Fat is an indispensable nutrient and basic metabolite for sustaining life,and milk is particularly rich in fatty acids,including a variety of saturated and unsaturated fatty ***(miRNA)and mRNA play an important role in the regulation of milk fat metabolism in mammary gland *** has been shown that lipid metabolism has a complex transcriptional regulation,but the mechanism by which milk fat synthesis is regulated through miRNA–mRNA interactions is poorly *** this study,we performed transcriptome sequencing with bovine mammary gland tissue in the late lactation(270 and 315 days after parturition)to identify the key gene that regulating milk fat metabolism.A total of 1207 differentially coexpressed genes were selected,828 upregulated genes and 379 downregulated genes were *** transforming growth factor alpha(TGFA)gene was selected as the target gene,and luciferase reporter assay,Western blotting and q RT-PCR were used for further *** results demonstrated that miR-140 was an upstream regulator of TGFA,and miR-140 could inhibit(P<0.01)unsaturated fatty acid and triglyceride(TAGs)production in bovine mammary epithelial cells(BMECs).In contrast,TGFA promoted(P<0.01)unsaturated fatty acid and TAG *** experiments further indicated the mi R-140/TGFA regulatory *** together,these results suggest that the mi R-140/TGFA pathway can inhibit(P<0.01)milk fat metabolism and improve milk quality by genetic means.

Metformin alleviates LTA-induced inflammatory response through PPARγ/MAPK/NF-κB signaling pathway in bovine mammary epithelial cells

Mastitis is a common inflammatory cow mammary infection;that causes significant economic loss in dairy *** the interesting connection between metformin’s anti-inflammatory function and mastitis model induced by LTA in pbMECs,our objective was to prove that metformin was beneficial in suppressing proinflammatory response induced by LTA through modulation of mitogen-activated protein kinase(MAPK)and nuclear factor kappa B(NF-κB)signaling pathways and activation of peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor-γ(PPARγ)in *** proliferation of cells and mRNA expression were measured using EdU assay and quantitative reverse transcriptase-polymerase chain reaction(qRT-PCR).Immunoblotting and immunofluorescence analysis were conducted to evaluate the expression of target proteins in inflammatory and anti-inflammatory responses to metformin and ***,pbMECs were allowed to treat with the PPAR antagonist GW9662,and inflammatory markers were detected in the *** results showed that LTA concentration at 100μg/mL significantly stimulated the MAPK14,IL-6 and IL-1βmRNA expressions compared to the control cells(P<0.05)in dose-dependent tests for *** suppressed the phosphorylation expressions of MAPK(ERK1/2,p38,and JNK)in LTA-stimulated *** also reduced the protein expression of NF-κB,interleukin-8(IL-8),interleukin-1β(IL-1β)and interleukin-6(IL-6)in pbMECs pretreated with *** administration activated PPARγphosphorylation by up-regulating the expression of PPARγin LTA-stimulated *** with GW9662 resulted in increased IL-6 expression,which was reversed by *** findings collectively indicated that metformin act to attenuate LTA-stimulated inflammatory response in pbMECs by suppressing MAPK and NF-κB activation via a mechanism partially dependent on PPARγ*** results suggested that metformin could function as an anti-inflammatory drug in the treatment of mastitis.

Critical assessment of R410A alternatives for mini-split air conditioners in the Egyptian market

In this study,the potential implementation of three different low-GWP refrigerants(R32,R452B,and R454B)as replacements for R410A was *** study was performed using a simulation tool developed by the authors called RACHP-Lab,which is a vapor compression system simulation tool developed based on physics-based simulation for typical mini-split air *** simulation study was carried out and validated using experimental performance data of 10 different air conditioning units available in the Egyptian *** units included fixed-speed or variable-speed compressors and operated in cooling or heating ***-in replace-ment with the new refrigerants was carried *** R32,the capacity increased between 4.9%and 13%for cooling cases,and 6.3%and 12.4%for heating ***,COP did not improve in all *** R452B and R454B with direct replacement,the capacity nearly remained the same,with an increase of COP between 1.6%and 8.0%.Soft optimization was also conducted on cooling cases where compressor suction superheat,condenser subcooling,and compressor volumetric speed were optimized to maximize COP while maintaining the original capacity of R410A.R32 showed an improvement of COP over R410A between 4.6%and 15.5%,while for R452B and R454B between 2.2%and 13.2%.

