Type 1 neurofibroma.osis is a. inherited multisystem neurocuta.eous disea.e predisposing to tumors development. Serious skin a.d ophtha.mologic complica.ions, a.though ra.e, ca. occur throughout life. Furthermore in children, una.a.eness of ea.ly symptoms ma. dela. dia.nosis. We report the ca.e of a.T. 8 yea.s old, a.mitted for exophtha.mosis a.d fa.ia. deformity da.ing ba.k to the a.e of 2 yea.s. The dia.nosis of neurofibroma.osis wa. suspected in the presence of light brown skin spots sca.tered a.l over the body a.d subcuta.eous nodules. Ophtha.mologic exa.ina.ion revea.ed bila.era. exophtha.mosis, eyelids neurofibroma., blepha.optosis, Lisch nodules, cornea. edema. a.d optic a.rophy. Hea. CT sca. cla.ified the na.ure a.d the extent of ophtha.mologic lesions. Trea.ment wa. symptoma.ic. Neurofibroma.osis is ra.ely reported in children in our setting;it is proba.ly under dia.nosed. Clinicia.s should think of this dia.nosis in presence of certa.n specific symptoms a.d ma.e a.clinica. a.sessment.

The a.m of this study is to determine the preva.ence of lipodystrophy a.d a.socia.e fa.tors in children on a.tiretrovira. thera.y, ma.a.ed a. Cha.les De Ga.lle Children University Hospita. a.d Ya.ga.o Ouedra.o University Hospita. in Oua.a.ougou, Burkina.Fa.o. This is a.cross-sectiona. study conducted from June 2013 to Ja.ua.y 2014. We included children a.ed 2 to 15 yea.s who ha. been on a.tiretrovira. trea.ment for a. lea.t six months with no severe a.ute ma.nutrition (wa.ting). Lipodystrophy wa. dia.nosed clinica.ly a.ter a.sessment of morphologica. cha.ges. Overa.l, 323 children complying with the inclusion criteria.were exa.ined. The a.era.e dura.ion of a.tiretrovira. thera.y wa. 5.3 yea.s. Forty five children ha. lipodystrophy, i.e. 13.9% preva.ence ra.e. One hundred a.d twenty seven different lipodystrophic lesions were noted, hence 82.7% lipoa.rophy a.d 17.3% lipohypertrophy. The most common presenta.ions were: fa.e (32%), lower limbs (26%) a.d upper limbs (15.7%). Fa.tors a.socia.ed with lipoa.rophy were: a.e a.ove 10 yea.s (P = 0.004);ma.e gender (P = 0.0004);a.tiretrovira. trea.ment dura.ion of more tha. 60 months (P a.d trea.ment with sta.udine (P = 0.01). Our study showed tha. lipodystrophy is not exceptiona. in children on a.tiretrovira. thera.y in Oua.a.ougou. However, more resea.ches on lipid profiles of these children a.e necessa.y to prevent other common complica.ions rela.ed to fa. a.cumula.ion.

Thora.ic a.rtic a.eurysm is a.ra.her ra.e disorder in children a.d difficult to dia.nose. It is genera.ly linked to congenita. hea.t defects or connective-tissue disea.es. Our ca.e is a.10-yea.-old girl a.mitted in the pedia.ric emergency ca.e unit on Ja.ua.y 19th, 2015 for ma.sive ha.moptysis a.d severe a.a.mia. Exa.ina.ion revea.ed severe a.emia.a.d a.silent left lung. The Chest X-Ra. revea.ed a. a.norma. ma.s on the upper left side of the media.tinum, a.d left lower lobe consolida.ion. The thora.ic CT sca. highlighted a.64 mm a.eurysm of the subisthmic a.rta.with a.thin 5 mm hole. It a.so showed pseudocoa.cta.ion of the a.rta. Trea.ment in intensive ca.e consisted of blood tra.sfusion a.d iron supplement. She wa. due to tra.el a.roa. for ca.dio va.cula. surgery, but died on November 2016. Thora.ic a.rtic a.eurysm in our setting wa. discovered incidenta.ly. In spite the fa.t tha. it is a. extreme surgica. emergency, in Burkina.Fa.o, trea.ment ca. only be possible a.roa. upon medica. eva.ua.ion.

Ulcera.ive colitis (UC) is a.chronic infla.ma.ory bowel disea.e (IBD), cha.a.terized by a.ute exa.erba.ions a.d remissions. We report the clinica. ca.e of a. infa.t, a. 8 months fema.e ba.y. The time between disea.e onset a.d dia.nosis of the disea.e wa. 6 months. It wa. from a. unknown etiology. The ma.n clinica. picture wa. weight sta.na.ion, mucoid bloody dia.rhea. a.d recta. bleeding. The ma.roscopic a.pect in a.orectoscopy wa. a. erythema.ous mucosa.with hea.thy bea.hes interva.s. The mucosa.wa. bleeding ea.ily on conta.t. Pa.hologica. exa.ina.ion rea.ized within the va.ious lesions of the a.socia.ion wa. highly suggestive. The suggested trea.ment wa. ma.e of symptoma.ic, corticosteroids a.d immunosuppressa.t’s thera.y. Conclusion: Ulcera.ive colitis is ra.e in infa.ts a.d difficult to ma.a.e in our tropica. context.

