Bilayer low-density parity-check （LDPC） codes are an effective coding technique for decode-and-forward relaying, where the relay forwards extra parity bits to help the destination to decode the source bits correctly. In the existing bilayer coding scheme, these parity bits are protected by an error correcting code and assumed reliably available at the receiver. We propose an uneoded relaying scheme, where the extra parity bits are forwarded to the destination without any protection. Through density evolution analysis and simulation results, we show that our proposed scheme achieves better performance in terms of bit erasure probability than the existing relaying scheme. In addition, our proposed scheme results in lower complexity at the relay.

Sickle Cell Anemia(SCA)is a prevalent genetic condition in Saudi Arabia,particularly in the Jazan *** study’s purpose was to assess the prevalence of de-pression among individuals with SCA in this area and to identify the factors associated with this *** study involved 391 adult participants,all patients in the hematology center of Prince Mohammed bin Nasser Hospital(PMNH).Data was collected through an anonymous interview questionnaire–the Arabic version of the Patient Health Questionnaire-9(PHQ-9)–between March–May *** questionnaire covered socio-demographic information and variables related to the participant’s SCA history,such as pain levels,frequency of pain,hospitalization duration,and frequency of blood *** variables underwent Chi-square and One-way ANOVA testing,followed by multivariate *** study found a 42%prevalence of depression among the SCA *** significantly linked with heightened depression levels included being widowed or divorced,experiencing frequent and severe pain,and longer duration of hospital *** educational level of at least a bachelor’s degree was also a significant *** study reveals a high prevalence of depression among SCA patients in the Jazan *** underscores the need for policymakers to educate both physicians and patients about the importance of mental health in SCA *** study also highlights the need for more research into the specific causes and effects of depressive symptoms in SCA patients to inform the creation of effective management plans.

Use of Gramoxone 20SL (Paraquat) Prior to Land Preparation in Controlling Aquatic Weeds in Wetland Areas of Bangladesh

Emergent aquatic weeds present in the monocropped fresh water wetland area of Bangladesh create a hazard in land preparation by developing dense stands. A field experiment was conducted at the farmers’ field of two villages namely Mahilara and kashemabad under Gournadi Upazila of Barisal district, Bangladesh during October 2012 to evaluate the efficacy of Gramoxone 20SL (Paraquat) in controlling emergent aquatic weeds and to find out an appropriate dose of this herbicide. Three doses of Gramoxone 20SL at 1.96 l·ha-1, 2.00 l·ha-1 and 2.04 l·ha-1 were tried with an untreated control. All treatments were laid out in a randomized complete block design and replicated thrice. There were 8 different emergent weed species infesting the field among which the most dominant weed species were Eichhornia crassipes, Pistia stratiotes, Enhydra fluctuans, Monochoria vaginalis, Echinochloa crus-galli. The results revealed that, weed control efficiency was significantly affected by different herbicidal treatments. The treatments, Gramoxone 20SL at 2.00 l·ha-1 and 2.04 l·ha-1 were controlled in all the emergent aquatic weeds more than 85% infesting both the sites. Application of non-selective herbicide Gramoxone 20SL at 2.00 l·ha-1 prior to land preparation was most effective to suppress weed dry masses in both the site resulting reduced land preparation cost up to 78.93% as compared to manual weed control.

A robotic wheelchair is assumed to be capable of doing tasks like navigation, obstacle detection, etc. using sensors and intelligence. The initial part of the work was development of a cap controlled wheelchair to test and verify the gesture operation. Following that, a real time operating wheelchair was developed consisting of mode changing option between joystick control mode and head gesture control mode as per as the user’s requirement. The wheelchair consists of MPU6050 sensor, joystick module, RF module, battery, dc motor, toggle switch and Arduino. The movement of the head is detected by MPU6050 and the signal is transmitted to the microcontroller. Then the signal is processed by controller and motion of wheelchair is enabled for navigation. The wheelchair was capable of moving left, right, forward and backward direction. The speed of the wheelchair was 4.8 km/h when tested. Design objective of the wheelchair included cost effectiveness without compromising safety, flexibility and mobility for the users.

Effect of poly(vinyl pyrrolidone)on the morphology and physical properties of poly(vinyl alcohol)/sodium montmorillonite nanocomposite films

Nanocomposites of poly(vinyl alcohol)(PVA),poly(vinyl pyrrolidone)(PVP) and sodium montmorillonite(Na+MMT) were prepared by solution mixing and then cast into films.X-ray diffraction analysis and images of transmission electron microscopy establish the formation of PVA/Na+MMT intercalated *** and highly intercalated PVA/PVP/Na+MMT nanocomposite formed in the presence of *** of PVP in PVA/Na+MMT matrix enhances the hydrogen bonding interactions between PVA and Na+MMT and thus increases the mechanical properties and thermal stability of PVA/PVP/Na+MMT nanocomposites compared to PVA/Na+MMT *** interactions between PVA,PVP and Na+MMT were established by the Fourier transform infrared *** moisture absorption tendency of both the PVA and PVA/PVP films reduced after the incorporation of Na+MMT at 75%constant relative *** scanning calorimetry studies show that the presence of PVP and Na+MMT both are responsible for reducing the heat of fusion,and crystallinity of *** flow behavior of the PVA,PVA/PVP and its nanocomposite solutions has been also *** vapor permeability of PVA/PVP/Na+MMT composite films decreased in the presence of nanoclay due to increasing tortuous paths for diffusion.