Optimizing wind farm layout for enhanced electricity extraction using a new hybrid PSO-ANN method

With the growing need for renewable energy,wind farms are playing an important role in generating clean power from wind *** best wind turbine architecture in a wind farm has a major influence on the energy extraction *** paper describes a unique strategy for optimizing wind turbine locations on a wind farm that combines the capabilities of particle swarm optimization(PSO)and artificial neural networks(ANNs).The PSO method was used to explore the solution space and develop preliminary turbine layouts,and the ANN model was used to fine-tune the placements based on the predicted energy *** proposed hybrid technique seeks to increase energy output while considering site-specific wind patterns and topographical *** efficacy and superiority of the hybrid PSO-ANN methodology are proved through comprehensive simulations and comparisons with existing approaches,giving exciting prospects for developing more efficient and sustainable wind *** integration of ANNs and PSO in our methodology is of paramount importance because it leverages the complementary strengths of both ***,this novel methodology harnesses historical data through ANNs to identify optimal turbine positions that align with the wind speed and direction and enhance energy extraction efficiency.A notable increase in power generation is observed across various *** percentage increase in the power generation ranged from approximately 7.7%to 11.1%.Owing to its versatility and adaptability to site-specific conditions,the hybrid model offers promising prospects for advancing the field of wind farm layout optimization and contributing to a greener and more sustainable energy future.

Structural, Magnetic and Heating Efficiency of Ball Milled γ-Fe₂O₃/Gd₂O₃ Nanocomposite for Magnetic Hyperthermia

The preparation of γ-Fe2O3/Gd2O3 nanocomposite for possible use in magnetic hyperthermia application was done by ball milling technique. The nanocomposite was characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and vibrating sample magnetometer (VSM). The heating efficiency and the effect of milling time (5 h and 30 h) on the structural and magnetic properties of the nanocomposite were reported. XRD analysis confirms the formation of the nanocomposite, while magnetization measurements show that the milled sample present hysteresis with low coercivity and remanence. The specific absorption rate (SAR) under an alternating magnetic field is investigated as a function of the milling time. A mean heating efficiency of 68 W/g and 28.7 W/g are obtained for 5 h and 30 h milling times respectively at 332 kHz and 170 Oe. The results showed that the obtained nanocomposite for 5 h milling time is a promising candidate for magnetic hyperthermia due to his properties which show an interesting magnetic behavior and high specific absorption rate.

Einstein-Podolsky-Rosen Steering and Nonlocality in Open Quantum Systems

We investigate the dynamical behavior of quantum steering (QS), Bell nonlocality, and entanglement in open quantum systems. We focus on a two-qubit system evolving within the framework of Kossakowski-type quantum dynamical semigroups. Our findings reveal that the measures of quantumness for the asymptotic states rely on the primary parameter of the quantum model. Furthermore, control over these measures can be achieved through a careful selection of these parameters. Our analysis encompasses various cases, including Bell states, Werner states, and Horodecki states, demonstrating that the asymptotic states can exhibit steering, entanglement, and Bell nonlocality. Additionally, we find that these three quantum measures of correlations can withstand the influence of the environment, maintaining their properties even over extended periods.

Does local vaginal estrogen after tension-free transobturator vaginal tape reduce overactive bladder symptoms in postmenopausal women? A prospective randomized, controlled study

