Axonal regeneration following surgical nerve repair is slow and often incomplete,resulting in poor functional recovery which sometimes contributes to lifelong ***,there are no FDA-approved therapies available to promote nerve *** accelerates axonal regeneration,but systemic side effects presently outweigh its potential benefits for peripheral nerve *** authors describe herein a biodegradable polyurethane-based drug delivery system for the sustained local release of tacrolimus at the nerve repair site,with suitable properties for scalable production and clinical application,aiming to promote nerve regeneration and functional recovery with minimal systemic drug *** is encapsulated into co-axially electrospun polycarbonate-urethane nanofibers to generate an implantable nerve wrap that releases therapeutic doses of bioactive tacrolimus over 31 *** and drug loading are adjustable for applications in small and large caliber nerves,and the wrap degrades within 120 days into biocompatible *** released from the nerve wrap promotes axon elongation in vitro and accelerates nerve regeneration and functional recovery in preclinical nerve repair models while off-target systemic drug exposure is reduced by 80%compared with systemic *** its surgical suitability and preclinical efficacy and safety,this system may provide a readily translatable approach to support axonal regeneration and recovery in patients undergoing nerve surgery.

In this study,plasma density measurements were performed near the plume region of the remote plasma source (RPS) in Ar/NF3 gas mixtures using a microwave cutoff *** measured plasma density is in the range of 1010-1011 cm-3 in the discharge conditions with RPS powers of 2-4 kW and gas pressures of 0.87-4 *** plasma density decreased with increasing gas pressures and RPS powers under various Ar/NF3 mixing *** decrease in the plasma density measured at the fixed measurement position (plume region) can be understood by the reduction of the electron energy relaxation length with increases in the gas pressures and mixing ratio of NF3/(Ar/NF3).We also performed downstream etching of silicon and silicon oxide films in this *** etch rate of the silicon films significantly increases while the silicon oxide is slightly etched with the gas pressures and *** was also found that the etch rate strongly depends on the wafer position on the processing chamber electrode,and that the etch selectivity reached 96-131 in the discharge conditions of RF powers (3730-4180 W) and gas pressures (3.6-4 Torr).

In density-based topological design, one expects that the final result consists of elements either black （solid material） or white （void）, without any grey areas. Moreover, one also expects that the optimal topology can be obtained by starting from any initial topology configuration. An improved structural topological optimization method for multidisplacement constraints is proposed in this paper. In the proposed method, the whole optimization process is divided into two optimization adjustment phases and a phase transferring step. Firstly, an optimization model is built to deal with the varied displacement limits, design space adjustments, and reasonable relations between the element stiffness matrix and mass and its element topology variable. Secondly, a procedure is proposed to solve the optimization problem formulated in the first optimization adjustment phase, by starting with a small design space and advancing to a larger deign space. The design space adjustments are automatic when the design domain needs expansions, in which the convergence of the proposed method will not be affected. The final topology obtained by the proposed procedure in the first optimization phase, can approach to the vicinity of the optimum topology. Then, a heuristic algorithm is given to improve the efficiency and make the designed structural topology black/white in both the phase transferring step and the second optimization adjustment phase. And the optimum topology can finally be obtained by the second phase optimization adjustments. Two examples are presented to show that the topologies obtained by the proposed method are of very good 0/1 design distribution property, and the computational efficiency is enhanced by reducing the element number of the design structural finite model during two optimization adjustment phases. And the examples also show that this method is robust and practicable.

