Biflavonoids are divided in two classes:C-C type compounds represented by the dimeric compound amentoflavone and C-O-C-type compounds typified by hinokiflavone(HNK)with an ether linkage between the two connected apigenin *** later sub-group of bisflavonyl ethers includes HNK,ochnaflavone,delicaflavone and a few other dimeric compounds,found in a variety of plants,notably Selaginella species.A comprehensive review of the anticancer properties and mechanism of action of HNK is provided,to highlight the anti-proliferative and anti-metastatic activities of HNK and derivatives,and HNK-containing plant *** anticancer effects rely on the capacity of HNK to interfere with the ERK1-2/p38/NfκB signaling pathway and the regulation of the expression of the matrix metalloproteinases MMP-2 and MMP-9(with a potential direct binding to MMP-9).In addition,HNK was found to function as a potent modulator of pre-mRNA splicing,inhibit-ing the SUMO-specific protease *** such,HNK represents a rare SENP1 inhibitor of natural origin and a scaffold to design synthetic *** formulations of HNK have been elaborated to enhance its solubility,to facilitate the compound delivery and to enhance its anticancer *** review shed light on the anticancer potential of C-O-C-type biflavonoids and specifically on the pharmacological profile of *** compound deserves further attention as a regu-lator of pre-mRNA splicing,useful to treat cancers(in particular hepatocellular carcinoma)and other human pathologies.

This study examines the relationship between high positive isostatic gravity anomalies （IGA）, steep topography and lower crustal extrusion at the eastern margin of the Tibetan Plateau. IGA data has revealed uplift and extrusion of lower crustal flow in the Longmen Shan Mountains （the LMS）. firstly, The high positive IGA zone corresponds to the LMS orogenic belt. It is shown that abrupt changes in IGA correspond to zones of abrupt change of topography, crustal thickness and rock density along the LMS. Secondly, on the basis of the Airy isostasy theory, simulations and inversions of the positive IGA were conducted using three-dimensional bodies. The results indicated that the LMS lacks a mountain root, and that the top surface of the lower crust has been elevated by 11 km, leading to positive IGA, tectonic load and density load. Thirdly, according to Watts＇s flexural isostasy model, elastic deflection occurs, suggesting that the limited （i.e. narrow） tectonic and density load driven by lower crustal flow in the LMS have led to asymmetric flexural subsidence in the foreland basin and lifting of the forebulge. finally, based on the correspondence between zones of extremely high positive IGA and the presence of the Precambrian Pengguan-Baoxing complexes in the LMS, the first appearance of erosion gravels from the complexes in the Dayi Conglomerate layer of the Chengdu Basin suggest that positive IGA and lower crustal flow in the LMS took place at 3.6 Ma or slightly earlier.

The objective of this study was to analyze the effect of adding meteorological data to the training process of two milk production forecast *** two models chosen were the nonlinear auto-regressive model with exogenous input(NARX)and the multiple linear regression(MLR)*** accuracy of these models were assessed using seven different combinations of precipitation,sunshine hours and soil temperature as additional model training *** data(daily milk yield and days in milk)from 39 pasture-based Holstein-friesian Irish dairy cows were selected to compare to the model outputs from a central *** models were trained using historical milk production data from three lactation cycles and were employed to predict the total daily milk yield of a fourth lactation cycle for each individual cow over short(10-day),medium(30-day)and long-term(305-day)forecast *** NARX model was found to provide a greater prediction accuracy when compared to the MLR model when predicting annual individual cow milk yield(kg),with R2 values greater than 0.7 for 95.5%and 14.7%of total predictions,*** results showed that the introduction of sunshine hours,precipitation and soil temperature data improved the prediction accuracy of individual cow milk prediction for the NARX model in the short,medium and long-term forecast *** hours was shown to have the largest impact on milk production with an improvement of forecast accuracy observed in 60%and 70%of all predictions(for all 39 test cows from both groups).However,the overall improvement in accuracy was small with a maximum forecast error reduction of 4.3%.Thus,the utilization of meteorological parameters in milk production forecasting did not have a substantial impact on forecast accuracy.

With the recent advances in detection and treatment of cancer,there is an increasing emphasis on the efficacy and safety aspects of cancer *** therapy is a common treatment for a wide variety of cancers,either alone or in combination with other *** radiation injury to the gastrointestinal tract is a frequent side effect of radiation therapy and a considerable proportion of patients suffer acute or chronic gastrointestinal symptoms as a *** side effects often cause morbidity and may in some cases lower the efficacy of radiotherapy *** injury to the gastrointestinal tract can be minimised by either of two strategies:technical strategies which aim to physically shift radiation dose away from the normal intestinal tissues,and biological strategies which aim to modulate the normal tissue response to ionising radiation or to increase its resistance to *** considerable improvement in the safety of radiotherapy treatment has been achieved through the use of modern optimised planning and delivery techniques,biological techniques may offer additional further *** agents have been used to prevent or minimize the severity of gastrointestinal injury induced by ionising radiation exposure,including biological,chemical and pharmacological *** this review we aim to discuss various technical strategies to prevent gastrointestinal injury during cancer radiotherapy,examine the different therapeutic options for acute and chronic gastrointestinal radiation injury and outline some examples of research directions and considerations for prevention at a pre-clinical level.

Ionising radiation therapy is a common treatment modality for different types of cancer and its use is expected to increase with advances in screening and early detection of *** injury to the gastrointestinal tract is important factor working against better utility of this important therapeutic *** survivors can suffer a wide variety of acute and chronic symptoms following radiotherapy,which significantly reduces their quality of life as well as adding an extra burden to the cost of health *** accurate diagnosis and treatment of intestinal radiation injury often represents a clinical challenge to practicing physicians in both gastroenterology and *** the growing recognition of the problem and some advances in understanding the cellular and molecular mechanisms of radiation injury,relatively little is known about the pathophysiology of gastrointestinal radiation injury or any possible susceptibility factors that could aggravate its *** aims of this review are to examine the various clinical manifestations of post-radiation gastrointestinal symptoms,to discuss possible patient and treatment factors implicated in normal gastrointestinal tissue radiosensitivity and to outline different mechanisms of intestinal tissue injury.

Sagittal knee laxity is often quantified using arthrometers. Adding rotational laxity and compliance measurementsis relatively new and could bring new information for anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury diagnosis. TheDYNEELAX® is a new knee arthrometer able to evaluate simultaneously tibial translation and rotation. Thepurpose is to assess the sensitivity, reproducibility and repeatability of the DYNEELAX® with a prototype leg toprovide accurate instructions before using it in clinical practice. Sensitivity is studied by varying 7 parameters(positioning and sensors), and reproducibility by repeating measurement series with a group of two experiencedoperators and a group of two non-experienced operators. Repeatability is assessed throughout the study. Theresults showed that DYNEELAX® is poorly sensitive to the angle and the position of the displacement sensor, andthe angle of the rotation sensor. It is a bit sensitive to positioning of patella and ankle supports. It is very sensitiveto the tightening of the patella and ankle supports. It exists a significant difference only between groups (p ficant difference between the two experienced operators (p > 0.215), or between thetwo non-experienced operators (p > 0.229). Variation coefficients for intra-series are on average inferior to 5% fortranslation and rotation tests. Then, the DYNEELAX® presented encouraging results with a good accuracy and agood reliability but operators must be careful about positioning.