Objective:We aimed to evaluate the efficacy of topical estrogen after transvaginal tension-free vaginal tape-obturator(TVT-O)in the treatment of de novo overactive bladder symptoms that appear after ***:This is a prospective randomized controlled study performed in the Urology and Gynecology Departments,Kasr Al Ainy Hospital,Cairo University,Cairo,*** hundred and ten postmenopausal females presenting during the period between January 2017 and November 2020 with stress urinary incontinence were included in the *** were divided into two groups,105 patients in Group A(treatment group)and 105 patients in Group B(control group).Patients in Group A underwent transvaginal TVT-O followed by local vaginal estrogen treatment for 6 months,while patients in Group B underwent transvaginal TVT-O *** study included any postmenopausal female with urodynamic stress urinary *** patients had to fulfill a 3-day bladder diary,overactive bladder symptoms score,urine analysis,urodynamic study,and post-voiding residual urine measurement by abdominal ultrasound preoperatively and at 3-month and 6-month ***:At 6-month follow-up,daytime frequency was reduced to 8%in Group A(increased to 21%in Group B)with a statistically significant difference between both groups(p=0.009).At 6-month follow-up,nocturia was 8%in Group A(11%in Group B)with no statistically significant difference between both groups(p=0.469).There was a statistically significant difference between both groups as regards to urinary urgency at 6-month follow-up(p=0.024).There was a statistically significant difference in postoperative wound healing events as regards to cure,hyperemia,gapping,and wound infection 1 week after intervention between both groups(p=0.008).No local or systemic side-effects were reported from local estrogen ***:Local vaginal estrogen treatment given to postmenopausal patients after midurethral sling procedures can reduce the symptoms o

Textile dyes are dramatic sources of pollution and non-aesthetic disturbance of aquatic life and therefore represent a potential risk of bioaccumulation that can affect living *** is imperative to reduce or eliminate these dyes from liquid effluents with innovative biomaterials and ***,this research aims to highlight the performance of Capparis spinosa L waste-activated carbon(CSLW-AC)adsorbent to remove crystal violet(CV)from an aqueous *** mechanism of CV adsorption on CSLW-AC was evaluated based on the coupling of experimental data and different characterization *** efficiency of the CSLW-AC material reflected by the equilibrium adsorption capacity of CV could reach more than 195.671 mg·g^(–1) when 0.5 g·L^(–1) of CSLW-AC(Particle size≤250μm)is introduced into the CV of initial concentration of 100 mg·L^(–1) at pH 6 and temperature 65℃ and in the presence of potassium ions after 60 min of contact time according to the one parameter at a time *** adsorption behavior of CV on CSLW-AC was found to be consistent with the pseudo-second-order kinetic model and Frumkin's linear isothermal *** thermodynamic aspects indicate that the process is physical,spontaneous,and *** optimization of the process by the Box Behnken design of experiments resulted in an adsorption capacity approaching 183.544 mg·g^(–1)([CV]=100 mg·L^(–1) and[CSLW-AC]=0.5 g·L^(–1) at 35 min).The results of the Lactuca sativa seeds germination in treated CV(70%),adsorbent solvent and thermal regeneration(more than 5 cycles),and process cost analysis(1.0484 USD·L^(–1))tests are encouraging and promising for future exploitations of the CSLW-AC material in different industrial fields.

Removal of Dyes in Aqueous Media with Hydrochar Base of Solid Tanneries Waste: Optimization Process and Application

The Response Surface Methodology (RSM) was used to optimise the conditions of preparation of activated hydrochar from tannery solid waste by hydrothermal carbonisation (HTC). The main factors such as residence time, moisture content and final carbonisation temperature were investigated during the optimisation of hydrochar preparation conditions. The three responses investigated are hydrochar yield, iodine and methylene blue indices. The results of experimental analyses showed that the yield of hydrochar decreases with increasing final temperature, leading to the formation of micropores inside the carbonaceous solid. The optimum conditions for preparing the following hydrochar were obtained: 83.10%, 390.44 mg∙g−1 and 259.63 mg∙g−1 respectively for the hydrochar yield, the iodine and methylene blue indices. The specific surface area of prepared hydrochar is 849.160 m2/g, SEM micrographs showed a porous heterogeneous surface and particularly, the hydrochar surface also revealed external pores on the hydrochar surface which acted as a pathway to the micropores. Fourier transform infrared (FTIR), however, showed a predominance of acid functions on the surface of the carbonaceous solids. Tests were carried out to eliminate indigo carmine in aqueous media. Activated hydrochar showed a high level of activity, with the Langmuir and Freundlich isotherms giving an adsorption quantity of 354.610 mol/g and a KF constant of 468.2489, respectively. The findings of the research revealed that hydrochar produced is well adapted for dyes removal.
