The Concept of Information Support for Bi-oresource and Ecosystem Research in the north-West Pacific: Theory and Practical Implementation

The first part of the article provides an overview of the theoretical evidence, the main provisions, and the implementation strategy of information support for bioresource and ecosystem research in the north-west Pacific, which has been conducted over the past 20 years in the Russian Far East Research Institute TInRO-Center. In short, the concept consists of a combination of the following four assertions: 1) For the steady and sustainable development of the Russian Far East, the entire Russian Federation and the Asia-Pacific Region in general, environmental, food, economic, and other security is required, which cannot be achieved without the rational use of bioresources based on the ecosystem approach to the management of aquatic bioresources. 2) For the inventory, appraisal, monitoring, forecasting of the state of and management the natural water resources when applying this approach, statistically relevant quantitative information is required on the greatest possible number of constituents of marine biocenosis of the north-western Pacific for the longest possible period of time, which is only available at the TInRO-Center. 3) This valuable data should be organized into databases, based on which geo-information and other electronic information systems are prepared, and based on these map atlases and reference books on natural water resources, using automated workplaces created especially for this. 4) The resulting unique information support will be of great value not only for practical purposes, but also for science, both applied and fundamental. next comes a summary of the many years of work on the practical implementation of this concept and the key achievements in this field obtained by the TInRO-Center by the end of 2015 are reviewed. At the end, some plans for the near future are outlined.

The Confirmed validity of the Explanatory Aspect of the Thermohydrogravidynamic Theory Concerning the Evaluated maximal magnitude of the Strongest Earthquake of the Earth near the Predicted Date 2021.1 AD during the Range from October 27, 2020 to may 17, 2021 AD

We present the explanation (in the frame of the established thermohydrogravidynamic technology) of the maximal magnitude m = 8.1 (according to the U.S. Geological Survey) of the strongest earthquake of the Earth occurred in Kermadec Islands, new Zealand on march 4, 2021 AD (during the considered range from October 27, 2020 to may 17, 2021 AD). This strongest earthquake occurred near the calculated date 2021.1 AD corresponding (in the frame of the thermohydrogravidynamic theory) to the local maximal combined planetary and solar integral energy gravitational influence on the internal rigid core of the Earth. To obtain this explanation, we have analyzed the strongest earthquakes of the Earth (according to the U.S. Geological Survey) occurred near the dates of the local maximal combined planetary and solar integral energy gravitational influences on the internal rigid core of the Earth.

Predictive value of multi-detector computed tomography for accurate diagnosis of serous cystadenoma:Radiologic-pathologic correlation

AIm： To identify multi-detector computed tomography （mDCT） features most predictive of serous cystadenomas （SCAs）, correlating with histopathology, and to study the impact of cyst size and mDCT technique on reader performance. mETHODS： The mDCT scans of 164 patients with surgically verified pancreatic cystic lesions were reviewed by two readers to study the predictive value of various morphological features for establishing a diagnosis of SCAs. Accuracy in lesion characterization and reader confidence were correlated with lesion size （≤3 cm or 〉≥3 cm） and scanning protocols （dedicated vs routine）. RESULTS： 28/164 cysts （mean size, 39 mm; range, 8-92 mm） were diagnosed as SCA on pathology. The mDCT features predictive of diagnosis of SCA were microcystic appearance （22/28, 78.6%）, surface Iobulations （25/28, 89.3%） and central scar （9/28, 32.4%）. Stepwise logistic regression analysis showed that only microcystic appearance was significant for CT diagnosis of SCA （P = 0.0001）. The sensitivity, specificity and PPv of central scar and of combined microcystic appearance and Iobulations were 32.4%/100%/100% and 68%/100%/100%, respectively. The reader confidence was higher for lesions 〉 3 cm （P = 0.02） and for mDCT scans performed using thin collimation （1.25-2.5 mm） compared to routine 5 mm collimation exams （P 〉 0.05）. COnCLUSIOn： Central scar on mDCT is diagnostic of SCA but is seen in only one third of SCAs. microcystic morphology is the most significant CT feature in diagnosis of SCA. A combination of microcystic appearance and surface Iobulations offers accuracy comparable to central scar with higher sensitivity.

