Following the unanimous recommendation of the International Commission on stratigraphy, the Global boundary stratotype section and Point (GssP) for the base of the Cenomanian stage is defined at a level 36 metres below the top of the Marnes Bleues Formation, a level that corresponds to the the first appearance of the planktonic foraminiferan Rotalipora globotruncanoides sigal, 1948, on the south side of Mont Risou, east of Rosans, Haute-Alpes, France, where it can be placed in the context of a series of secondary marker levels based on nannofossils, planktonic foraminifera, ammonites,and an ornate δ^13C curve.

Chronic lymphocytic leukemia(CLL)is 10-to 20-fold less common in Han Chinese in China compared with persons of predominately European descent translating to inci-dences of 0.2 to 0.6 per 10E+5 population/year vs.4.6 per 10E+5 population/year.[1-3] Reason(s)for this markedly lower incidence and therefore prevalence in China is unknown but is shared with the other Asian nationalities ***,Koreans,and others,.+-61 studies of large cohorts of Chinese with CLL are relatively rare and there are no population-based studies in the mainland of *** seeming differences between CLL in Chinese and persons of predominately European descent are reported such as younger age at diagnosis,different background genotypes,increased frequency of IGHV mutation,different stereotype use and different mutation topographies.7 However,in general,most cases of CLL in Han Chinese are like CLL in persons of predominately European descent.

Innate immunity is critical for the control of virus infection and operates to restrict viral susceptibility and direct antiviral immunity for protection from acute or chronic viral-associated diseases including cancer. RIG-I like receptors(RLRs) are cytosolic RNA helicases that function as pathogen recognition receptors to detect RNA pathogen associated molecular patterns(PAMPs) of virus infection. The RLRs include RIG-I, MDA5, and LGP2. They function to recognize and bind to PAMP motifs within viral RNA in a process that directs the RLR to trigger downstream signaling cascades that induce innate immunity that controls viral replication and spread. Products of RLR signaling also serve to modulate the adaptive immune response to infection. Recent studies have additionally connected RLRs to signaling cascades that impart inflammatory and apoptotic responses to virus infection. Viral evasion of RLR signaling supports viral outgrowth and pathogenesis, including the onset of viral-associated cancer.

Correlation of Whole Blood Zinc Levels,CD4 Cell Count,Disease stage,and Dermatologic Manifestations Among HIV Patients:A single Center Experience in Philippines

Objective:Zinc deficiency is the most common micronutrient abnormality seen in human immunodeficiency virus(HIV)*** of CD4 cells is a hallmark of HIV *** study aims to determine the association between whole blood zinc levels and CD4 cell count and stage of HIV infection among patients in a tertiary hospital in the ***:sixty-five newly diagnosed HIV-positive patients of the institution were *** profile,whole blood zinc levels,CD4 cell count level,HIV disease stage,and presence of any dermatologic manifestations were *** of zinc deficiency and correlation between whole blood zinc levels and CD4 cell count were *** data were analyzed by chi-square and pearson correlation ***:Among the 65 patients,overall zinc deficiency was noted at 33.8%.Low CD4 count and HIV disease stage IV participants had the highest percentage of zinc deficiency at 54.6%and 50%,respectively.A correlation coefficient atr=0.3364 was noted between whole blood zinc levels and CD4 cell count(P=0.006).Twenty-nine patients presented with dermatologic manifestations,with 10 patients being zinc ***:A weak positive correlation was seen between zinc levels and CD4 *** is an increasing frequency of zinc level deficiency with a higher HIV disease *** manifestations of HIV may be present in both patients with normal and deficient zinc levels.

The intrinsic synchronization, multi-color outputs and related carrier-envelope phases (CEP) among pulses bring advantages to synchronously pumped femtosecond optical parametric oscillators and the pumping sources for broadband frequency comb generation and ultrashort waveform coherent syn-thesis. In this paper, we discuss our latest research results in this field, which cover the following as-pects: the phase relationship and energy conservation law in an OPO and related experimental verifi-cation; control of the pumping Ti:sapphire femtosecond laser's CEP by self-referencing technology, and its repetition-rate locking by piezoelectric transducer (PZT); CEP locking of the pulses from the OPO by beating the non-phase-matched visible outputs against pump supercontinuum to obtain a driving signal for a fast PZT on the OPO end mirror; the generation of a broadband frequency comb spanning from 400 nm to 2.4 μm with 1.2 kHz bandwidth; and the realization of coherent interference between phase controlled pump pulses and signal second harmonic pulses.

