharides(HMO). For instance, HMO can affect faecal characteristics such as stool consistency and stool frequency. Such effects on stool characteristics can be beneficial for young infants as hard stools and even constipation is common in that age group. Prebiotics in infant milk formulas have been introduced to exert similar functionalities. A specific mixture of prebiotics consists of a combination of short chain galacto-oligosaccharides and long-chain fructo-oligosaccharides(scGOS/lcFOS) in a ratio of 9:1. This specific mixture has been developed to closely resemble the molecular size composition of HMO. Many studies have been done with scGOS/lcFOS, and indicators for digestive comfort have often been included as secondary outcomes. This review summarizes the effects of scGOS/lcFOS(9:1) on stool consistency,stool frequency and transit time in healthy term and preterm infants. In several of the studies with scGOS/lcFOS in a ratio of 9:1 in infant milk formulas, positive effects of this mixture on stool characteristics such as stool consistency and stool frequency were observed. As stool consistency was shown to be correlated to whole gut transit time, scGOS/lcFOS can be hypothesised to have a role in reducing the risk of constipation.

Annual effective dose values from 137Cs activity concentrations in soils of Manisa,Turkey

In this study,the activity concentrations of the fallout radionuclide ~(137(Cs in 150 soil samples collected from 13 districts of Manisa Province were determined using a gamma ray spectrometer with a Na I(Tl) *** health risks to people resulting from external exposure were evaluated by estimating the outdoor absorbed gamma dose rate and annual effective dose rate(outdoor and indoor).The activity concentration ofCs varied from 3.6 ± 2.0 to 124.1 ± 11.0 Bq kg,with an average value of43.3 Bq *** average values of the outdoor absorbed gamma dose rate and annual effective dose(outdoor plus indoor) were found to be 1.3 n Gy h,and 8.0 μSv y,(6.38 + 1.59 μSv y),*** results were compared with internationally recommended values.

Effect of hematopoietic stem cell on tumor necrosis factor-αexpression, spiral artery remodeling and placental apoptosis in lead-exposed pregnant mice

Objective:To evaluate the effectiveness of hematopoietic stem cell (HSC) on TNF-αexpression, spiral artery remodeling, and placental ***: The study used pregnant mice divided to five groups of treatment: Group 1, without treatment;Group 2, 1/12 LD50 of lead and Aquadest;Group 3, 1/16 LD50 of lead and Aquadest, Group 4, 1/12 LD50 of lead and 1×107 HSC;and group 5, 1/16 LD50 of lead and 1×107 HSC. Histopathology examination was performed to identify spiral artery remodeling. Immunohistochemistry analysis was conducted to characterize TNF-α expression and the apoptosis index. The data from all five groups were compared using the ANOVA ***:TNF-α expression differed significantly among the groups that were not exposed to lead, exposed to lead and exposed to lead after HSC treatment (P0.05).Conclusions:In lead-exposed pregnant mice, the administration of hematopoietic stem cell may decrease TNF-α expression, spiral artery remodeling, and placental apoptosis index but in the group of 1/16 LD50 of lead and HSC treatment, apoptosis index has no differences with those of control group.

This study investigates the need for credit supervision as conducted by on-site banking *** builds on a real bank on-site credit examination to compare the performance of a hypothetical self-supervision approach,in which banks themselves assess their loan portfolios without external intervention,with the on-site banking supervision approach of the Central Bank of *** experiment develops two machine learning classification models:the first model is based on good and bad ratings informed by banks,and the second model is based on past on-site credit portfolio examinations conducted by banking *** findings show that the overall performance of the on-site supervision approach is consistently higher than the performance of the self-supervision approach,justifying the need for on-site credit portfolio examination as conducted by the Central Bank.

Gene disruption technology has long been beneficial for the study of male reproductive biology. However, because of the time and cost involved, this technology was not a viable method except in specialist laboratories. The advent of the CRISPR/Cas9 system ofgene disruption has ushered in a new era of genetic investigation. Now, it is possible to generate gene-disrupted mouse models in very tittle time and at very little cost. 1his Highlight article discusses the application of this technology to study the genetics of male fertility and looks at some of the future uses of this system that could be used to reveal the essential and nonessential genetic components of male reproductive mechanisms.

The new antiepileptic drugs perampanel,retigabine,rufinamide and stiripentol have been recently approved for different epilepsy *** them an innovation in the antiepileptics armamentarium,a lot of investigations regarding their pharmacological properties are yet to be ***,considering their broad anticonvulsant activities,an extension of their therapeutic indications may be worthy of investigation,especially regarding other seizure types as well as other central nervous system *** different liquid chromatographic(LC)methods coupled with ultraviolet,fluorescence,mass or tandem-mass spectrometry detection have already been developed for the determination of perampanel,retigabine,rufinamide and stiripentol,new and more cost-effective methods are yet ***,this review summarizes the main analytical aspects regarding the liquid chromatographic methods developed for the analysis of perampanel,retigabine(and its main active metabolite),rufinamide and stiripentol in biological samples and pharmaceutical dosage ***,the physicochemical and stability properties of the target compounds will also be ***,this review gathers,for the first time,important background information on LC methods that have been developed and applied for the determination of perampanel,retigabine,rufinamide and stiripentol,which should be considered as a starting point if new(bio)analytical techniques are aimed to be implemented for these drugs.