A composite fall-slippage model is proposed in this study for the Tertiary sedimentary coastal cliffs of varkala in the western coastal tract of Peninsular India which are retreating landwards due to the combination of several *** fall model in the present study accounts both spring seepage and wave action,resulting in undercutting and this fall affects only the topmost laterite and the just below sandstone in the *** in this area affects all the litho-units and hence the geologic characteristics of all the litho-units are considered for developing the slippage *** mathematically derived model can be used in other cliffs exhibiting the same morphology as well as the one controlled by the same influencing *** model differs from other models in incorporating multi-lithounits as well as *** cliffs form a part of the aspiring geopark in the Global Geopark network and hence a study on the cliff recession is a pressing requirement.

single-walled carbon nanotube networks for ethanol vapor sensing applications

networks of pristine high quality single walled carbon nanotubes （SWnTs）, the SWnTs after Ar-plasma treatment （from 2 to 12 rain） and carbon nanobuds （CnBs） have been tested for ethanol vapor sensing. It was found that the pristine high quality SWnTs do not exhibit any ethanol sensitivity, while the introduction of defects in the tubes results in the appearance of the ethanol sensitivity. The CnB network showed ethanol sensitivity without plasma treatment. Both CnB and low defect （after 3 min treatment） SWnT networks exhibit significant drift in the resistance baseline, while heavily plasma-treated （9 min） SWnTs exhibited high ethanol vapor sensitivity without the baseline change. The mechanisms of the ethanol sensitivity and stability after the plasma irradiation are attributed to the formation of sensitive dangling bonds in the SWnTs and formation of defect channels facilitating access of the ethanol vapor to all parts of the bundled nanotubes.

Experimental and numerical Analysis of Turbulent Flow Heat Transfer Enhancement in a Horizontal Circular Tube Using mesh Inserts

The present work focuses on experimental and numerical investigations of the augmentation of turbulent flow heat transfer in a horizontal circular tube by means of mesh inserts with air as the working fluid. Sixteen types of mesh inserts with screen diameters of 22 mm, 18 mm, 14 mm and 10 mm for varying distance between the screens of 50 mm, 100 mm, 150 mm and 200 mm in the porosity range of 99.73 to 99.98 were considered for experimentation. The horizontal tube was subjected to constant and uniform heat flux. The Reynolds number varied from 7,000 to 14,000. The results are compared with the clear flow case when no porous material was used. Computational fluid dynamics （CFD） techniques were also employed to perform optimization analysis of the mesh inserts. The horizontal tube along with mesh inserts was modeled in Gambit 2.2.30 with fine meshing and analyzed using FLUEnT 6.2.16. CFD analysis was performed initially for plain tube and the results are compared with experimental values for validation.

A Structural and morphological Study of LiCo_1-XSm_XO_Y Powders Obtained by the Sol-Gel method

In this study, the synthesis of LiCo1-XSmXOy powders (X = 0.002, 0.004, 0.006, 0.008, and 0.1) by the sol-gel method and the influence of Sm on their structural and morphological properties is reported for the first time. The results of x-ray diffraction (XRD) studies show that LiCoO2 powders synthesized at temperatures up to 700°C present a characteristic hexagonal crystalline phase of the α-naFeO2 type (space group R-3m), revealing a shift in the (0 0 3) Bragg reflection, which reflects the presence of Sm in the crystalline structure. The morphology was spheroidal and, on average, 122 nm in size. Based on the data obtained, LiCo1-XSmXOy powders (X = 0.002, 0.004, 0.006, 0.008, and 0.1) show promise as a material for use in the cathodes of lithium-ion batteries.

A four-element compact dual-band patch antenna having a common ground plane operating at 28/38 GHz is proposed formillimeter-wave communication systems in this ***-input-multiple-output(mImO)antenna geometry consists of a slotted ellipse enclosed within a hollow circle which is orthogonally rotated with a connected partial ground at the *** overall size of the four elements mImO antenna is 2.24λ×2.24λ(at 27.12GHz).The prototype of four-element mImOresonator is designed and printed using Rogers RTDuroid 5880 withε_(r)=2.2 and loss tangent=0.0009 and having a thickness of 0.8 *** covers dual-band having a fractional bandwidth of 15.7%(27.12-31.34 GHz)and 4.2%(37.21-38.81 GHz)for millimeter-wave applications with a gain of more than 4 dBi at both *** proposed antenna analysis in terms ofmImOdiversity parameters(Envelope Correlation Coefficient(ECC)and Diversity Gain(DG))is also carried *** experimental result in terms of reflection coefficient,radiation pattern,gain and mImOdiversity parameter correlates very well with the simulated ones that show the potential of the proposed design for mImO applications at millimeter-wave frequencies.
