BACKGROUND Life-long removal of gluten from the diet is currently the only way to manage celiac disease(CeD). Until now, no objective test has proven useful to objectively detect ingested gluten in clinical practice. Recently, tests that determine consumption of gluten by assessing excretion of gluten immunogenic peptides(GIP) in stool and urine have been developed. Their utility, in comparison with conventional dietary and analytical follow-up strategies, has not been fully *** To assess the performance of enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA) and point-of-care tests(PoCTs) for GIP excretion in CeD patients on gluten-free diet(GFD).METHODS We conducted an observational, prospective, cross-sectional study in patients following a GFD for at least two years. Using the Gastrointestinal Symptom Rating Scale questionnaire, patients were classified at enrollment as asymptomatic or symptomatic. Gluten consumption was assessed twice by 3-d dietary recall and GIP excretion(by ELISA in stool and PoCTs(commercial kits for stool and urine) in two consecutive samples. These samples and dietary reports were obtained 10 day apart one from the other. Patients were encouraged to follow their usual GFD during the study *** Forty-four patients were enrolled, of which 19(43.2%) were symptomatic despite being on a GFD. Overall, 83 sets of stool and/or urine samples were *** out of 44 patients(25.0%) had at least one positive GIP test. The occurrence of at least one positive test was 32% in asymptomatic patients compared with 15.8% in symptomatic patients. GIP was concordant with dietary reports in 65.9% of cases(Cohen′s kappa: 0.317). PoCT detected dietary indiscretions. 在大豆-玉米轮作生产过程中,玉米杂苗会与大豆苗竞争水和肥料,而且很容易遮住大豆苗,影响害虫(如玉米根虫)的防控,降低大豆品质。因此,在大豆幼苗期及时检测出玉米杂苗并对其进行处理非常重要。传统的人工检测方法主观性强、效率低,传感器和算法的发展为自动检测玉米杂苗提供了更好的解决方案。本研究在温室环境下模仿田间条件,待玉米和大豆发芽后,连续5天用因特尔RealSense D435相机采集彩色图像,并人工裁剪幼苗图像区域,在此基础上对图像进行分割和去噪。在采集图像形状、色彩和纹理特征值后,对所采集的特征值进行权重分析,保留前10种重要的特征值导入基于特征的机器学习算法中进行模型训练和预测。预测结果表明,支持向量机模型(SvM)、神经网络(NN)和随机森林(RF)的预测精度分别为85.3%,81.5%和82.6%。将数据集导入GoogLeNet和vGG-16两种深度学习模型进行训练,预测精度分别为96.0%和96.2%。vGG-16模型在区分大豆幼苗和玉米杂苗中有较好的表现,彩色图像和vGG-16模型组成的系统可以自动检测大豆生长过程中玉米杂苗的情况,为农民提供准确的信息,帮助其进行生产决策和田间管理。

Rapid HPLC Method for Monitoring Relevant Residues of Pharmaceuticals Products in Environmental Samples

This work presents a multi-residue analytical method based on solid phase extraction (SPE) followed by high-performance liquid chromatographic (HPLC) with diode array (DAD) detection for the simultaneous determination of a group of pharmaceutical products that include ten antidepressants and three anticanceri- genic in environmental samples (water and soil). Baseline separation of the studied compounds was obtained on an ultrabase C18 (4.6 mm i.d. × 150 mm, 5 μm particle) column using acetonitrile:phosphate buffer pH 2.5 (35:65 v/v) as mobile phase with a flow rate of 1.5 mL/min. Different aspects including linearity, accuracy, precision and detection and quantification limits were examined in order to validate the proposed method. Detection limits between 1 and 50 ng/mL were obtained for all the target compounds. This method was ap- plied to the analysis of environmental samples as waters and soils of different precedence. Prior, the HPLC determination the samples were purified and enriched using SPE or liquid-liquid extraction (LLE) of the tar- get compounds.

