La..7Sr0.3Cr0.4Mn0.6O3-δperovskite na.opa.ticles ha.e been synthetized using a. ethylene glycol modified solgel method a.d impregna.ed by Cu0.75Ni0.25na.opa.ticles. The pha.e tra.sitions a.d nuclea.ion kinetics were studied by time resolved x-ra. diffra.tion, Rietveld, Ra.a. spectroscopy a.d high resolution tra.smission electron microscopy. Findings ha.e shown tha., a. a.omic disorder domina.es from room tempera.ure to 400 °C. Na.opa.ticles with crysta. size a.t through nuclei forma.ion of La..7Sr0.3Cr0.4Mn0.6O3-δa.d SrCrO4solid solutions with Pm3m cubic a.d P21/n monoclinic symmetry respectively in the ra.ge of 600–650 °C. Symmetry reduction from the Pm3m→R3c spa.e group ha. been obta.ned a. a.lower tempera.ure（750 °C） tha. those reported in the litera.ure in oxygen a.mosphere a.d it wa. confirmed by a. octa.edra. distortion, which ta.es pla.e in the crysta.logra.hic direction[221]/（122）. The Johnson-Mehl-a.ra.i model ha. described the whole process, where the existence of two pha.es wa. shown before it rea.hed its complete D3d6point group symmetry.

Introduction: Uterine leiomyoma., or fibroids, a.e preva.ent benign tumors a.fecting up to 70% of reproductive-a.e women in the United Sta.es, significa.tly impa.ting productivity a.d qua.ity of life. Despite their commona.ity, the epidemiology a.d clinica. pa.terns of leiomyoma. in Puerto Rico rema.n ina.equa.ely resea.ched. Methods: This study conducted a.seconda.y da.a.a.a.ysis using clinica., menstrua. cycle cha.a.teristics, a.d demogra.hic da.a.from self-a.ministered questionna.res of women undergoing dia.nostic la.a.oscopy for endometriosis in Puerto Rico. Chi-squa.e tests a.d t-tests a.a.yzed ca.egorica. a.d continuous va.ia.les, respectively (p Results: a.ong 1,610 endometriosis ca.es, 312 included uterine fibroids. Preva.ence estima.es were 10.3% (40 yea.s). Primipa.ous women a.era.ed 22.14 yea.s, with 40.71% ha.ing 2 - 3 pregna.cies a.d 26.28% experiencing misca.ria.es. Symptoms included infertility (29.5%), dyspa.eunia.(40.7%), severe pa.n (50%), a.d dysmenorrhea.(75.6%). Comorbidities included ova.ia. cysts (52.2%) a.d a.norma. uterine bleeding (37.8%). Conclusions: a.va.ced a.e, pa.ity, a.d comorbidities like dia.etes a.d hypertension were preva.ent in our cohort. Understa.ding the epidemiologica. profile of women living in Puerto Rico with uterine fibroids is crucia. for improving dia.nostic a.a.eness a.d enha.cing pa.ient ca.e.

The L1014F muta.ion in the volta.e-sodium cha.nel gene ha. been a.socia.ed with resista.ce to DDT a.d pyrethroids in va.ious a.thropod species including mosquitoes. We determined the frequency of the L1014F kdr muta.ion in 16 field popula.ions of Culex quinquefa.cia.us from Northea.tern Mexico collected between 2008 a.d 2013. The L1014F wa. present in a.l popula.ions a.a.yzed with the lowest frequency （3.33%） corresponding to the popula.ion from Monclova.collected in 2012, a.d the highest frequency （63.63%） from the Monterrey popula.ion collected in 2012. The presence of a.kdr muta.ion in popula.ions of Cx. quinquefa.cia.us from northea.tern Mexico provides evidence ofpyrethroid resista.ce. This requires a.specia. a.tention, considering tha. pyrethroid-ba.ed insecticides a.e commonly used in vector-control ca.pa.gns, especia.ly a.a.nst a.des a.gypti （L.）.

