trea.a.ility of synthetic sa.o wa.tewa.er wa. investiga.ed in a.la.ora.ory a.a.robic ta.ered fluidized bed rea.tor （a.FBR） with a.mesoporous gra.ula. a.tiva.ed ca.bon （Ga.） a. a.support ma.eria.. The experimenta. protocol wa. defined to exa.ine the effect of the ma.imum orga.ic loa.ing ra.e （OLR）, hydra.lic retention time （HRT）, the efficiency of the rea.tor a.d to report on its stea.y- sta.e performa.ce. The rea.tor wa. subjected to a.stea.y-sta.e opera.ion over a.ra.ge of OLR up to 85.44 kg COD/（m^3·d）. The COD remova. efficiency wa. found to be 92% in the rea.tor while the bioga. produced in the digester rea.hed 25.38 m^3/（m^3·d） of the rea.tor. With the increa.e of OLR from 83.7 kg COD/（m^3·d）, the COD remova. efficiency decrea.ed. a.so a. a.tificia. neura. network （a.N） model using multila.er perceptron （MLP） ha. been developed for a.system of two input va.ia.le a.d five output dependent va.ia.les. For the tra.ning of the input-output da.a. the experimenta. va.ues obta.ned ha.e been used. The output pa.a.eters predicted ha.e been found to be much closer to the corresponding experimenta. ones a.d the model wa. va.ida.ed for 30% of the untra.ned da.a. The mea. squa.e error （MSE） wa. found to be only 0.0146.

a. a.tempt wa. ma.e to deposit thin film of silver onto the gla.s substra.e by using a. Cl precursor, instea. of conventiona. precursor a.NO_3 with vita.in C by inexpensive a.d convenient successive ionic la.er a.sorption a.d rea.tion(SILa.) method. The deposited silver thin film wa. cha.a.terized by X-ra. diffra.tion(XRD) a.a.ysis, sca.ning electron microscope(SEM), UV-visible a.d electrica. I-V study. The diffra.tion study showed FCC structure of meta.lic silver in good a.reement with the sta.da.d va.ues of JCPDS(04–0783). SEM revea.s flower like na.o pa.ticles produced on the substra.e. The surfa.e pla.mon resona.ce(SPR) pea. in the UV-visible spectrum shows ma.imum a.sorption a. 350 nm.
