The data clustering problem consists in dividing a data set into prescribed groups of homogeneous *** is an NP-hard problem that can be relaxed in the spectral graph theory,where the optimal cuts of a graph are related to the eigenvalues of graph *** this paper,we first give new notations to describe the paths,among critical eigenvectors of the graph 1-Laplacian,realizing sets with prescribed *** introduce the pseudo-orthogonality to characterize m_(3)(G),a special eigenvalue for the graph ***,we use it to give an upper bound for the third graph Cheeger constant h_(3)(G),that is,h_(3)(G)≤m_(3)(G).This is a first step for proving that the k-th Cheeger constant is the minimum of the 1-Laplacian Raylegh quotient among vectors that are pseudo-orthogonal to the vectors realizing the previous k−1 Cheeger ***,we apply these results to give a method and a numerical algorithm to compute m3(G),based on a generalized inverse power method.

The continuous accumulation of operational data has provided an ideal platform to devise and implement customized data analytics for smart HVAC fault detection and *** practice,the potentials of advanced supervised learning algorithms have not been fully realized due to the lack of sufficient labeled *** tackle such data challenges,this study proposes a graph neural network-based approach to effectively utilizing both labeled and unlabeled operational data for optimum *** specifically,a graph generation method is proposed to transform tabular building operational data into association graphs,based on which graph convolutions are performed to derive useful insights for fault *** experiments have been designed to evaluate the values of the methods *** datasets on HVAC air-side operations have been used to ensure the generalizability of results *** data scenarios,which vary in training data amounts and imbalance ratios,have been created to comprehensively quantify behavioral patterns of representative graph convolution networks and their *** research results indicate that graph neural networks can effectively leverage associations among labeled and unlabeled data samples to achieve an increase of 2.86%–7.30%in fault classification accuracies,providing a novel and promising solution for smart building management.

In this paper,a tool for the detection and diagnosis of anomalous electrical daily energy patterns relative to a transformer substation of a university campus was developed and *** an innovative pattern recognition analysis consisting in a multi-step clustering process,six clusters of anomalous daily load profiles were identified and isolated in two-year historical data of total electrical energy *** infrequent electrical load profiles were found to be strongly affected,in terms of both shape and magnitude,by the energy consumption behaviour related to the heating/cooling mechanical ***,a fault-free predictive model,which uses artificial neural network(ANN)in combination with a Regression Tree,was developed to detect anomalous trends of the electrical energy *** model was able to detect the 93.7%of the anomalous profiles and only the 5%of fault-free days were wrongly predicted as ***,a diagnosis phase was conceived and validated with a testing data set.A number of daily abnormal load profiles were detected and compared with the centroids of the anomalous clusters identified in the pattern-recognition *** work led to the development of a flexible intelligent tool useful for operating a continuous commissioning of the campus facilities.

Intraepithelial lymphocytes(IELs)are immune cells located in the epithelium of the mucosal layer of the gastrointestinal tract that typically show a CD3-positive *** are T lymphocytes that are involved in the primary immune response to several luminal antigens,such as food proteins and infectious *** this reason,their increase may be pathogenetic in several diseases,the most important being celiac ***,an increase above 25 IELs/100 enterocytes in the duodenum,which is considered the cutoff value for celiac disease,may occur in several conditions,such as nonceliac gluten sensitivity,food allergy,Helicobacter pylori(***)infection,gastroenteritis,and even irritable bowel syndrome(IBS).Therefore,the generic term“microscopic enteritis”or“duodenal lymphocytosis”has been proposed for this condition.

In this article, we have reviewed the main therapeutic measures for the treatment of Zollinger-Ellison syndrome （ZES）. Review of the literature was based on computer searches （Pub-Med, Index Medicus） and personal experiences. We have evaluated all the measures now available for treating patients with sporadic gastrinomas or gastrinomas associated with Multiple Endocrine Neoplasia Type 1, （MEN 1） including medical therapy such as antisecretory drugs and somatostatin analogs （SST）, chemotherapy and chemoembolization, and surgical procedures. In ZES patients, the best therapeutic procedure is surgery which, if radical, can be curative. Medical treatment can be the best palliative therapy and should be used, when possible, in association with surgery, in a multimodal therapeutic approach.

