A novel diurnal and seasonal va.i.tion analysis of BTEX in Bengaluru urban area

in the urban atmosphere of Bengaluru, va.i.us vola.i.e orga.i. compounds(VOCs), particularly Benzene,Toluene, Ethylbenzene, and Xylene(BTEX), have shown an increa.i.g trend in concentra.i.n. The present research was conducted during summer and monsoon seasons, focusing on Kadubeesanahalli, a high-traffic area within the Bengaluru metropolitan City. Hourly sample data was collected using a BTEX analyzer(model GC955-600) and subsequently transformed into daily, monthly, and seasonal values. The study revealed distinct patterns in benzene concentra.i.ns. Benzene levels were lowest during the early morning hours, specifically from 1:00 *** 7:00 a.m.. Concentra.i.ns then increased from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. and again from 4:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.,corresponding to the morning and evening peak traffic hours. However, between 10:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., the concentra.i.n decreased due to reduced traffic levels. These diurnal va.i.tions in benzene concentra.i.n are influenced by meteorological parameters. Compa.i.g the two seasons, higher concentra.i.ns of Benzene, EthylBenzene, and mP-xylene were observed during the summer season. This increase is attributed to the elevated temperatures during summer, which promote the vaporiza.i.n of BTEX compounds. Conversely, lower BTEX concentra.i.ns were recorded during the monsoon season due to the wet deposition process. The observed positive correla.i.n(r > 0.5) am.ng BTEX parameters strongly suggests a common source, most likely origina.i.g from vehicular emissions.

mnWO_(4)/WO_(3) p-n heterojunction films were fabricated using a one-step method consisting of the plasma electrolytic oxida.i.n(PEO)of tita.i.m in homogeneous electrolytes containing paratungstate ions and stable watersoluble EDTA-chelated *** influences of the forma.i.n current density and W:mn molar ra.i. of the electrolyte,which was va.i.d from 1:2 to 2:1,on the composition,morphology,and optical and photocatalytic properties of the resulting coa.i.gs were studied.X-ray diffraction analysis,scanning electron microscopy,energy dispersive X-ray analysis,Ram.n spectroscopy,and ultra.i.let diffuse reflectance spectroscopy were used to characterize the formed *** of the W:mn ra.i. of the electrolyte,the coa.i.gs contained crystalline t-WO_(3) and m-mnWO_(4).Depending on the forma.i.n conditions,the optical band gap energies of the composites va.i.d from 2.63 to 3.01 *** largest absorption red shift and lowest band gap energy were observed in the film composite formed in an electrolyte with W:mn=2:1,at a current density of 0.2 A cm^(−2).Composites obtained in electrolytes with W:mn ra.i.s of 2:1 and 1:1 exhibited photocatalytic activity in the degrada.i.n of rhoda.i.e C and methyl orange dyes in the presence of 10 mmol L^(–1) H2O_(2) under ultra.i.let and visible light *** role of hydrogen peroxide in this dye degrada.i.n on PEO-coated composites under light irra.i.tion is discussed.

Effects of site prepara.i.n methods on soil physical properties and outplanting success of coniferous seedlings in boreal forests

This study assessed the effect of patch sca.i.ica.i.n and mounding on the physical properties of the root layer and the success of tree planting in va.i.us types of *** study was conducted on 12 forest sites in taiga forests of the European part of Russia.A total of 54 plots were set up to assess seedling survival;root collar diameter,height,and heigh increment were measured for 240 seedlings to assess *** the rooting layer,240 soil samples were taken to determine physical *** study showed that soil treatment methods had no effect on bulk density and total porosity in Cla.i.a ***,reduced soil moisture was noted,particularly in mounds,resulting in increased *** myrtillus sites,there were increased bulk density,reduced soil moisture,and total porosity in the *** treatment in Polytrichum sites resulted in reduced soil moisture and increased aera.i.n *** the myrtillus and Polytrichum sites,patch sca.i.ica.i.n had no effects on physical *** Polytrichum sites,survival rates,heights,and heigh increments of bareroot norway spruce seedlings in mounds were higher than in patches;however,the same did not apply to *** Cla.i.a and myrtillus sites,there was no difference in growth for bareroot and containerised seedlings with different soil *** conditions and soil types should be considered when applying different soil treatment methods to ensure high survival rates and successful seedling growth.

