The thermal and velocity slips of boundary layer of Williamson nanofluid over a stretching sheet are studied *** model is used to explore the heat transfer phenomena caused by Brownian motion and *** similarity transformations,the governing equations are reduced to a set of nonlinear ordinary differential equations(ODEs).These equations are solved numerically by using Shooting *** effects of non-Newtonian Williamson parameter,velocity and thermal slip parameters,Prandtl number,Brownian parameter,Schmidt number,Lewis number,Brownian motion parameter,thermophoresis parameter on velocity,temperature and concentration fields are shown graphically and *** results found that the thickness of boundary layer decreases as the slip and thermal factor parameter ***,present results indicate that the nanofluid temperature and concentration are enhanced with a rise of Williamson *** Nusselt number is reduced with an increase of the Lewis and Prandtl numbers.

Across optics and photonics,excess intensity noise is often considered a ***,we show that excess noise in broadband supercontinuum and superluminescent diode light sources encodes each spectral channel with unique intensity fluctuations,which actually serve a useful ***,we report that excess noise correlations can both characterize the spectral resolution of spectrometers and enable cross-calibration of their wavelengths across a broad *** to previous methods that use broadband interferometry and narrow linewidth lasers to characterize and calibrate spectrometers,our approach is simple,comprehensive,and rapid enough to be deployed during spectrometer ***,we employ this approach to aid alignment and reduce the depth-dependent degradation of the sensitivity and axial resolution in a spectrometer-based optical coherence tomography(OCT)system,revealing a new outer retinal ***,we achieve a pixel-to-pixel correspondence between two otherwise disparate spectrometers,enabling a robust comparison of their respective ***,excess intensity noise has useful applications in optics and photonics.

Nucleos(t)ide analogs(NAs)are one of the first-line treatments for chronic hepatitis B(CHB)*** are highly efficient in suppressing viral replication but are associated with a low rate of hepatitis B surface antigen(HBsAg)seroclearance and a high risk of post-treatment virologic *** a result,the optimal timing of NA cessation remains unclear,and long-term treatment is often *** international guidelines suggest that NA can be discontinued in hepatitis B e antigen(HBeAg)-positive patients who achieve HBeAg seroconversion with undetectable hepatitis B virus(HBV)DNA levels,the recommendations for discontinuing NA treatment in HBeAg-negative patients remain ***,there is no consensus regarding in whom and when to restart treatment among patients with hepatitis relapse after stopping NA *** studies suggest that virologic markers such as HBsAg and hepatitis B core-related antigen(HBcrAg)titers may be useful to guide when to stop NAs in CHB,since both markers appear to correlate with intrahepatic covalently closed circular HBV DNA ***,additional studies are required to refine their use.

The nonparametric kernel estimation of probability density function (PDF) pro-vides a uniform and accurate estimate of flood frequency-magnitude ***, the kernel estimate has the disadvantage that the smoothing factor h is estimate empirically and is not locally adjusted, thus possibly resulting in deteri oration of density estimate when PDF is not smooth and is heavy-tailed. Such a problem can be alleviate by estimating the density of a transformed random vari able, and then taking the inverse transform. AIM: To investigate the association of serum glucocorticoid kinase gene-1(SGK-1) DNA variants with chronic central serous chorioretinopathy(CSC).METHODS: We enrolled 32 eyes of 32 patients who were diagnosed with chronic CSC and composed 32 normal eyes as a control group. Peripheral blood was used for DNA extraction and polymerase chain reaction amplification. SGK1 gene was sequenced by using Big Dye Terminator v3.1 cycle sequencing Kit(Applied Biosystems, Foster City, CA, USA). The SGK-1 gene and its variants were investigated in CSC patient group and control ***: We identified a new polymorphism M32 V in two person in the patient group [Minor allele frequency(MAF) =0.009] on the region of 1-60 amino acids. The rs1057293 was located in the encoder region of the SGK- 1 gene but not associated with CSC(P =0.68). An intrinsic rs1743966 is also not associated(P =0.28).CONCLUSION: The new polymorphism M32 V is located on the region of 1-60 amino acids which is necessary for localization to the mitochondria in CSC patient. This mutation is probably important for the energy metabolism and plays an important role in the cellular response to hyperosmotic stress and other stress stimuli. Both rs1057293 and rs1743966 are not associated with CSC.

