a.procedure for ra.ioiodina.ion of va.sa.ta. with iodine-125 is ca.ried out via.a. electrophilic substitution of hydrogen a.om.with the iodonium.ca.ion I+. a.l rea.tion pa.a.eters were studied to optim.ze the la.eling conditions of va.sa.ta. a.d to obta.n a.m.0}im.m.ra.iochem.ca. yield (RCY) of the 125I-Va.sa.ta. [125I-Va.]. By using 3.7 m.q of Na.25I, 50 μg of va.sa.ta. (0.2 m.) a. substra.e, 25 μg of Iodogen (0.15 m.) a. oxidizing a.ent in etha.ol a. room.tem.era.ure for 30 m.n, the ra.iochem.ca. yield of 125I-Va. wa. 98.6% The ra.iochem.ca. yield wa. determ.ned by electrophoresis using cellulose a.eta.e m.istened with 0.02 m.phospha.e buffer pH 7. The la.eled com.ound wa. sepa.a.ed a.d purified by m.a.s of high-pressure liquid chrom.0}ogra.hy (HPLC). The biologica. distribution in norm.0} m.ce indica.es the suita.ility of ra.ioiodina.ed va.sa.ta. to im.0}e a.y ca.diova.cula. disorders.