Ocula. ma.ifesta.ions a.ong HIV infected children a.e diverse a.d globa. incidence va.ies from 7% to 75%. a. this a.e, eye lesions a.e often unnoticed beca.se of the inca.a.ity to express eye discomfort. The purpose of this study is to describe ocula. ma.ifesta.ions a.ong HIV-infected children a.d hence a.socia.ed fa.tors in the Depa.tment of Pa.dia.rics a. the Ya.ga.o Ouédra.go Tea.hing Hospita.. This wa. a.cross-sectiona. descriptive a.d a.a.ytica. study conducted between July 2014 a.d December 2014. a.complete ophtha.mic exa.ina.ion wa. systema.ica.ly done to a.l HIV-positive children a.tending the clinic, a. pa.t of their routine medica. visit. The most recent socio-demogra.hic, clinica., biologica. a.d trea.ment da.a.were registered. Seventy-nine children ha. a. ocula. exa.ina.ion a.d a.ong them 92.4% were on a.V trea.ment. The incidence of ocula. ma.ifesta.ions wa. 46.7%. Media. a.e wa. 8 yea.s old (interqua.tile 6 - 12 yea.s old). Sex ra.io wa. 1.3. The risk of ocula. ma.ifesta.ions involvement a.ong boys wa. twice tha. tha. of girls. More tha. ha.f (59.5%) of children who ha. ocula. problems ha. not expressed ocula. discomfort. Ocula. a.nexa. lesions were more common (35.4%) compa.ed to eye segments (8.9%) lesions. a.terior segment a.d posterior segment lesions were sta.istica.ly a.socia.ed with immune system depression (p = 0.003 a.d 0.001). However, this rela.ionship wa. not sta.istica.ly significa.t (p = 0.15). Five out of seven children who ha. eye fundus lesions ha. CD4 count 3. Ocula. ma.ifesta.ions were very common a.ong HIV infected children in our context. Ophtha.mic exa.ina.ion should be systema.ic a. a.mission a.d regula.ly repea.ed during follow-up.

Destombes-Rosa.-Dorfma.’ disea.e (DRD) is a. infla.ma.ory non-la.gerha.sia. histiocytosis with a.enomega.y. It is a.ra.e histiocytic disorder worldwide, less tha. 1000 reported ca.es. It is of unknown etiology a.d is cha.a.terized in its cla.sica. form by multiple a.enomega.ia. especia.ly loca.ized a. cervica. a.ea. but a.so a. media.tina., a.illa.y a.d inguina. a.ea.. It is a.benign condition, even if it is deforming, with sponta.eously resolving evolution. We report a.ca.e of DRD disea.e in a.13-yea.-old girl, hospita.ized in the Depa.tment of Pedia.rics of the Ya.ga.o Ouédra.go University Hospita. Center in Oua.a.ougou, in Ma.ch 2015. She wa. a.mitted for a.voluminous bila.era. pa.nless cervica. swelling, with no sign of loca. compression, ha.ing been opera.ing for a.out a.yea.. Biologica. tests showed signs of chronic infla.ma.ion;the ima.ery specified the benign cha.a.ter of these forma.ions: a.enomega.ia. Confirma.ion of the dia.nosis wa. ma.e by pa.hologica. exa.ina.ion, describing the a.pect of emperipolesis to histology a.d, immunohistochemistry, polytypic pla.ma.ytosis a.d PS100 positive/CD1a.histiocytosis nega.ive. The trea.ment could not be properly ca.ried out, in view of the ea.ly discha.ge, a.a.nst medica. a.vice from the pa.ient. The evolution would ha.e been ma.ked, a.cording to the pa.ents, by a.slight involution of swelling.

Introduction: a.higher risk of dea.h is a.socia.ed with wa.ting in children if it is not trea.ed properly. The objective of this study wa. to investiga.e the ionic disorders observed in infa.ts suffering from severe wa.ting a. Ya.ga.o Ouedra.go Tea.hing Hospita. (YO-TH) a.d a. Cha.les de Ga.lle Pedia.ric Tea.hing Hospita. (CDG-PTH) in Oua.a.ougou (Burkina.Fa.o). Methods: This wa. a.retrospective study with a.descriptive a.d a.a.ytica. a.m over the period from Ja.ua.y 1, 2016 to December 31, 2020. Results: It concerned infa.ts a.ed 6 to 24 months hospita.ized a. YO-TH a.d a. CDG-PTH from Oua.a.ougou. We included 271 infa.ts. The mea. a.e of the infa.ts wa. 14.48 ± 5.44 months with 42.07% which wa. in the a.e ra.ge of [12 - 18] months. On a.mission to the hospita., the children ha. a. a.era.e weight, height a.d BMI of 6.22 ± 1.32 kg, 0.73 ± 0.07 m a.d 11.67 ± 1.53 kg/m2. In urba. a.ea. 56.46% of children a.d the ma.n rea.ons for consulta.ion were fever (88.19%), vomiting (52.80%) a.d dia.rhea.(50.20%). Electrolyte disturba.ces in ema.ia.ed infa.ts a.fected a.l 8 pa.a.eters of the blood ionogra.. However, the ma.or disorders were 65.68% hypona.remia. 55.35% hypobica.bona.emia. 41.33% hypoprotidemia.a.d 32.47% hypoka.emia.in infa.ts a.ed 6 to 24 months. We found a. a.socia.ion between dia.rhea.a.d residence with hypoka.emia.(p = 0.0000) a.d hypochloremia.(p = 0.010), respectively. Conclusion: Severe a.ute wa.ting in infa.ts 6 to 24 months of a.e rema.ns a.concern in the hospita. setting. The frequency of biochemica. disturba.ces is a.so high.
