The paper reports the fabrication of Zn-doped TiO_2 nanotubes(Zn-TONT)/ZnO nanoflakes heterostructure for the first time,which shows improved performance as a photoanode in dye-sensitized solar cell(DSSC).The layered structure of this novel nanoporous structure has been analyzed unambiguously by Rutherford backscattering spectroscopy,scanning electron microscopy,and X-ray *** cell using the heterostructure as photoanode manifests an enhancement of about an order in the magnitude of the short circuit current and a seven-fold increase in efficiency,over pure TiO_2 *** further reveal that the Zn-TONT is preferentially oriented in [001] direction and there is a Ti metal-depleted interface layer which leads to better band alignment in DSSC.

Heavy metal polluted water threatens the integrity of *** use of agricultural waste as adsorbent becomes popular due to its biodegradability and ***,limited research works has been done to process agricultural waste for heavy metal adsorption *** objective of this study is to propose a new approach to treat banana peel using ZnCl_(2) prior to alkali and acid treatment and explore the potential of dragon fruit peels as the adsorbent for Cu^(2+)*** adsorption isotherm was adopted to identify the adsorption mechanism and four statistical parameters were calculated for model verification *** experiment was conducted by dispersing ZnCl_(2) treated and untreated adsorbents into Cu^(2+) *** showed that ZnCl_(2) treated adsorbents performed better in terms of Cu^(2+) removal compared with untreated adsorbents due to higher surface area for Cu^(2+) *** treated banana peel(Act.-B)performed approximately 30%better than the treated dragon fruit peel(Act.-D)due to the presence of hydroxyl and carboxyl *** equilibrium adsorptive capacity of Act.-B was 1872.8 mg Cu^(2+)/g and the experimental data fitted Freundlich isotherm well with R^(2)=0.9978,0.0161 of residual sum of error(SSE),0.0068 of χ^(2),and 0.0567 of root mean square error(RMSE)*** suggests non⁃linear adsorption and multilayer adsorption on heterogenous ***,it is recommended to further improve the surface properties of Act.-B by steam pyrolysis and surface modification.

Asia and its Hindu kush Himalayan(HkH)region is particularly vulnerable to environmental change,especially climate and land use changes further influenced by rapid population growth,high level of poverty and unsustainable *** has been a hotspot of dengue fever and chikungunya mainly due to its dense human population,unplanned urbanization and *** an urban cycle,dengue virus(DENV)and chikungunya virus(CHIkV)are transmitted by Aedes aegypti and *** mosquitoes which are also competent vectors of Zika virus(ZIkV).Over the last decade,DENV and CHIkV transmissions by *** have extended to the Himalayan countries of Bhutan and Nepal and ZIkV could follow in the footsteps of these viruses in the HkH *** already established distribution of human-biting Aedes mosquito vectors and a naïve population with lack of immunity against ZIkV places the HkH region at a higher risk of *** of the countries in the HkH region have already reported ZIkV *** have documented an increasing threat of ZIkV in Asia and its HkH region because of the high abundance and wide distribution of human-biting mosquito vectors,climate change,poverty,report of indigenous cases in the region,increasing numbers of imported cases and a naïve population with lack of immunity against *** outbreak anywhere is potentially a threat ***,in order to ensure international health security,all efforts to prevent,detect,and respond to ZIkV ought to be intensified now in Asia and its HkH *** prepare for possible ZIkV outbreaks,Asia and the HkH region can also learn from the success stories and strategies adopted by other regions and countries in preventing ZIkV and associated *** future control strategies for DENV,CHIkV and ZIkV should be considered in tandem with the threat to human well-being that is posed by other emerging and re-emerging vector-borne and zoonotic diseases,and by the continuing urgent need to strengthen public

Objective:The objective of this study was to assess the test–retest reliability and inter-rater agreement between the traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)pulse diagnosis between two Indian TCM ***:A total of 300 participants were evaluated for their bilateral pulse based on TCM independently by two investigators with similar years of experience but who graduated from different medical *** investigators who were blinded diagnosed the participants as per TCM based on the depth,rate,and strength of their ***αand weighted kappa were used for assessing the reliability and ***:The data of all the 300 participants were included in the *** test–retest reliability computed using Cronbach's alpha indicated high reliability between the investigators(α=0.963).There were a total of 37 different types of diagnoses identified by both *** investigators diagnoses matched for 116 participants out of 300 participants;whereas 184 cases were not matched between the *** inter-rater agreement for the TCM diagnosis tested by weighted kappa did not returned any significant agreement(kappa=0.370).Discussion:The present study shows higher reliability between the pulse diagnoses between the ***,the inter-rater agreement for TCM diagnosis based on pulse diagnosis was not significant probably due to the variation in subjective *** calls for the standardization of training in TCM diagnostic methods among *** studies should include the differences in training,medical education,and experience among the practitioners while determining the reliability of pulse diagnosis.

In this article,we present a nanoelectromechanical system(NEMS)designed to detect changes in the Casimir *** Casimir effect is a result of the appearance of quantum fluctuations in an electromagnetic *** experiments have used nano-or microscale parallel plate capacitors to detect the Casimir force by measuring the small attractive force these fluctuations exert between the two *** this new set of experiments,we aim to directly detect the shifts in the Casimir energy in a vacuum due to the presence of the metallic parallel plates,one of which is a superconductor.A change in the Casimir energy of this configuration is predicted to shift the superconducting transition temperature(T_(c))because of the interaction between it and the superconducting condensation *** our experiment,we take a superconducting film,carefully measure its transition temperature,bring a conducting plate close to the film,create a Casimir cavity,and then measure the transition temperature *** expected shifts are smaller than the normal shifts one sees in cycling superconducting films to cryogenic temperatures,so using a NEMS resonator in situ is the only practical way to obtain accurate,reproducible *** a thin Pb film and opposing Au surface,we observe no shift in T_(c)>12µk down to a minimum spacing of~70 nm at zero applied magnetic field.

Lepidolite pegmatite occurs as intrusive within biotite gneiss and amphibolite of Assam Meghalaya Gneissic Complex (AMGC) or Precambrian Gneissic Complex in the Dhubri district, Assam. AMGC is the north western extension of the Proterozoic rocks of Meghalaya Plateau or Shillong plateau. In the field it occurs as small to large veins and scattered boulders. Lepidolite pegmatite is later intruded by non lepidolite pegmatite. Pegmatites are medium to coarse grained with quartz and k-feldspar. It also contains lepidolite, which occurs in the form of flakes and clusters varying from pink to purple in colour. Petrography of lepidolite pegmatite reveals lepidolite as major constituents with quartz, k-feldspar and muscovite as minor constituents. XRD analysis reveals lepidolite (muscovite) is major mineral phase with kaliophilite in minor amount. Geochemically, they are calc-alkaline to high calc-alkaline and per-aluminous in nature. On the basis of Alumina Saturation Index (ASI), these pegmatites resemble Lithium-Cesium-Tantalum (LCT) family and compositional affinity with S-type granites of orogenic environments. Trace element compositions (Rb, Sr, Ba) indicate crystal fractionations, variable degrees of fractionation, highly evolved nature of pegmatite’s and strongly differentiated granites protoliths as source. The different tectonic discrimination diagrams indicate S-type and I-type melt for pegmatite derivations. Therefore, both the studied pegmatites could be an evolved variety of granitic rocks that originated from the same magma. The REE is relatively low to moderate.