Variant of Wellen’s syndrome in type 1 diabetic patient: A case report

BACKGROUND Wellen’s syndrome is a form of acute coronary syndrome associated with proximal left anterior descending artery(LAD)stenosis and characteristic electro-cardiograph(ECG)patterns in pain free *** abnormal ECG pattern is classified into type A(biphasic T waves)and type B(deeply inverted T waves),based on the T wave pattern seen in the pericodial chest *** sUMMARY We present the case of a 37-year-old male with history of type 1 diabetes mellitus(T1DM),gastroparesis,mild peripheral artery disease and right toe cellulitis on IV antibiotics who presented to the emergency department with nausea,vomiting and abdominal pain for 3 d and as a result couldn’t take his *** to have fasting blood sugar 392 mg/*** for diabetic *** the hospital course,the patient was asymptomatic and denied any chest *** admission,No ECG and troponin draws were *** day 2,the patient became hypoxic with oxygen saturation 80%on room air,intermittent mild right-sided chest pain which he attributed to vomiting from his *** ECG done was significant for Biphasic T wave changes in leads V2 and V3 and elevated high sensitivity *** was transitioned to cardiac intensive care unit and cardiac catheterization performed with result significant for extensive coronary artery *** This case highlights an exceptional manifestation of Wellen's syndrome,wherein the right coronary artery and circumflex artery display a remarkable 100%constriction,alongside a proximal LAD stenosis of 90%-95%.Notably,this occurrence transpired in a patient grappling with extensive complications arising from ***,it underscores the utmost significance of promptly recognizing the presence of Wellen's syndrome and swiftly initiating appropriate medical intervention.

A dominant gene, Pml2, conferring the resistance to powdery mildew (Erysiphe graminis) has been transferred to wheat from Aegilops speltoides. sixteen RFLP probes were used to test Line 31 and its parents, showing that Line 31 is a 6B/6s translocation lines. The linkage analysis by five probes indicates that Pm12 is located on the chromosome 6B/6s, and tightly flanked by an RFLP marker α-Amy-1 (1.1 cM), identified by RFLP and isozyme analysis. This approach is equally applicable to the identification of other transferred alien genes and the segments of alien chromosome introgressed into wheat.

Validating a Prognostic Model for Mortality of Psychogeriatric Inpatients

Background: To validate a predictive scoring system for 1-year mortality among psychogeriatric inpatients admitted for acute psychiatric care. Methods: Computerized data were extracted from the District Health Board Database for a university affiliated general hospital. A geriatric risk scoring system developed in the UsA was employed to validate mortality within 1-year of hospital discharge. Results: Among 125 psychogeriatric inpatients who were discharged in 2017, [mean age 82.8 (±8.9) years, 82 (65.6%) women] 33 died within 1-year [26.4% of the sample, mean age, 87.7 (±11.1) years, 25 (75.7%) women]. Levine’s mortality index predicted death. A post hoc probit analysis found two factors significantly associated with predicted mortality: metastatic cancer (Chi-square = 5.6;p Conclusions: A geriatric 1-year mortality scoring system accurately predicted mortality among psychogeriatric inpatients. Predicting psychogeriatric mortality should be considered a guideline for ensuring quality of care and appropriate discharge and advanced care planning.

Fleshy-fruited plants in tropical forests largely rely on vertebrate frugivores to disperse their *** this plant-animal interaction is typically considered a diffuse mutualism,it is fundamental as it provides the template on which tropical forest communities are *** applied a mutualistic network approach to investigate the relationship between small-fruited fleshy plant species and the fruit-eating bird community in an intact evergreen forest in north-east Thailand.A minimum of 53 bird species consumed fruits of 136 plant ***-avian frugivore networks were highly asymmetrical,with observed networks filling 30%of all potential *** some of the missing links in the present study might be due to undersampling,forbidden links can be attributed to size constraints,accessibility and phenological uncoupling,and although the majority of missing links were unknown(58.2%),many were probably due to a given bird species being either rare or only a very occasional fruit *** most common frugivores were bulbuls,barbets and fairy-bluebirds,which were responsible for the majority of fruit removal from small fleshy fruited species in our *** birds seemed to be a minor component of the plant-frugivore networks,accounting for only 3%of feeding visits to fruiting trees;they filled 2%of the overall potential *** majority of interactions were generalized unspecific;however,saurauia roxburghii *** to be dependent on flowerpeckers for dispersal,while Thick-billed Pigeons were only seen to eat figs.

Objective:We investigate(1)the influence of ethnic,gender,and age concordance with inter-viewers and(2)how expression of qualitative data varies between interviews delivered in English and community languages(Punjabi/Urdu)with monolingual and bilingual participants across three generations of the Indian sikh and Pakistani Muslim communities living in the ***:We analyzed and interpreted semi-structured interview transcripts that were designed to collect data about lifestyles,disease management,community practices/beliefs,and social ***,qualitative content analysis was applied to ***,a framework was ap-plied as a guide to identify cross-language illustrations where responses varied in length,expression and ***:Participant responses differed by language and ***-generation migrants when discussing religion,culture,or family practice were far likelier to use group or community narra-tives and give a longer response,indicating familiarity with or importance of such *** and gender concordance generated greater rapport between researchers and participants centered on community values and ***,open-ended questions that were less direct were better suited for first-generation ***:Community-based researchers need more time to complete interviews in second languages,need to acknowledge that narratives can be contextualized in both personal and com-munity views,and reframe questions that may lead to greater ***,we detail a number of recommendations with regard to validating the translation of interviews from commu-nity languages to English as well as measures for testing language proficiency.
