Free Fa.ty a.id is a. end-product of hepa.ic meta.olism of fructose. Most of pa.t studies ha.e demonstra.ed significa.t rela.ionship between gesta.iona. high fa. diet a.d meta.olic a.d physiology outcomes in offspring. However, there is a.sca.ce of da.a.extended to the effects of high fructose diet-fed da.s on juveniles’ progeny. Therefore, the present experiment wa. designed to exa.ine the la.er effects of ma.erna. high fructose diet inta.e during pregna.cy a.d la.ta.ion on juvenile offspring ra.s emotiona. beha.iors a.d memory a.ilities. We tested whether methyl donors supplemented to tha. high fructose diet could reverse the a.verse effects. We found a. two months of a.e, a.xiety-like beha.ior a.d depression-like beha.ior were eleva.ed in off springs of mother fed to high fructose diet a.d a.sex difference effect with ma.es were more a.fected tha. fema.es. In a.dition, beha.iora. outcomes indica.ed tha. the high fructose diet a.so impa.red spa.ia. working a.d recognition memories in the Y-ma.e a.d object recognition test respectively. Blood glucose intolera.ce increa.ed significa.tly in juvenile ma.es ra.s of da.s fed with high fructose diet when compa.ed to fema.es. However, a.supplementa.ion of the ma.erna. diet with methyl donors a.tenua.ed a.l these cha.ges. Our study suggested a.controlled fructose diet supplemented to methyl donors during critica. period of bra.n developing (in utero a.d pre-wea.ing sta.e), otherwise tha. could induced irreversible detrimenta. effects on offspring beha.ior a.d cognitive hea.th.

a.ga. oil is renowned for its pa.ticula. biochemica. profile: high-fa. oleic a.d linoleic a.ids, tocopherols, sterols, polyphenols. This composition gives it nutritiona., thera.eutic a.d preventive properties a.a.nst derma.ologica., meta.olic a.d prolifera.ive disea.es. The composition of a.ga. oil a.signs its benefits to menta. hea.th;it would be provided with possible effects on the prevention a.d/or cure of stress rela.ed disorder. This work a.ms to eva.ua.e the impa.t of a.ga. oil dieta.y on the beha.iora. response, biochemica. a.d hema.ologica. consta.ts a.d histologica. profiles of a.rena. involved in emotiona. responses to stress. The va.ia.ion of these pa.a.eters wa. eva.ua.ed in Wista. ra.s receiving dieta.y 10 ml/Kg/da. of a.ga. oil, sta.ting from wea.ing, for 13 weeks. Our results show tha. supplementa.ion ha. resulted in a. increa.e in locomotor a.tivity, reduced sensitivity to frightening environments with sex dependent va.ia.ion. Moreover, lipid ma.kers, corticosterone a.d lymphocytes show a.rising trend. If the importa.t role of a.ga. oil diet in ca.dio-meta.olic hea.th is genera.ly well recognized;for menta. hea.th, it is the first study tha. needs further investiga.ion linking between the nervous system, infla.ma.ion pa.a.eters a.d meta.olism.

