This paper investigates the effects of the physical properties on the microstructure and weldability of explosive welding by joining two metals with a significant contrast in thermophysical properties:stainless steel and *** welds between stainless steel and copper were obtained,and the interfacial morphology was wavy,regardless of the position of the *** weldability of dissimilar pairs was found to be more dependent on the relationship between the physical properties of the base materials than on the absolute value of the material *** there is a significant difference in thermal conductivity between the flyer and the base plate,together with a material with a low melting temperature,the weldability of the pair is often *** relative position of the plates affects the interfacial microstructure even when similar morphologies are *** the metallic pairs studied,the wave size was bigger for the configuration in which the ratio between the density of the flyer and the density of the base plate is *** same phenomenon was observed for the impedance:bigger waves were found for a smaller ratio between the impedance of the flyer and the impedance of the base plate.

The effects of low-volume combined training on health-related physical fitness outcomes in active young adults: A controlled clinical trial

The effects of combined training(CT)on improving general health are well known,however,few studies have investigated the effects of low-volume ***,the aim of this study is to investigate the effects of 6 weeks of lowvolume CT on body composition,handgrip strength(HGS),cardiorespiratory fitness(CRF)and affective response(AR)to *** healthy,active young adult man(meanSD,[20.061.66]years;[22.232.76]kg/m2)performed either a low-volume CT(EG,n?9),or maintained a normal life(CG,n?9).The CT was composed of three resistance exercises followed by a high intensity-interval training(HIIT)on cycle ergometer performed twice a *** measures of the body composition,HGS,maximal oxygen consumption(V_O2max)and AR to exercise were taken at baseline and after training for ***,an ANOVA test of repeated measures and t-test paired samples were used with a p*** results showed that EG improved HGS(pre:[45.6711.84]kg ***:[52.4411.90]kg,p0.05),nevertheless the feeling scale was positive in all weeks and without significant differences between them(p>0.05).Lastly,for active young adults,the low-volume CT improved HGS,CRF and had a positive outcome in AR,with less volume and time spent than traditional exercise recommendations.

Several medical conditions can present as fever and rash in children,including infections,hypersensitivity reactions and immune-mediated diseases[1].Cryopyrin-associated periodic syndrome(CAPS)is a group of inherited autoinflammatory disorders caused by gain-of-function mutations in the NLRP3 gene(CIAS 1).CAPS encompass a spectrum of diseases including Muckle-Wells syndrome(MWS).The A439V mutation is considered a disease-causing mutation,although clinical phenotypes can be diverse[2].MWS is characterized by recurrent episodes of fever,urticarial rash,arthralgia/arthritis,and more rarely,oral ulcers,folliculitis,or erythema nodosum[3].

Uncertainty in sap flow of Brazilian mahogany determined by the heat ratio method

The tropical arboreal species Brazilian mahogany(Swietenia macrophylla) is very important economically and ecologically,for which understanding ecophysiological variables such as sap flow will improve understanding of the species and its *** paper aims to measure uncertainties(U) involved in the application of the heat ratio method for determining sap flow in Brazilian mahogany using sets of heating probes and thermometers installed on plants of 18 months of age,cultivated in Yellow Latosol,under a weighing lysimeter and located in a protected *** uncertainty in sap flow was calculated as the combination of uncertainty in the thermal diffusivity(U_(k)),conductive section(U_(Sc)) and corrected sap velocity(U_(Vc)).U_(k) had greater weight in determining the flow of sap in Brazilian mahogany,when compared to U_(Sc) and U_(Vc).The thermal diffusivity during the cycle,or period evaluated,must be adjusted to improve the accuracy of the heat ratio method because the sap flow overestimated transpiration by 15.0%.When soil water was optimal In addition,the vapor pressure deficit linearly and indirectly influenced the SF with a difference of 14.6%.

