Developm.nt of seedless gra.e va.ieties ha.ing increa.ed sweetness, higher yield with better nutritiona. qua.ity is necessa.y to reduce the im.ort dependency. The present resea.ch a.tivities a.e the pa.t of a.gra.e im.rovem.nt project. a.pot experim.nt wa. conducted a. the Ba.gla.esh Institute of Nuclea. a.riculture (BINa., m.m.nsingh, during June to Novem.er 2011 to determ.ne the suita.le ga.m.0}irra.ia.ion doses on growth, lea. a.ea.a.d biochem.ca. cha.a.ters of gra.e sa.lings. Three vegeta.ive bud sta.es viz. bud initia.ion sta.e, 4-lea. sta.e a.d 8-lea. sta.e, a.d four doses of ga.m.0}irra.ia.ion viz. 0, 5, 10, a.d 15 Gy were used a. trea.m.nts. The experim.nt wa. la.d out in a.Ra.dom.zed Com.lete Block.Design with four replica.ions. Different irra.ia.ion doses a.d vegeta.ive bud sta.es showed significa.t va.ia.ions in respect of pla.t growth cha.a.ters, lea. a.ea. soluble protein a.d tota. suga. content. Intera.tion effects a.so ha. significa.t va.ia.ions on m.st of the pa.a.eters studied. Higher doses of ga.m.0}irra.ia.ion ha. showed detrim.nta. effect on gra.e sa.lings. Genera.ly, increa.ed in irra.ia.ion doses showed decrea.ed a.d detrim.nta. effects on m.st of the pa.a.eters under study. m.0}im.m.num.ers a.d length of roots, tota. dry m.0}ter, lea. a.ea.a.d chlorophyll-a.a.d chlorophyll-b content were found a. 5 Gy irra.ia.ion dose. Tota. soluble protein a.d suga. content of lea. were found m.0}im.m.a. no irra.ia.ion a.d 15 Gy, respectively.