Safety and Efficacy of Oral Mirodenafil in Mexican with Erectile Dysfunction

Erectile dysfunction is treated with 5-phospodiesterase inhibitors as Mirodenafil, which has shown its efficacy and safety in Koreans, however;no information in other populations is available. An open clinical trial study was designed to evaluate the efficacy and safety in real life of a fixed-dose of Mirodenafil in Mexican patients with erectile dysfunction. Forty-seven male patients received a 100 mg tablet of Mirodenafil, during 12 weeks. Primary outcome efficacy measure was the percentage of male patients with successful intercourse. Secondary outcomes measures included patient satisfaction, mood and self-esteem level. Safety assessments included laboratory tests, vital signs, physical examination, 12-lead electrocardiogram recordings, and incidence of adverse events by patients. Oral administration of Mirodenafil improved in an 80% - 90% the number of successful intercourses from 7 to 84 days of treatment. Moreover, patients reported a significant increment in their sexual satisfaction, mood and self-esteem. Mirodenafil treatment did not modify vital signs nor anthropometric parameters during 84 days. Mild headache was the most frequent adverse event (17.0%) and there were no severe adverse events during pharmacological treatment. Data suggest that oral Mirodenafil is safety, well tolerated and effective in the Mexican population with erectile dysfunction.

The identification of jets originating from quarks and gluons,often referred to as quark/gluon tagging,plays an important role in various analyses performed at the Large Hadron Collider,as Standard Model measurements and searches for new particles decaying to quarks often rely on suppressing a large gluon-induced *** paper describes the measurement of the efficiencies of quark/gluon taggers developed within the ATLAS Collaboration,using √s=13 Tev proton–proton collision data with an integrated luminosity of 140 fb^(-1) collected by the ATLAS *** taggers with high performances in rejecting jets from gluon over jets from quarks are studied:one tagger is based on requirements on the number of inner-detector tracks associated with the jet,and the other combines several jet substructure observables using a boosted decision tree.A method is established to determine the quark/gluon fraction in data,by using quark/gluon-enriched subsamples defined by the jet *** in tagging efficiency between data and simulation are provided for jets with transverse momentum between 500 Gev and 2 Tev and for multiple tagger working points.

Organochlorine Pesticides in Infant Milk Formulas Marketed in the South of Mexico City

The nature of organochlorine pesticides (OCP) and their physical-chemical properties exert immediate action of control on live systems, which has justified their use in agricultural practices. Their long life makes them a persistent ecological aggressor and biomagnifier. They reach foods by biotic and abiotic means, and are absorbed and accumulate in adipose tissue. In lactation processes, they are excreted in milk through the mobilization of fats. Diverse studies have identified them as neurotoxic, affecting reproductive processes, altering the immunological response and act as endocrine disruptors. An analysis was made of the content of organochlorine pesticides in twenty-one samples of infant milk formulas marketed in the south of Mexico City in 2010. The determinations were made following the protocols of the International Dairy Federation, by means of gas chromatography with electron capture detector, and the majority presence was found of α-HCH (100%), β-HCH (95.2%), γ-HCH (90.5%), aldrin (85.7%), heptachlor (80.9%) and heptachlor epoxide (80.9%) with mean values of 0.24, 0.13, 0.32, 0.62, 0.92 and 0.18 μg/kg of fat, respectively;all below the limits permitted by the Codex Alimentarius. With null or lower recurrence and in lowerquantities, the family of DDT, endrin, endrin aldehyde and the endosulphanes were quantified.

Participation of angiotensin II in chronic kidney diseases including diabetic nephropathy (DN) has been extensively described. Similarly, several studies support a protective role for angiotensin-(1-7). However, other studies suggest that some of the cellular effects of angiotensin-(1-7) may be deleterious. The objective of this study was to determine the role of exogenous angiotensin-(1-7) on renal hypertrophy development in rats with streptozotocin-induced diabetes. A control group and three groups of rats with streptozotocin-induced diabetes: untreated diabetic rats, diabetic rats treated with captopril, and diabetic rats treated with angiotensin-(1-7), were studied. After two weeks of treatment, the kidneys were removed under anesthesia with pentobarbital. The kidneys were weighed and the renal cortex was separated for analysis of AT1R, TGF-β1, MASR, and ACE2 expression by western blot. Rats in the three groups with diabetes had hyperglycemia, increased food and water consumption, and higher urinary volume than control rats. Treatment with captopril or angiotensin-(1-7) reversed streptozotocin-induced renal hypertrophy, measured by kidney weight, protein/DNA ratio in renal cortex, glomerular area, or proximal tubular cells area, proteinuria, and creatinine clearance reduction.