An exploratory survey was conducted on the uses and role of invasive alien species(IAS) to local livelihoods in the Rema-kalenga Wildlife Sanctuary in the northeastern hilly region of *** was sampled in 50 quadrates,each 10 m×10 m,and 25 line transects,each 50 m×20 m,through a combination of random and systematic *** discussions were also arranged with fifty local inhabitants(17 % of the total inhabitants) to learn the various uses of IAS.A total of 17 alien plant species belonging to 10 different families,of which Leguminosae constitutes the highest number(5 species),include tree(53%) followed by herb(12%),shrub(12%) and others(weed,climber and palm).The majority of the identified species were found to be used for fuel,followed by timber production,medicinal or curative uses,fodder,and many *** addition to providing various forest products,alien tree species planted in forest plantation help provide many vital ecosystem services such as soil amelioration through nitrogen *** is true that the alien species have some negative impacts on local ecosystems,and not all of them are ***,a national programme must be initiated to distinguish the harmful from the harmless species and to identify the uses and impacts of the former and latter.

Pabna is one the most densely populated town with poor transport infrastructure in Bangladesh. Here huge pedestriangathers in roads and intersections in CBD （Central Business District） area mainly for commercial and business purposes. At present,pedestrian facilities are one of the greatest challenges in terms of traffic and safety for the urban dwellers. The footpath, zebra rossing,road intersection, walkways, parking and other facilities are the major part of road transportation system as well as pedestrianfacilities and people have to pass walking distance to reach their destinations, before and after use of transport mode. For instance,this paper tries to emphasize the problems of pedestrian facilities and to explore the qualitative level of comfort for the pedestrians ofthree selected intersections namely Traffic More, Indra More and Nimtola More in CBD area of Pabna Municipality through primaryand secondary data. However, about 60% trips are making on foot every day, but the pedestrians are facing many problems whileusing the walkways. Pedestrian crossing behaviors were also observed by using pedestrian volume survey and the survey exploresthat pedestrian crossing rate at these intersections is about 5,000 to 7,000 per hour at a peak period and average 15% to 25% illegalcrossing occurs at those intersections. The physical observation and data from the questionnaire survey also indicate that informalbusiness on the footpath, illegal parking, illegal vendor on walkways, physical obstacle, poor lighting facilities and geometricproblem of the road intersection makes uncomfortable situations for the pedestrian day by day.

In this paper,a kretschmann configuration based surface plasmon resonance(SPR)sensor is numerically designed using graphene-MoS_(2) hybrid structure TiO_(2)-SiO_(2) nano particles for formalin *** this design,the observations of SPR angle versus minimum reflectance and SPR frequency(FSPR)versus maximum transmittance(Tmax)are *** chitosan is used as probe legend to perform reaction with the formalin(40%formaldehyde)which acts as target *** this paper,both graphene and MoS_(2) are used as biomolecular acknowledgment element(BAE)and TiO_(2) as well as SiO_(2) bilayers is used to improve the sensitivity of the *** numerical results show that the variation of FSPR and SPR angles for inappropriate sensing of formalin is quite insignificant which confirms the absence of *** the other hand,these variations for appropriate sensing are considerably significant that confirm the presence of *** the end of this article,the variation of sensitivity of the proposed biosensor is measured in corresponding to the increment of a refractive index with a refractive index step 0.01 refractive index unit(RIU).In inclusion of TiO_(2)-SiO_(2) bilayers with graphene-MoS_(2),a maximum sensitivity of 85.375%is numerically calculated.

Feminist literary theory underpins literature from matriarchal perspective revolting against prototype patriarchal ritual *** dogmatism,superstition,close-eyed religious propaganda,language engineering and so *** questions the textual politics of dissipating womankind in *** shatters long-cherishing outlook of gender inequality,gender politics,power relation,sexual objectification,oppression,patriarchy,stereotyping and so *** this connection,this theory sees women along with their experiences,thinking,language,position and role playing,cultural conditioning,diction,and above all,matriarchal assertion in *** literary criticism has been generated from feminism and the basic aim of the theory is to investigate and trace out how female characters have been positioned in literature compared with male characters in terms of social and biological factors of different ages of the past started from *** literary theory has also deconstructed texts from two different perspectives *** written by men and text written by *** paper attempts to evalualte feminist literary criticism as a subtle machinery or paradigm of matriarchy not only in avant-garde but also in old texts of literature.