Novel Farming Innovation for High Production of Black Pepper （Piper nigrum L.） Planting Materials

In accordance to National Commodity Policy (2011-2020), Malaysian government targets at expending the pepper cultivated area from the current 16,331 ha to 20,110 ha by year 2020. Based on a planting density of 2,000 vines/ha, there will be an urgent need of 7.588 million cuttings for the next five years in order to achieve this target. However, shortages of planting materials, low productivity and occurrence of pests and diseases remain as the major challenge of pepper industry nowadays. Therefore, a novel farming innovation, namely W-configuration cultivation method has been developed to ensure high production of planting materials for large-scale pepper cultivation and at the same time to maximize land use in pepper farm. A field evaluation was conducted to compare the cutting production among W-configuration, V-configuration and traditional cultivation method. W-configuration recorded the highest mean number of pepper cuttings produced with 11.97 cuttings per vine in every pruning cycle, or equivalent to 71% of increment as compared to 7.00 cuttings per vine produced from the traditional planting method. Meanwhile, V-configuration produced 8.91 of mean cuttings, which are significantly lower than those produced by W-configuration method and yet comparable to traditional method. Based on return on investment (ROI) analysis, implementation of W-configuration cultivation method was able to achieve 35% of return per cycle of planting within two years for the first cycle and upsurged to approximately 355% for the subsequence cycle. Furthermore, this novel innovation also out-yielded traditional planting method by 75.27% for the first and second year of green berry production. The ROI analysis proved the feasibility of this newly developed cultivation method to create potential new income for pepper smallholders in Malaysia, who traditionally cultivate pepper for its peppercorn production. This study also enlightened the thorough planting procedures of W-configuration

In this paper, we present an analysis of energy and exergy utilization in the residential sector of Cameroon by considering the sectoral energy and exergy flows for the years of 2001-2010. Exergy analysis of Cameroon residential sector utilisation indicates a less efficient picture than that obtained by the energy analysis. Cooking stands out as the most inefficient end use in the Cameroon’s residential sector. In 2010, the energy and exergy efficiency are determined and were respectively 58.74% and 22.63%. Energy and exergy flows diagrams for the overall efficiencies of Cameroon residential sector are illustrated and a comparison with the residential sector of other countries is also done. To carry out this study, a survey of 250 households was conducted and the sharing of the end uses of energy was done and data were gathered.

利用自由空间太赫兹电光取样方法,测量了在高电场下,GaAs中受飞秒激光脉冲激发的电子所辐射出的太赫兹电磁波,发现从样品中辐射出的和电子加速度成正比的太赫兹电磁波电场强度ETHz(t),表现出双极特性.通过分析GaAs中辐射出的太赫兹电磁波的傅里叶变换谱,首次实验上得到在阶跃电场下的GaAs的电子太赫兹功耗谱.研究发现,当电场小于50kV/cm时,由电子谷间散射引起的负功耗(即增益)的截止频率νc,随着电场的增大而增大;当电场大于50kV/cm时,负功耗的截止频率νc开始在750GHz(10K)附近饱和.

中国自从实行改革开放以来,经济快速增长。中国经济的发展、国际地位的提高,带来的是汉语实用价值的提升,在世界范围内出现了“汉语热”。印尼的华文教育现状可以用“古木逢春”来形容。从三宝垄的师资情况来看,年轻教师的汉语语音比较准,但是汉语综合能力比较低,文化知识少,教学经验不足。本文以三宝垄南洋三语国民学校汉语口语课堂教学作为研究对象,是因为南洋三语国民学校作为三宝垄市唯一的三语学校,也是唯一很重视汉语的学校,在汉语口语教学中仍然存在着一些问题,如开设了汉语口语课,大部分学生还是无法使用汉语进行简单的交流,而且学生在课堂上开口率也低。针对这一些问题,汉语教师在使用的教学方法和技巧方面还有待改善。本人以三宝垄市的汉语教学情况作为本文的调查对象,用问卷调查法、访谈法、文献研究法等研究方法对三宝垄市的汉语教学现状进行调查,以全面了解三宝垄市的汉语教学情况。本文的创新之处是对三宝垄南洋三语国民学校进行较完整的汉语口语课堂教学的研究。身为三宝垄市唯一很重视汉语的学校的汉语教师,笔者希望通过这一项研究,让该校的汉语教师更好地了解每一个不同阶段的小学生在汉语口语课堂教学中存在的问题,也针对不同阶段的小学生的特点提出一些汉语口语教学的建议,从而提高学生的口语能力,也提高学生的开口率。本文根据学生的学习情况探索最适合他们学习的教学方法,进行多样化的课堂教学,完善三宝垄南洋三语国民学校的汉语教师汉语口语教学策略,因此也可以提高学生学习汉语口语的效率。