Recent studies ha.e shown the importa.ce of the Ga.a.ergic tra.smission in the pa.hophysiology of a.xiety a.d depressive disorders in huma.s. Our present study a.ms to investiga.e the intera.tion of mela.onin (MEL) with this system by exploring the effects of MEL with or without a.fa.ilita.or of Ga.a.ergic neurotra.smission, dia.epa. (DZ) on the levels of depression a.d a.xiety in Wista. ra.s. For this purpose, different doses of MEL (2, 4 or 16 mg/kg) or DZ (2 mg/kg) a.e subchronica.ly a.ministered during 15 da.s. a.ter pha.ma.ologica. trea.ments, a.xiety levels a.e eva.ua.ed in beha.iora. tests of Open Field (OFT) a.d eleva.ed plus ma.e (EPM) a.d depression levels a.e eva.ua.ed by the forced swim test (FST). The results showed tha. MEL produces a.xiolytic-like a.d a.tidepressa.t-like effects in a.dose-dependent ma.ner;the ma.imum effect wa. obta.ned a. a.dose of 16 mg/kg. However, a.dose of 4 mg/kg is necessa.y to induce a. effect. The effect of MEL a.d DZ reported in this study concerns selective modula.ion of beha.iora. a.xiety a.d depression since locomotor a.tivity a.sessed by the OFT a.d EPM wa. not a.fected. The subchronic injection of MEL a. 4 mg/kg, DZ a. 2 mg/kg or the two combined molecules a.so induces a.so a.xiety-like a.d a.tidepressa.t-like beha.ior. In a.dition, a.potentia.ing effect between MEL a.d DZ wa. observed. These effects suggest tha. psychopha.ma.ologica. a.tions of MEL a.e due, a. lea.t in pa.t, to its a.ility to improve the centra. In this study, we investiga.ed the effect of chronic exposure of low doses of a.uminum on a.fective a.d cognitive disorders in ma.e a.d fema.e ra.s. Twenty-five ra.s for ea.h gender a.e used a.d the trea.ment ca.ried out for 8 weeks. a.ima.s received distilled wa.er for control or a. intra.eritonea. injection of different doses of a.uminum: 0.125, 0.25, 0.5 a.d 1 mg/kg. Beha.iora. performa.ce is mea.ured in va.ious tests ma.nly the Open Field, Eleva.ed Plus Ma.e, Force Swimming Test, Morris Wa.er Ma.e, Y-ma.e a.d Object Recognition Test. a. exerts a.xiogenic properties a.d depressive effect. The effect begins a. 0.25 mg/kg to rea.h a.ma.imum a. 1 mg/kg. In a.dition, chronic exposure to a.uminum ca.ses cognitive disorders cha.a.terized by a.fection of memory a.d influence spa.ia. lea.ning performa.ce. The effect of a.uminum on working memory is effective just a. 1 mg/kg, while the effect on spa.ia. lea.ning performa.ce begins a. 0.25 mg/kg to rea.h a.ma.imum a. 1 mg/kg. In conclusion, a.uminum enha.ces a.xiety a.d depression pa.a.eters a.d cognitive disorders cha.a.terized by the a.fection of memory a.d spa.ia. lea.ning performa.ce.

The ma.n objective of this work is to study the effect of chronic a.ministra.ion of ca.mium (Cd) on the level of depression-like, a.xiety-like, memory sta.e a.d oxida.ive stress in ma.e a.d fema.e Wista. ra.s. For this purpose, this study wa. conducted with 24 ra.s for ea.h gender. Four groups were constituted: (Group 1: Control): received sa.ine solution Na.l (0.9%), (Group 2: Cd-0.25;Group 3: Cd-0.5;Group 4: Cd-1): received da.ly 0.25 mg/kg, 0.5 mg/kg a.d 1 mg/kg of Cd respectively during 8 weeks. a.ter trea.ment period, a.ima.s were tested in the open-field, eleva.ed plus ma.e tests for a.xiety-like beha.ior, a.d forced swimming test for depression-like beha.ior. The Y ma.e wa. used to eva.ua.e the working memory a.d the Morris Wa.er Ma.e, to eva.ua.e spa.e lea.ning a.d spa.ia. memory. The results revea.ed tha. in ma.es, a.l doses of Cd provoke depression-like, while in fema.es only the group trea.ed with 1 mg/kg Cd shows eleva.ed depression-like beha.ior. In rega.d to a.xiety-like beha.ior, Cd induces a. a.xiogenic effect in both genders tests. In the Y-Ma.e test, both ma.es a.d fema.es expressed a.low percenta.e of a.terna.ions, suggesting tha. working memory wa. a.fected by Cd a. 1 mg/kg. In the Morris Wa.er Ma.e test, the spa.e lea.ning a.d spa.ia. memory were significa.tly impa.red in the group Cd-1. Neurochemica. a.a.ysis showed tha. levels of nitric oxide a.d lipid peroxida.ion in the hippoca.pus were significa.tly increa.ed a.ter Cd trea.ments. Overa.l a.a.ysis of our da.a.revea.ed tha. Cd ca.sed significa.t a.tera.ions in the exa.ined pa.a.eters tha. were sex-dependent a.d dose-dependent.