Effect of reverse dual rotation process on properties of friction stir welding of AA7075 to AISI304

The friction stir lap welding of AISI304 stainless steel to AA7075 aluminium alloy was investigated using the conventional friction stir welding (C-FSW) and the reverse dual rotation friction stir welding (DR-FSW) processes. In order to reduce the heat input, a dual rotation tool with a lower shoulder rotating speed was used. The results showed that both processes provide welds with excellent appearance and free of internal defects. The use of the DR-FSW process with the tool shoulder rotating reversely at low speed results in larger grain refinement in the nugget and less change in the microstructure of the aluminium alloy than using the C-FSW. The use of DR-FSW process at low speed of rotation allows to reduce the amount of intermetallic compounds in the welding interface, but does not prevent their formation. Although DR-FSW welding exhibits tensile strength superior to that achieved with the conventional process (C-FSW), both exhibit brittle behaviour with fracture at the weld interface.

The CASTOR-K Code,Recent Developments and Applications

The CASTOR-K code is a hybrid magnetohydrodynamic （MHD）-drift kinetic code developed for the study of MHD modes in the presence of energetic ion populations. It allows a fast assessment of the linear stability of the modes, as well as an accurate calculation of damping due to thermal species （Landau damping）. These capabilities make the code an invaluable tool for parametric studies and data analysis. In recent years, CASTOR-K has been mostly used to analyze JET data, including the identification of mechanisms involved in the expulsion of energetic ions from the plasma. However, in order to prepare the code to be used for a wider range of tokamaks including ITER, the code is being subject to a series of important improvements. These improvements aim not only to introduce new physics in the code but also to make it capable of exchanging data with other codes through its integration in modelling infrastructures. In this paper a description of the CASTOR-K code is presented, as well as a summary of the most important results obtained with this code and a description of the new improvements being implemented.

Crohn's disease environmental factors in the developing world: A case-control study in a statewide catchment area in Brazil

To identify environmental risk factors associated with the development of Crohn’s disease (CD) in order to re-assess the hygiene hypothesis. METHODSA hospital-based, case-control study was carried out with CD patients (n = 145) and controls (n = 163) representing a socioeconomically diverse statewide catchment area in Brazil. Controls were recruited from caregivers of patients seen in different outpatient clinics at the same hospital. A multi-item survey with 94 questions regarding family history of CD, perinatal and childhood circumstances, living conditions, tobacco use and familial socioeconomic status was carried out by interviewers. RESULTSOn the univariate analysis, predictive variables for CD included being male, under age of 40, a high education level, urban dweller, smaller family size, exposure to enteric pathogens and user of treated water (P < 0.005). On the multivariate analysis, variables significantly associated with CD were male gender (OR = 2.09), under age 40 (OR = 3.10), white (OR = 2.32), from a small family in childhood (OR = 2.34) and adulthood (OR = 3.02), absence of viral infections in childhood (OR = 2.23), exposure to enteric pathogens (OR = 2.41), having had an appendectomy (OR = 2.47) and prior or current smoker (OR = 2.83/1.12). CONCLUSIONMost variables supporting the “hygiene hypothesis” are associated with the development of CD but are not independent predictors of the diagnosis.

With this article we aim to propose an analytical alternative to what we could call the substitution and condemnation of the spectator as an element of the new technological apparatuses. Actually, what we see in many of the current reflections on new media is that while the spectator is being accused of ultimate passivity, he is also being mobilized to emancipated action as an empowered user. Through the critique of an online application available on Portuguese Radio Television （RTP）＇s website, the state-owned television network, called 0 Meu Telejornal1, we will try to demonstrate that we actually need to develop a spectator theory to critically understand the political position of the citizen within our changing contemporary media environment.

A Metapopulation Model with Patches Distributed in Two Geographical Scales

We propose a metapopulation model with two geographical scales. In a regional scale, the model describes the dynamics of a collection of habitats connected by migratory movements. In a local scale, we consider some granularity within each habitat, in the sense that each habitat is itself a collection of patches linked by dispersal. The whole ensemble can be seen as a metapopulation composed by local metapopulations. We analyze the synchronization of the model in the two geographical scales. We present an analytic criterion for synchronization where only the habitats in the regional scale evolve with the same dynamics. Through numerical simulations, we discuss the different synchronization modes. It depends on how the individuals are distributed in the local patches that compose a habitat after migration takes place in the regional scale.
