In this study,by means of homotopy perturbation method(HPM) an approximate solution of the magnetohydrodynamic(MHD) boundary layer flow is *** main feature of the HPM is that it deforms a difficult problem into a set of problems which are easier to *** produces analytical expressions for the solution to nonlinear differential *** obtained analytic solution is in the form of an infinite power *** this work,the analytical solution obtained by using only two terms from HPM *** with the exact solution and the solution obtained by the Pade approximants and shooting method show the high accuracy,simplicity and efficiency of this method.

AIM:To evaluate the results and complications of secondary endoresection via pars plana vitrectomy for choroidal melanoma and review the previously reported endoresection studies on the treatment of choroidal ***:The medical records of 6 patients with choroidal melanoma who underwent secondary endoresection between March 2012 and March 2020 were retrospectively *** indications for secondary endoresection were progressive or recurrent tumor and severe exudative retinal detachment after previous treatment with plaque radiotherapy/Cyberknife radiosurgery/transpupillary thermotherapy(TTT).RESULTS:Before endoresection,2 eyes had Iodine-125 plaque radiotherapy and TTT,1 eye had Ruthenium-106 plaque radiotherapy and TTT,1 eye had Cyberknife radiosurgery and TTT,1 eye had Cyberknife radiosurgery,and 1 eye had TTT *** visual acuity ranged from 20/63 to 20/1600(Snellen) and from 0.5 to 1.9(mean:1.1) on the log MAR *** mean tumor base diameters were 9.5×8.7 mm and the mean tumor thickness was 5.4 *** secondary endoresection,transient vitreous hemorrhage developed in 2(33.3%) eyes and retinal detachment in 1(16.7%) *** examination revealed epithelioid cell melanoma in 4(66.7%) eyes and mixed cell melanoma in 1(16.7%).Melanoma cell type was not specified in 1(16.7%) *** a mean follow-up of 49.6 mo(range:16-90 mo),mean visual acuity did not improve and 1 eye was enucleated due to tumor *** visual acuity ranged from 20/63 to 20/1600(Snellen) and from 0.5 to 1.9(mean:1.2) on the log MAR *** patients with choroidal melanoma developed metastasis and eventually ***:Secondary endoresection seems to be an effective treatment option for globe salvage in choroidal melanoma not responsive to conventional treatment and displaying persistent exudative retinal *** was no visual acuity increase among the treated eyes but globe salvage was possible in most cases in this study.

Infection with hepatitis C virus (HCV) is a common cause of chronic liver disease,and HCV-related cirrhosis and hepatocellular carcinoma are the leading causes for liver transplantation in the Western *** infection of the transplanted liver allograft is universal in patients with detectable HCV viremia at the time of transplant and can cause a spectrum of disease,ranging from asymptomatic chronic infection to an aggressive fibrosing cholestatic *** HCV is more aggressive in the post-transplant population and is a leading cause of allograft loss,morbidity,and ***,treatment of recurrent HCV has been limited by low rates of treatment success and high side effect *** the past few years,promising new therapies have emerged for the treatment of HCV that have high rates of sustained virological response without the need for interferon based *** addition to being highly effective,these treatments have higher rates of adherence and a lower side effect *** purpose of this review is to summarize current therapies in recurrent HCV infection,to review the recent advances in therapy,and to highlight areas of ongoing research.

Objective:To evaluate total phenolic,antioxidant and antimicrobial activities of methanolic extracts of the Wiedemannia multifida(***)and Wiedemannnia orientalis(***).Methods:Phosmomolybdenum assay,DPPH radical scavenging activity andβ-carotent-linoleate bleaching were used to evaluate the antioxidant ***:The total phenolics were found to be(22.45±0.60)and(9.53±0.00)mg gallic acid equivalents(GAE)/g in *** and *** extracts,*** predominant phenolic compounds identified by HPLC-DAD in the both extracts were rutin+ellagic acid and *** antioxidant capacity and DPPH radical scavenging activity of *** were higher than ***β-carotene-linoleic acid system,both extracts exhibited strong inhibition against linoleic acid *** activity was assessed by the agar diffusion method against fifteen *** extracts exhibited remarkable antibacterial ***:The present study suggests that methanolic extracts of *** and *** could be a good source of antioxidant and antimicrobial agents in foods,pharmaceuticals preparations.

