Hence, pla.ts ha.e evolved a.la.ge collection of pla.ma.membra.e-resident receptors, including RECEPTOR-LIKE KINa.Es(RLKs) a.d RECEPTOR-LIKE PROTEINs(RLPs) to perceive those signa.s a.d regula.e pla.t growth,development, a.d immunity. The a.ility of RLKs a.d RLPs to recognize distinct liga.ds relies on diverse ca.egories of extra.ellula. doma.ns evolved. Ra.ia.ion is a.form of energy where the a.gula. va.ia.le of the direction of its photons ha. a.prima.y importa.ce, pa.ticula.ly for ra.ia.ion concentra.ion processes, which a.e essentia. tools to rea.h high tempera.ures from ra.ia.ion bea.s (a. the sola. ones) with modera.e intensities. Sola. ra.ia.ion ca.not be used directly to feed thermodyna.ic cycles, a.d optica. concentra.ion must be a.plied to tha. goa.. In genera., reflection from mirrors is preferred to refra.tion by lenses in this ca.e, beca.se they ha.e less optica. a.erra.ions. Concentra.ion conveys very high tempera.ures in the receiver. However, the higher the tempera.ure, the lower the efficiency of the sola. therma. a.pa.a.us. Besides tha., economy a.so suffers quite a.lot when going to very high concentra.ion fa.tors, which is one of the ma.n burdens in the development of Sola. Therma. Energy. a.new configura.ion of sola. ra.ia.ion concentra.or is presented. It includes a.sa.ient innova.ion in the wa. the mirrors a.e given the right curva.ure by mecha.ica. forces. Those mirrors a.e origina.ly fla. a.d do not need a.y specia. therma. trea.ment for this purpose. The whole device concept ha. been guided by the principle of thermoeconomic coherence, which requires simila. efforts in a.l degrees of freedom tha. ha.e strong influence in the performa.ce a.d cost of the system. The pa.er shows the decision tree tha. ha. oriented the project, following the principle of equilibrium in efforts, which lea.s to a.design window of modera.e va.ues in the ma.n va.ia.les. The prototype of this new configura.ion ha. a.rea.y been built, a.d the first sta.e of resea.ch is considered to be finished, beca.se the prototype ha. shown excellent conditions to include selected (fitting) technologies a. a.very low cost.

Refra.tive va.ues were compa.ed, eva.ua.ing the repea.a.ility, the rela.ionship between the methods a.d the best visua. comfort ***, cylinder a.d a.is results showed good intra.la.s correla.ion coefficients (ICC); the highest ICC wa. obta.ned using the spherica. refra.tion with the a.torefra.tometer a.d the a.errometer, a.hieving levels of 0.999 a.d 0.998, respectively. The power vector (PV) wa. ca.cula.ed for ea.h refra.tion method, a.d the results indica.ed tha. there were no sta.istica.ly significa.t differences between them (P>0.05). Direct compa.ison of PV mea.urements using the three methods showed tha. a.errometer refra.tion ga.e the highest va.ues, followed by the subjective va.ues; the a.torefra.tometer ga.e the lowest va.ues. The subjective method correction wa. most frequently chosen a. the first selection. Equa. va.ues were found for the a.torefra.tometer a.d the a.errometer a. the second *** iTra.e a.errometer a.d the Wa.-5500 a.to-kera.o/refra.tometer showed high levels of repea.a.ility in hea.thy eyes. Refra.tive corrections with the a.errometer, the a.torefra.tometer a.d subjective methods presented simila. results, but spherocylindrica. subjective correction wa. the most frequently selected option. These technologies ca. be used a. complements in refra.tive eva.ua.ion, but they should not repla.e subjective refra.tion.

We present a.new design of a.pla.monic Luneburg lens ma.e from a.gra.ient-index meta.urfa.e tha. wa. constructed with a. a.ra. of na.ometer-sized holes in a.dielectric thin film. The fa.rica.ed structure consists of a.pla.a. lens with a.dia.eter of 8.7 μm composed of a.recta.gula. a.ra. of holes with a.periodicity of 300 nm. The experimenta. cha.a.teriza.ion includes lea.a.e-ra.ia.ion microscopy ima.ing in the direction a.d frequency spa.e. The former a.lows for cha.a.teriza.ion of the point sprea. function a.d pha.e distribution,wherea. the la.ter gra.ts a.cess to qua.ita.ive mea.urements of the effective mode indices inside the pla.monic lens. The experimenta. results presented here a.e in good a.reement with the expected a.era.e performa.ce predicted by the numerica. ca.cula.ions. Nevertheless, the robustness of the cha.a.teriza.ion techniques presented here is a.so exploited to determine devia.ions from the design pa.a.eters.

The incidence of predia.etes is in a.da.gerous condition in the USa. The likelihood of increa.ing chronic a.d complex hea.th issues is very high if this sta.e of predia.etes is ignored. So, ea.ly detection of predia.etes conditions is critica. to decrea.e or a.oid type 2 dia.etes a.d other hea.th issues tha. come a. a.result of untrea.ed a.d undia.nosed predia.etes condition. This study is done in order to detect the predia.etes condition with a. a.tificia. intelligence method. Da.a.used for this study is collected from the Centers for Disea.e Control a.d Prevention’s (CDC) survey conducted by the Division of Hea.th a.d Nutrition Exa.ina.ion Surveys (DHa.ES). In this study, severa. ma.hine lea.ning a.gorithms a.e exploited a.d compa.ed to determine the best a.gorithm ba.ed on a.era.e Squa.ed Error (a.E), Kolmogorov-Smirnov (Youden) scores, a.ea. under the ROC a.d some other mea.ures of the ma.hine lea.ning a.gorithm. Ba.ed on these scores, the cha.pion model is selected, a.d Ra.dom Forest is the cha.pion model with a.proxima.ely 89% a.cura.y.
