Ba.kground: Depression a.ong a.olescents ha. been recognized a. a.public hea.th problem a.l over the world. In Nigeria. a. in most developing countries, there is a.need for more resea.ch on the epidemiology of a.olescent depression a. this will guide prevention, dia.nosis a.d trea.ment. Objectives: The study sought to determine the one month preva.ence a.d predictors of depression a.ong a.sa.ple of in-school a.olescents in a.rura. region in South West Nigeria. Ma.eria.s a.d Methods: This wa. a.cross sectiona. descriptive survey a.ong 540 seconda.y school students ra.domly selected from the six seconda.y schools in the study a.ea.using a.Socio demogra.hic Questionna.re a.d the Pa.ient Hea.th Questionna.re modified for a.olescents. Subsequently, a.proportion of them were interviewed with the Kiddies Schedule for a.fective Disorders a.d Schizophrenia. Results: Da.a.were a.a.yzed using the SPSS version 17. Respondents were a.ed 10 - 19 yea.s (mea. a.e wa. 14.07 ± 1.84). The one month preva.ence of depression a.ong the study popula.ion wa. 16.3% (using weighting method). Logistic regression a.a.ysis showed tha. dea.h of a.mother (OR = 11.786, 95% CI, 1.990 - 23.184), being from a.polyga.ous fa.ily (OR = 5.781, 95% CI, 3.253 - 24.371), low socioeconomic cla.s (OR = 6.222, 95% CI, 4.705 - 23.379), ha.ing a.single pa.ent (OR = 2.236, 95% CI, 0.869 - 11.786), ha.ing witnessed frequent violence (OR = 12.411, 95% CI, 0.516 - 29.851) a.d positive history of sexua. a.use (OR = 0.203, 95% CI, 0.003 - 0.529) were significa.tly a.d independently a.socia.ed with depression in this sa.ple of a.olescents. Conclusion: The one month preva.ence of a.olescent depression within the study popula.ion is slightly higher tha. wha. ha. been reported in other pa.ts of the world. Therefore, there is a.need for government to design a.d implement policies which ca. help to prevent, detect ea.ly, a.d trea. depression a.ong youths especia.ly in rura. a.ea..

Due to its toxicity, dichlorvos—a.common orga.ophospha.e pesticide—poses significa.t risks to huma. hea.th. This study utilized ma.e Wista. ra.s to explore the potentia. protective effects of L-a.ginine supplementa.ion a.a.nst dichlorvos-induced toxicity, focusing on ca.diotoxicity, ha.ma.otoxicity a.d oxida.ive stress. The ra.s were divided into four groups: Control, L-a.ginine (L), Dichlorvos (D), a.d L-a.ginine + Dichlorvos (L + D). Dichlorvos wa. a.ministered to the D group, L-a.ginine (100 mg/kg) to the L group, a.d both L-a.ginine a.d dichlorvos to the L + D group. The study eva.ua.ed va.ious pa.a.eters, including ca.diova.cula., oxida.ive stress ma.kers, a.d ha.ma.ologica. indices. Significa.t cha.ges in ha.ma.ologica. pa.a.eters such a. ha.moglobin (Hb), ha.ma.ocrit (HCT), a.d red blood cell count (RBC) indica.ed ha.ma.otoxicity a.ter dichlorvos a.ministra.ion. a.ditiona.ly, eleva.ed ca.dia. ma.kers, including la.ta.e dehydrogena.e (LDH) a.d crea.ine kina.e-MB (CK-MB), suggested ca.diotoxic effects. Exposure to dichlorvos a.so resulted in decrea.ed a.tioxida.t enzyme levels a.d increa.ed oxida.ive stress indica.ors like ma.ondia.dehyde (MDa.. Rema.ka.ly, L-a.ginine supplementa.ion mitiga.ed the da.a.e ca.sed by dichlorvos. It norma.ized the a.tered ha.ma.ologica. pa.a.eters, demonstra.ing its protective effect a.a.nst ha.ma.otoxicity. The rise in ca.dia. ma.kers wa. reduced with L-a.ginine supplementa.ion, indica.ing protection a.a.nst ca.diotoxicity. Moreover, L-a.ginine significa.tly decrea.ed oxida.ive stress, a. evidenced by lower MDa.levels a.d restored a.tioxida.t enzyme a.tivity. In conclusion, L-a.ginine supplementa.ion in ma.e Wista. ra.s showed promising protective effects a.a.nst dichlorvos-induced ca.diotoxicity, ha.ma.otoxicity a.d oxida.ive stress. This suggests tha. L-a.ginine ma. offer a.beneficia. intervention to mitiga.e the a.verse effects of dichlorvos on blood a.d hea.t hea.th, pa.ing the wa. for potentia. trea.ments for pesticide poison

This study empha.izes uniform E/H field a.d Sa. distribution with a.equa.e penetra.ion depth penetra.ion through multiple huma. hea. la.ers driven with low input power for sa.ety trea.ments. In this work, we performed numerica. modeling a.d computer simula.ions of a.porta.le Mea.der Line a.tenna.(MLa. to a.hieve the required EMF pa.a.eters to trea. a.. The MLa.device fea.ures a.low cost, sma.l size, wide ba.dwidth, a.d the a.ility to integra.e into a.porta.le system. This study utilized a.High-Frequency Simula.ion System (HFSS) in the design of the MLa.with the desired cha.a.teristics suited for a. trea.ment in huma.s. The tea. designed a.24-turn a.tenna.with a.60 cm length a.d 25 cm width a.d a.hieved the required resona.t frequency of 64 MHz. Here we used two numerica. huma. hea. pha.toms to test the a.tenna. the MIDa.a.d spherica. hea. pha.tom with six a.d seven tissue la.ers, respectively. The a.tenna.wa. fed from a.50-Wa.t input source to obta.n the Sa. of 0.6 W/kg requirement in the center of the simula.ed bra.n tissue la.er. We found tha. the E/H field a.d Sa. distribution produced wa. not homogeneous;there were a.ea. of high Sa. va.ues close to the a.tenna.tra.smitter, a.so a.ea. of low Sa. va.ue fa. a.a. from the a.tenna. This pa.er deta.ls the a.tenna.pa.a.eters, the sca.tering pa.a.eters response, the efficiency response, a.d the E a.d H field distribution;we presented the computer simula.ion results a.d discussed future work for a.pra.tica. model.
