The threat of biological and chemical terror acts remains a growing worldwide *** is therefore a need to develop appropriate technology for the detection of chemical and biological warfare agents,with early identification intended for use by first ***,we disclose the developed autonomous air sampling and detection system for evaluation of the presence of chemical and biological warfare agents that can be harmful to the *** current device utilizes the designed mist generator-assisted air collection system(338 l min^(−1))and biosensing chip technologies,such as electrochemical measurement,Au nanoparticle-based localized surface plasmon resonance,and rapid microfluidic chip PCR for detection of minute concentrations lower than the mean lethal dose(LD_(50))of nerve gases(sarin and VX),toxic proteins(BTX/A/Hc and ricin),and pathogens(anthrax simulant).An operation time of only 5–15 min is needed for the collection and detection;sample preparation is already integrated into the system without the need for direct human *** addition to the system’s sensitivity and ease of use,its portability makes it highly beneficial for first responders,which could aid in immediate risk assessment and mitigation of on-site events.

Effect of collagen and collagen peptides from bluefin tuna abdominal skin on cancer cells

In the present study, we investigated the effect of collagen and collagen peptides from bluefin tuna abdominal skin on cancer cells. Collagens were extracted from bluefin tuna (Thunnus orientails) abdominal, mackerel, and carp skin. The calf and salmon collagen were used reagent grade as a standard samples. The main protein band pattern produced by SDS-PAGE of all collagen samples consisted of two chains and one chain. For collagen peptides samples, bluefin tuna ab-dominal skin collagen and salmon skin collagen were hydrolyzed by trypsin. Among samples, salmon, mackerel, carp collagen, and their collagen peptides did not significantly reduce relative cell growth. However, the bluefin tuna abdominal skin collagen dramatically reduced HepG2 and HeLa cell growth by over 50% relative in a concentration-dependent manner when added to cells seeded 96-well plates. This suggests the collagen adding time was mightily important for effect of the collagen.

Leukotriene B4(LTB4)receptor 1(BLT1)is a chemotactic G protein-coupled receptor expressed by leukocytes,such as granulocytes,macrophages,and activated T *** there is growing evidence that BLT1 plays crucial roles in immune responses,its role in dendritic cells remains largely ***,we identified novel DC subsets defined by the expression of BLT1,namely,BLT1hi and BLT1lo *** also found that BLT1hi and BLT1lo DCs differentially migrated toward LTB4 and CCL21,a lymph node-homing chemoattractant,*** generating LTB4-producing enzyme LTA4H knockout mice and CD11c promoter-driven Cre recombinase-expressing BLT1 conditional knockout(BLT1 cKO)mice,we showed that the migration of BLT1hi DCs exacerbated allergic contact *** transcriptome analysis revealed that BLT1hi DCs preferentially induced Th1 differentiation by upregulating IL-12p35 expression,whereas BLT1lo DCs accelerated T cell proliferation by producing ***,the data reveal an unexpected role for BLT1 as a novel DC subset marker and provide novel insights into the role of the LTB4-BLT1 axis in the spatiotemporal regulation of distinct DC subsets.

Conscious Sedation and Awake Fiberoptic Intubation in a Patient with Difficult Mask Ventilation—A Case Report

Since maxillofacial malignancy is a common cause of facial defects and disfigurement of the face that may make fitting of a mask difficult and cause air leakage from the side, thus making mask ventilation difficult. In addition, distorted anatomy of the airway and base of the skull in such patients may cause difficult intubation (DI). We experienced a case with a huge facial defect due to maxillary carcinoma, in which difficult mask ventilation (DMV) and DI were predicted. After evaluation by three-dimensional airway computed tomography, the airway was secured with conscious sedation using dexmedetomidine, and awake fiberoptic intubation was safely performed. Three-dimensional airway computed tomography seems to be a good tool for successful intubation when DMV and DI are predicted.

Swallowing Function before and after Subtotal Glossectomy and Reconstruction with a Rectus Abdominis Musculocutaneous Flap: A Case Report

Purpose: Swallowing function was in a patient with tongue cancer that was evaluated with video fluorography before and after subtotal glossectomy and reconstruction with a rectus abdominis muscuocutaneous flap. Materials and Methods: A 41-year-old man underwent subtotal glossectomy and retained the unilateral posterior mylohyoid and unilateral stylohyoid muscles. The structure of the flap was evaluated postoperatively. To assess swallowing function, video fluorography was performed before surgery, 1 month after surgery and 1 year after surgery. Testing involved 1) ability to hold 10 mL of liquid in the oral cavity, 2) epiglottis turnover, 3) the presence of aspiration, 4) hyoid bone movement, and 5) maximum width of the esophageal entrance. Results: The flap was protuberant postoperatively. The patient was able to hold the test diet in the oral cavity before and after surgery. Epiglottis turnover was good before surgery but insufficient after surgery. Aspiration during swallowing was not observed before or after surgery. At rest, the hyoid bone sagged postoperatively, in comparison with preoperatively. Hyoid bone movement and width of the esophageal entrance decreased after surgery;however, they demonstrated gradual recovery. Conclusions: For good postoperative swallowing function after subtotal glossectomy, it is necessary to perform reconstruction with protuberant flap and to retain the suprahyoid muscles as much as possible.

A new triterpenoid saponin, named segetoside k, has been isolated from the seeds of Vaccaria segetalis. On the basis of chemical reaction and spectral analysis, the structure of segetoside K was established as:olean-12-ene-23a, 286-dioic acid 36, 16a-dihydroxy-28-O- [βD-glucopyranosyl-(1 →3)]-β-D-glucopyra-nosyl-(l →2)-β-D-glucopyranosyl-(l→6)-β-D- glucopyranoside(1).

1 Introduction Plasma fluctuations in magnetically confined devices, such as the magnetohydrodynamic （MHD） and drift-type turbulence in tokamaks, possess multiple spatio-temporal scales and spectral anisotropy and/or nonlinear instabilities. coexist and interplay each due to the richness of linear Multi-scale fluctuations may other in a highly turbulent environment so that the characteristics of individual turbulence may be affected, even changed. This important issue has attracted intensive attention recently. As an aspect of such problems, coherent zonal flow and low frequency long wavelength generalized Kelvin-Helmholtz （GKH） fluctuations are generated nonlinearly as a secondary component.

多数研究表明抗乙酰胆碱受体抗体(AChR-Ab)滴度与重症肌无力(MG)病情严重程度之间无明显相关性,但是MG患者AChR-Ab水平是否可以用来监测MG病情变化或者预测MG预后呢?该研究探讨了MG患者经免疫抑制治疗1年后,药物诱导下AChR-Ab水平变化与MG预后的关系。该研究纳入了2013年1月至2018年12月日本千叶大学附属医院收治的53例AChR-Ab阳性的MG患者,在免疫抑制治疗之后的100 d内重新检测AChR-Ah。