Coffee is one of the most consumed a.d commercia.ized crops in the world, which is why there is a.potentia. risk to find a.a.ica.coffee (a. expensive va.iety) a.ultera.ed with robusta.coffee (a.chea.er va.iety). The currently used technique for certifying coffee, High Performa.ce Liquid Chroma.ogra.hy (HPLC), requires the sa.ple to be subjected to a.chemica. trea.ment prior to a.a.ysis;in a.dition, the equipment is bulky a.d ca. not be moved ea.ily. La.er Induced Brea.down Spectroscopy (LIBS) is a.technique which does not require tha. sa.ples be subjected to a.chemica. pretrea.ment, a.d equipment is sma.l a.d porta.le, this ca. sa.e va.ua.le time in coffee tra.ing. The purpose of this resea.ch wa. to demonstra.e tha. LIBS ca. be a.plied to solve va.ious problems rela.ed with the coffee a.thentica.ion. Green coffee pills with different concentra.ions of a.a.ica.a.d robusta.va.ieties were a.a.yzed by LIBS, the results were used in the construction of ca.ibra.ion curves for the detection of the degree of simula.ed a.ultera.ion in coffee. It wa. found tha. the rela.ive intensities of Ca.(392.4 nm), Sr (407.1 nm), N (500.5 nm) a.d Na.(588.7 nm), a. well a. the intensity ra.ios of Ca.II (392.4 nm)/N I (500.5 nm), Sr I (407.1 nm)/N I (500.5 nm)a.d N I (500.5 nm)/Na.I (588.7 nm) ca. be used for this purpose. It is concluded tha. the differentia.ion of coffee a.d the detection of its a.ultera.ion is possible with the use of LIBS. Further, with the use of a. a.tificia. Neura. Network (a.N) of type Multila.er Perceptron, it wa. possible to correctly cla.sify the spectra.of a.a.ica.a.d robusta.roa.ted coffee.

Ba.kground Gia.t a.ona. neuropa.hy (Ga.) is a.ra.e neurodegenera.ive disea.e tra.smitted in a. a.tosoma. recessive mode. This disorder presents motor a.d sensitive symptoms with a. onset in ea.ly childhood. Progressive neurodegenera.ion ma.es the pa.ients wheelcha.r dependent by the end of the second deca.e of life. a.fected individua.s do not survive beyond the third deca.e of life. Molecula. a.a.ysis ha. identified muta.ions in the gene Ga. in pa.ients with this disorder. This gene produces a.protein ca.led giga.onin which is presuma.ly involved in protein degra.a.ion via.the ubiquitin-protea.ome system. However, the underlying molecula. mecha.ism is not clea.ly understood yet. Methods Here we present the fi rst pa.ient from Mexico with clinica. da.a.suggesting Ga.. Sequencing of the Ga. gene wa. ca.ried out. Cha.ges in the nucleotide sequence were investiga.ed for their possible impa.t on protein function a.d structure using the publicly a.a.la.le prediction tools PolyPhen-2 a.d Pa.THER. Results The pa.ient is a.compound heterozygous ca.rying two novel muta.ions in the Ga. gene. The sequence a.a.y-sis revea.ed two missense muta.ions in the Kelch repea.s doma.n. In one a.lele, a.C>T tra.sition wa. found in exon 9 a. the nucleotide position 55393 (g.55393C>T). In the other a.lele, a.tra.sversion G>T in exon 11 a. the nucleotide position 67471 (g.67471G>T) wa. observed. Both of the bioinforma.ic tools predicted tha. these a.ino a.id substitutions would ha.e a.nega.ive impa.t on giga.onin's function. Conclusion This work provides useful informa.ion for hea.th professiona.s a.d expa.ds the spectrum of disea.e-ca.sing muta.ions in the Ga. gene a.d it is the first documented ca.e in Mexica. popula.ion.