The Eastern Pontides orogenic belt(EPOB)represents a significant segment of the AlpineHimalayan orogenic belt that evolved from the Paleozoic to Cenozoic *** we report new zircon U-Pb ages,together with Lu-Hf isotopes,and whole-rock geochemical and Sr-Nd isotopic analyses of plutonic rocks from EPOB,northeastern *** aim is to interpret magmatic evolution in which the granitoids *** U-Pb dating of six samples yielded crystallization ages of~134,~82,~39 Ma,*** show a wide range of87Sr/86Sr((i))(0.7039–0.7109),andεNd(t)values varying from-9 to+4.6,yielding model ages(TDM)from 520 to 1623 Ma,suggesting a heterogeneous magma *** zircons show exlusively positiveεHf(t)values(+12.4 to+1.4),yielding model ages(TDM)from 352 to 1059 Ma,implying that they are most likely derived from a juvenile lower crust rather than the mature continental *** this study,we suggested that the northward subduction of the Neo-Tethyan oceanic slab began from the Early Cretaceous and resulted in the Late Cretaceous ***,the Middle Eocene magmatism in the EPOB was related to the collision of the Anatolide Taurid Platform(ATP)with the Pontides.

This study presents the results of hydrogeochemical studies carried out in Zeytun thermal springs in Kahramanmaras,located South Middle *** than 90thermal water samples were collected on a regular basis from 2006to 2008to measure element concentrations as a monitor of earthquake *** samples were analyzed using *** observed B,Ba,Br and Ge concentrations for 16months are in ranges of 79～422,103～167,28～93and 0.3～1.2 μ g.L-1,*** concentrations for these periods are in range of 7～*** data identify some element anomalies before *** anomalies are characterized by decreases up to 158%in Ba and Cl *** occurrence of these anomalies can be attributed to stress / strain induced pressure changes in the subsurface water *** can be suggested that the thermal springs in the fault line area are ideal sites for precursors of earthquakes.

Role of self expandable stents in management of colorectal cancers

Acute malignant colorectal obstruction is a complication of colorectal cancer that can occur in 7%-29% of patients. Self-expanding metallic stent placement for malignant colorectal obstruction has gained popularity as a safe and effective procedure for relieving obstruction. This technique can be used in the palliation of malignant colorectal obstruction, as a bridge to elective surgery for resectable colorectal cancers, palliation of extracolonic malignant obstruction, and for nonmalignant etiologies such as anastomotic strictures, Crohn's disease, radiation therapy, and diverticular diseases. Self-expanding metallic stent has its own advantages and disadvantages over the surgery in these indications. During the insertion of the self-expanding metallic stent, and in the followup, short term and long term morbidities should be kept in mind. The most important complications of the stents are perforation, stent obstruction, stent migration, and bleeding. Additionally, given the high risk of perforation, if a patient is treated or being considered fortreatmentwith antiangiogenic agents such as bevacizumab, it is not recommended to use self-expanding metallic stent as a palliative treatment for obstruction. Therefore, there is a need for careful clinical evaluation for each patient who is a candidate for this procedure. The purpose of this review was to evaluate self-expanding metallic stent in the management of the obstruction of the colon due to the colorectal and extracolonic obstruction.

AIM: To quantify corneal ultrastructure using laser scanning in vivo confocal microscopy(IVCM) in patients with keratoconus and control subjects. METHODS: Unscarred corneas of 78 keratoconic subjects without a history of contact lens use and 36age-matched control subjects were evaluated with slit-lamp examination(SLE), corneal topography and laser scanning IVCM. One eye was randomly chosen for analysis. Anterior and posterior stromal keratocyte,endothelial cell and basal epithelial cell densities and sub-basal nerve structure were ***: IVCM qualitatively demonstrated enlarged basal epithelial cells, structural changes in sub-basal and stromal nerve fibers, abnormal stromal keratocytes and keratocyte nuclei, and pleomorphism and enlargement of endothelial cells. Compared with control subjects, significant reductions in basal epithelial cell density( 5817 ± 306 cells / mm2 vs 4802 ±508 cells/mm2,P < 0. 001), anterior stromal keratocyte density(800 ±111 cells/mm2 vs 555 ±115 cells/mm2, P <0.001),posterior stromal keratocyte density(333±34 cells/mm2vs270 ±47 cells/mm2, P <0.001), endothelial cell density(2875 ±223 cells/mm2 vs 2686 ±265 cells/mm2, P <0.001),sub-basal nerve fiber density(31.2 ±8.4 nerves/mm2vs18.1 ±9.2 nerves/mm2, P <0.001), sub-basal nerve fiber length(21.4±3.4 mm/mm2 vs 16.1±5.1 mm/mm2, P <0.001),and sub-basal nerve branch density(median 50.0(first quartile 31.2- third quartile 68.7) nerve branches/mm2 vs median 25.0(first quartile 6.2- third quartile 45.3) nerve branches/mm2, P <0.001) were observed in patients with ***: Significant microstructural abnormalities were identified in all corneal layers in the eyes of subjects with keratoconus using IVCM. This non-invasive in vivo technique provides an important means to define and follow progress of microstructural changes in patients with keratoconus.