AIM:To investigate the value of elevated drain amylase concentrations for detecting anastomotic leakage(AL) after minimally invasive Ivor-Lewis esophagectomy(MIILE).METhODS:This was a retrospective analysis of prospectively collected data in two hospitals in the Netherlands. Consecutive patients undergoing MI-ILE were included. A jackson-Pratt drain next to the dorsal side of the anastomosis and bilateral chest drains were placed at the end of the thoracoscopic procedure. Amylase levels in drain fluid were determined in all patients during at least the first four postoperative days. Contrast computed tomography scans and/or endoscopic imaging were performed in cases of a clinically suspected AL. Anastomotic leakage was defined as any sign of leakage of the esophago-gastric anastomosis on endoscopy,re-operation,radiographic investigations,post mortal examination or when gastro-intestinal contents were found in drain fluid. Receiver operator characteristic curves were used to determine the cut-off values. Sensitivity,specificity,positive predictive value,negative predictive value,risk ratio and overall test accuracy were calculated for elevated drain amylase ***:A t o t a l o f 8 9 p a t ie n t s w e re in c lu d e d between March 2013 and August 2014. No differences in group characteristics were observed between patients with and without AL,except for age. Patients with AL were older than were patients without AL(P = 0.01). One patient(1.1%) without AL died within 30 d after surgery due to pneumonia and acute respiratory distress syndrome. Anastomotic leakage that required any intervention occurred in 15 patients(16.9%). Patients with proven anastomotic leakage had higher drain amylase levels than patients without anastomotic leakage [median 384 IU/L(IQR 34-6263) vs median 37 IU/L(IQR 26-66),P = 0.003]. A graft copolymer of polyacrylonitrile （PAN） with sodium salt of partially carboxymethylated tamarind kernel powder （Na-PCMTKP, DS ^-= 0.15） was synthesized by using ceric ammonium nitrate （CAN） as a redox initiator in an aqueous medium. The optimum reaction conditions for affording maximum percentage of grafting were established by successively varying reaction conditions such as concentrations of nitric acid, CAN, monomer （AN） as well as reaction time, temperature and amount of substrate. The influence of these reaction conditions on the grafting yields was discussed. The kinetic scheme of free radical graft copolymerization was proposed and the experimental results were found to agree very well with the proposed kinetic scheme. The graft copolymer （Na-PCMTKP-g-PAN, percentage of grafting G = 413.76% and percentage of grafting efficiency GE = 96.48%） sample synthesized under the established optimized reaction conditions was hydrolyzed by 0.7 mol-L l NaOh solution at 90-95 ℃ to yield the superabsorbent hydrogel, h-Na-PCMTKP-g-PAN. The swelling behavior of the hydrogel was studied by carrying out its absorbency measurements in low conductivity water, 0.15 mol·L^-1 salt （NaCl, CaCl2 and AlCl3） solutions and simulated urine （SU） solution at different timings. FTIR, TGA and SEM techniques were used to characterize the products.

We analyzed the relationship between several basic parameters describing supermassive black holes such as jet power,black hole spin,accretion disk magnetic field,black hole mass,*** found that there is a general correlation between these parameters,such as jet power is significantly positively correlated with black hole spin,while black hole mass is significantly negatively correlated with black hole *** apprehend these relationships,we consider the Blandford–Znajek model to be superior to the Blandford–Payne *** is also found that the intrinsic gamma luminosity of the FSRQs has a positive correlation with the accretion disk magnetic field,while the intrinsic gamma luminosity of the BL Lacs has a negative correlation with the accretion disk magnetic field.A feedback effect may exist between accretion disk accretion rate and magnetic field,which may be the key to the evolution between BL Lacs and *** is no significant difference in the jet power and jet generation efficiency of FSRQs and BL Lacs,which suggests that the jets are generated by the same *** contribution rate of accretion rate to jet generation efficiency is high,while the contribution rate of accretion rate to jet power is very low.

A power management unit （PMU） chip supplying dual panel supply voltage, which has a low electro-magnetic interference （EMI） characteristic and is favorable for miniaturization, is designed. A two-phase charge pump circuit using external pumping capacitor increases its pumping current and works out the charge-loss problem by using bulk-potential biasing circuit. A low-power start-up circuit is also proposed to reduce the power consumption of the band-gap reference voltage generator. And the ring oscillator used in the ELVSS power circuit is designed with logic devices by supplying the logic power supply to reduce the layout area. The PMU chip is designed with MagnaChip＇s 0.25 μ high-voltage process. The driving currents of ELVDD and ELVSS are more than 50 mA when a SPICE simulation is done.

The reverse dual-rotation friction stir welding(RDR-FSW) has the capability to adjust the heat generation because of the separately designed tool shoulder and tool *** welding torque exerted on the workpiece by the reversely rotating shoulder is opposite to that exerted by the rotating tool pin,so the total welding torque is reduced,which is beneficial to reducing the clamping requirement of *** the present paper,a RDR-FSW joint was welded in a condition similar to the optimal welding condition of conventional FSW,and microstructures in various zones were investigated by comparison,aiming to highlight effects of the reversely rotating assisted *** to the heat conduction of the middle cylinder and the bottom end cover on which the assisted shoulder was machined,the thermal effect of RDR-FSW was smaller than that of the conventional ***,the effect of assisted shoulder on the plastic flow or deformation of material or was constrained in a thin layer near the weld top surface,and thus the flow of material especially along the thickness direction was clearly decreased in the *** the heat-affected zone(hAZ),the precipitate coarsening was the main evolution and was completed through the dissolution of small precipitates and the continuous growth of large *** contrast,the dissolution degree of precipitates increased significantly in the thermomechanically affected zone(TMAZ),and a small amount of original meta-stable precipitates transformed to block-shaped stable *** evolutions in the shoulder affected zone(SAZ)and the weld nugget zone were similar,*** majority of original meta-stable precipitates dissolved into the matrix and the remainder transformed to stable precipitates,though the dissolution degree was greater in the *** with the conventional FSW joint,the coarsening degrees of precipitates in the hAZ and TMAZ of RDR-FSW joint were much smaller,as well as the dissolution degrees of p