Immigra.ion density ma.nitude a.d entry sizes of shrimp postla.va. to Terminos La.oon were a.a.yzed through sixteen fortnightly sa.pling from Ma.ch to November in 2013, in three levels in the deepest cha.nel of the Puerto Rea. inlet. Tra.ezium nets were used with 1.5 m length, 50 cm mouth dia.eter a.d 505 μm mesh, during ea.h sa.pling 12 ca.ts of 15 minutes/ea.h were ma.e. It wa. determined the presence of two species Litopena.us setiferus a.d Fa.fa.tepena.us duora.um, with tota. densities of 41.284 a.d 37.558 Pls 100 m-3 respectively. The a.nua. cycle of immigra.ion of postla.va. wa. very simila. for both species, with a.clea. pa.tern of immigra.ion throughout the yea., linked to clima.ic va.ia.ion, with the highest densities (88%) during ra.ny sea.on. There were two periods of ma.imum density, rela.ed to the periods of grea.est reproduction of these species. The density va.ia.ion a.ong ca.t reflects the presence of a. lea.t two a.d proba.ly more postla.va. ba.ks, loca.ed some closer tha. others to the mouth of the la.oon a.d with different densities in them. The a.era.e sizes of the two species were 7.9 mm tota. length of L. setiferus a.d 9.0 mm of F. duora.um. The differences in income sizes of both species seem to indica.e the ha.ita. preference of a.ult popula.ions, L. setiferus occurring in more coa.ta. a.ea. tha. F. duora.um. Considering the va.ia.ion in density a.d sizes throughout ea.h sa.pling period, it is evident tha. the la.va. on the ba.ks belong to different cohorts a.d tha. ha.e coincided in their loca.ion in front of the mouth.

Genera.ly high volta.e insula.ors a.e exposed to wea.her where humidity, from ra.n a.d moist, together with pollution a.lows a.cumula.ion of unwa.ted ma.eria. on the surfa.e of the insula.or. Clea.ing procedures a.e then needed to remove such ma.eria. a.d a.oid short-circuiting. The most commonly used clea.ing methods a.e ha.d clea.ing using chemica.s tha. need turning off the ma.n a.d wa.er jet, which a.lows keeping the line in service. In this work we explore the possibility of using la.er a.la.ion for clea.ing high volta.e cera.ic insula.ors. It is demonstra.ed tha. clea.ing ca. be a.complished by a.two-step process. First a.Q-switched Nd: Ya. la.er is used to a.la.e the unwa.ted ma.eria.. The second step is to use a.free running Nd: Ya. la.er to restore the surfa.e hydrophobicity of cera.ic insula.or, which is a.fected in the first process step.

Reduviida.). Nineteen of the 31 species tha. occur in Mexico a.e a.socia.ed with huma.s, a.d a.l a.e ca.a.le of tra.smitting the disea.e. Pyrethroids a.e the insecticides recommended for the control of these vectors in Mexico. We determined the susceptibility to the pyrethroids dclta.ethrin a.d permethrin of peridomestic popula.ions of Tria.oma.ma.zottii Usinger a.d two popula.ions of Tria.oma.longipetmis Usinger in compa.ison with a.reference stra.n for ea.h species. Bioa.sa.s were performed for the determina.ion of the LD50 for both field popula.ions a.d reference stra.ns. a.ma.imum of 27 fold resista.ce to delta.ethrin wa. observed in T. ma.zottii, mea.while, for permethrin, T. longipennis from Ja.isco show the highest va.ue of 3.19 fold. There wa. significa.tly increa.ed a.tivity of estera.es in field popula.ions in compa.ison with their corresponding reference stra.n. The results of the sea.ch of kdr muta.ions rela.ed to the resista.ce to delta.ethrin a.d permethrin in the eva.ua.ed species show the presence of muta.ions in the field popula.ions, a. is the ca.e with individua.s of T. ma.zottii, for which the muta.ion wa. found a.43V, a.d for the two popula.ions of T. longipennis included in this study, we report the presence of the kdr muta.ion K964R. Eva.ua.ion of the va.ious mecha.isms involved in resista.ce to pyrethroids in tria.omines from Mexico could guide us to the rea. justifica.ion for insecticide resista.ce monitoring.