Characterization and manufacturing of a paraffin wax as fuel for hybrid rockets

The hybrid propulsion performed with paraffin waxes exhibits most attractive capabilities compared to solid or liquid engines,e.g.,throttleability and re-ignition,alongside higher regression rates compared to the conventional hydroxyl terminated polybutadiene(HTPB)hybrid *** is because the paraffin wax forms a thin and hydro-dynamically unstable liquid layer,and then enhances the regression rate with the entrainment of droplets from the liquid-gas ***,some critical open points on the manufacturing of the paraffin fuel grains still persist,because the paraffin wax exhibits high shrinkage during the solidification phase,leading to the formation of cavities,cracks and internal rips,which may be detrimental to the mechanical properties and the structural integrity of the fuel *** this context,this paper deals with a wide calorimetric,thermo-mechanical and physical characterization of the paraffin wax selected to manufacture the hybrid rocket engines(HRE)fuel grain,in order to gain a thorough knowledge of the material necessary to avoid the formation of critical *** manufacturing methods were investigated,and it was found that only laboratory scale processes,based on the use of a heated circular mould-piston apparatus,are able to avoid the formation of critical defects,with the application of both high temperature and pressure.

Epithelial turnover in duodenal familial adenomatous polyposis: A possible role for estrogen receptors?

AIM: To investigate estrogen receptors expression in duodenal familial adenomatous polyposis (FAP) and any relationship with epithelial proliferation/apoptosis ***: Twenty-two patients affected by FAP undergoing duodenal resection for malignancies were recruited. Controls were 15 healthy subjects undergoing endoscopy for dyspeptic symptoms. ER-α, ER-α, Ki-67, TUNEL and caspase 3 expression (labeling index: percentage of positive cells) were evaluated by immunohistochemistry or immunofluorescence and examined by light or confocal microscopy. Samples were assigned to four groups: normal tissue, low (LGD) and high-grade dysplasia (HGD), adenocarcinoma (AC). One-way analysis of variance, corrected by Bonferroni’s test, and Pearson’s correlation test were applied for statistical ***: ER-beta showed a progressive decline: normal tissue (23.5 ± 4.9), LGD (21.1 ± 4.8), HGD (9.3 ± 3.5), AC (7.1 ± 3.1). The normal tissue of FAP subjects expressed ER-beta like the controls (23.9 ± 6.2). Conversely, ER-α showed a progressive increase from normal tissue (24.8 ± 5.6) to AC (52.0 ± 8.2); the expression in normal tissue was similar to controls (22.5 ± 5.3). Ki67 demonstrated a statistically significant progressive increase at each disease stage up to AC. TUNEL did not reveal differences between controls and normal tissue of FAP subjects, but progressive decreases were observed in LGD, through HGD to AC. Pearson’s correlation test showed a direct relationship between ER-β and TUNEL LI (r = 0.8088, P < 0.0001). Conversely, ER-α was inversely correlated with TUNEL LI (r = - 0.7257, P < 0.0001). Selective Ig M deficiency(s IGMD)is very rare;it may be associated with celiac disease(CD).We present the case of an 18-year-old man with s IGMD masking seronegative *** included abdominal pain,diarrhea and weight *** tests showed reduced Ig M,DQ2-HLA and negative *** atrophy and diffuse immature lymphocytes were observed at *** transglutaminase m RNA mucosal levels showed a 6-fold *** patient was treated with a gluten-free diet(GFD)and six months later the symptoms had disappeared,the villous architecture was restored and mucosal tissue transglutaminase m RNA was comparable to that of healthy *** 1 year of GFD,a complete restoration of normal Ig M values was observed and duodenal biopsy showed a reduction of immature lymphocytes and normal appearance of mature immune cells.