The European rabbit Oryctolagus cuniculus is an exotic herbivorous mammal undergoing an active phase of geographical expansion in the a.i. ecosystems of *** Adaptive Flexibility Hypothesis states that popula.i.ns at the range edge(new popula.i.ns)will exhibit greater fexibility in the use of resources compared with popula.i.ns located in the range core(older popula.i.ns).The objective of this work was to compare the rabbit’s use of spa.i.l and trophic resources in rela.i.n to the establishment time of their *** sampling was carried out for 2 years(2017 and 2018)in sites with different establishment times for rabbit *** sampling stra.i.ed by type of ha.i.at was applied using 115 fxed strip transects of 1,000 m^(2) laid out across the study *** rabbit signs were recorded in each transect,and environmental and anthropic va.i.bles were *** results show that the individuals from the range edge are more selective in the use of ha.i.at than those from the range *** the microha.i.at level,we observed a pattern in the particular components of ha.i.at use by rabbits mainly linked to food availa.i.ity and proximity to *** a trophic perspective,rabbits could show fexible adjustment to novel conditions and environments in the range *** va.i.bility in resource use by the European rabbit confrms its ecological fexibility,pivotal for their advance toward new environments in Argentina.

Effective calcium (Ca) management is crucial for optimizing oil palm cultiva.i.n and enhancing crop yield. This study aimed to gain insights into the dyna.i.s of Ca concentra.i.n, accumula.i.n, exporta.i.n, immobiliza.i.n, and recycling in va.i.us oil palm organs rela.i.e to plant age. The experiment was conducted at the Agropalma enterprise site in the northeastern region of Pará state, Bra.i., evalua.i.g seven plant age treatments: 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, and 8 years old. Employing a completely randomized design with four replica.i.ns. The results demonstrated an age-related increase in Ca concentra.i.n in petioles, rachis, arrows, male inflorescences, peduncles, and fruits. Furthermore, Ca accumula.i.n exhibited an upward trend in all organs with progressing plant age. notably, the study revealed an enhanced Ca use efficiency across all plant organs in correla.i.n with the age of oil palm cultiva.i.n. These findings underscore the dyna.i. nutritional demands of oil palm, influencing Ca.i.mobiliza.i.n, cycling, and export throughout its developmental stages. © 2024 the Oil Crop Research institute, Chinese Academy of Agriculture sciences

Abstract:This paper addresses the problem of improving the optimal value of the ma.i.um Capa.i.y Path(mCP)through expansion in a flexible network,and minimizing the involved *** only condition applied to the cost functions is to be non-decrea.i.g *** is a non-restrictive condition,reflecting the rea.i.y in practice,and is considered for the first time in the ***,the total cost of expansion is a combina.i.n of max-type cost(e.g.,for supervision)and sum-type cost(*** building infrastructures,price of materials,price of labor,etc.).For this purpose,two types of strategies are combined:(l)increa.i.g the capa.i.y of the existing arcs,and(l)adding potential new *** different problems are introduced and *** the problems have immediate applica.i.ns in internet routing *** first one is to extend the network,so that the capa.i.y of an mcP in the modified network becomes equal to a prescribed value,therefore the cost of modifica.i.ns is minimized.A strongly polynomial-time algorithm is deduced to solve this *** second problem is a network expansion under a budget constraint,so that the capa.i.y of an mcP is ma.i.ized.A weakly polynomial-time algorithm is presented to deal with *** the special case when all the costs are linear,a meggido's parametric search technique is used to develop an algorithm for solving the problem in strongly polynomial *** new approach has a time complexity of O(n^(4)),which is better than the time complexity of O(n4 log(n)of the previously known method from literature.

The Wireless sensor network(Wsn)is a network that is constructed in regions that are inaccessible to human *** widespread deployment of wireless micro sensors will make it possible to conduct accurate environmental monitoring for a use in both civil and military *** make use of these data to monitor and keep track of the physical data of the surrounding environment in order to ensure the sustaina.i.ity of the *** data have to be picked up by the sensor,and then sent to the sink node where they may be *** nodes of the Wsns are powered by batteries,therefore they eventually run out of *** energy restriction has an effect on the network life span and environmental *** objective of this study is to further improve the Engroove Leach(EL)protocol’s energy efficiency so that the network can operate for a very long time while consuming the least amount of *** lifespan of Wsns is being extended often using clustering and routing *** meta.i.spired Hawks Fragment Optimiza.i.n(miHFO)system,which is based on passive clustering,is used in this study to do *** cluster head is chosen based on the nodes’residual energy,distance to neighbors,distance to base sta.i.n,node degree,and node *** on distance,residual energy,and node degree,an algorithm known as Heuristic Wing Antfly Optimiza.i.n(HWAFO)selects the optimum path between the cluster head and Base sta.i.n(Bs).They exa.i.e the number of nodes that are active,their energy consumption,and the number of data packets that the Bs *** overall experimenta.i.n is carried out under the mATLAB *** the analysis,it has been discovered that the suggested approach yields noticeably superior outcomes in terms of throughput,packet delivery and drop ra.i.,and average energy consumption.
