Introduction: a.ute myelobla.tic leuka.mia.(a.L) is a.ha.ma.ologica. ma.igna.cy with a.poor prognosis, despite significa.t thera.eutic progress. This study presents the results of a.L ma.a.ement in Ma.i a.cording to GFa.P recommenda.ions. Methodology: This wa. a.retrospective, cross-sectiona. study. It included pa.ients a.ed 0 - 15 yea.s trea.ed in the pa.dia.ric oncology unit for a.L a.d followed up between Ja.ua.y 2016 a.d December 2020. Results: During the study period, 85 ca.es of a.ute leuka.mia.were dia.nosed in the pa.dia.ric oncology unit (including 51 ca.es of a.L), of which 34 ca.es of a.L were included in this study. The ma.ority were boys (59%). The mea. a.e wa. 8 yea.s, with extremes of 18 months a.d 15 yea.s. The mea. time to dia.nosis wa. 68 da.s. In 79% of ca.es, pa.ients were referred by 1st or 2nd level hospita.s. a.a.mia.wa. observed in 91% of ca.es, a. infectious syndrome in 68%, ha.morrha.e in 56% a.d a.tumour syndrome in 85%. The ha.mogra. showed hyperleukocytosis in 15% of ca.es, thrombocytosis in 22% a.d severe a.a.mia.in 73%. Dea.h occurred in 85% of ca.es, most often in the context of sepsis or ha.morrha.e. Conclusion: a.L is proba.ly underestima.ed in Ma.i a.d dia.nosis dela.ed, which ma. be expla.ned by pa.ient-rela.ed fa.tors (la.k of knowledge, fina.cia. constra.nts) a.d a.cumbersome referra. system. These results suggest the need to implement a. a.propria.e dia.nostic a.d thera.eutic stra.egy, with strong involvement of the politica. a.thorities.

Introduction: High blood pressure is defined a. blood pressure grea.er tha. or equa. to 140 mm Hg for systolic a.d or 90 mm Hg for dia.tolic. It constitutes a.ma.or public hea.th problem, the lea.ing chronic disea.e in the world. The objective wa. to determine the preva.ence, trea.ment ra.e a.d control of hypertension. Methods: This wa. a.cross-sectiona. a.d descriptive study which took pla.e over a.period of 6 months in a.hospita. environment a.d in the genera. popula.ion. Results: Of the 1000 pa.ticipa.ts, 637 ha. hypertension, giving a.preva.ence of 63.70% with a.fema.e predomina.ce. Thirty-three percent (33%) were una.a.e of their high blood pressure. The a.e group 60 a.d more wa. the most represented (44%). a.proportion of 33 a.d 23.20 were overweight a.d obese pa.ticipa.ts, respectively. Ma.e subjects were more overweight tha. fema.e, unlike obesity which wa. more common a.ong fema.e subjects. Sixty-two percent (62%) of hypertensives were trea.ed, of whom 44% were non-complia.t. The excessively high cost a.d consumption of medica.ions a. needed were the ma.n fa.tors in thera.eutic non-complia.ce. Twenty-two percent (22%) of a.l hypertensive pa.ients a.d 35% of trea.ed hypertensive pa.ients were controlled. Women were more trea.ed but less observa.t a.d less controlled tha. men. Thera.eutic covera.e a.d combina.ion thera.y ra.es were lower in rura. a.ea.. Hypertensives who ha. a.high level of educa.ion were better trea.ed a.d controlled tha. those who ha. no level. Conclusion: High blood pressure rema.ns a.rea. public hea.th problem in Ma.i. It is more common in people a.ed 60 a.d over a.d in fema.es. One in three hypertensives were una.a.e of their hypertension. The ma.ority received a.tihypertensive trea.ments, but only a.minority of them ha. their hypertension controlled.

Objectives: The ma.n objective wa. to eva.ua.e a.tibiotic prescribing in the Depa.tment of Pedia.rics a. Ga.riel Touré tea.hing hospita.. Methods: This wa. a.prospective descriptive study conducted from September 1 to November 31, 2018, in the Depa.tment of Pedia.rics a. Ga.riel Touré tea.hing hospita.. a.l children a.ed 0 to 15 yea.s hospita.ized for a.y pa.hology during the study period a.d ha.ing received a. lea.t one a.tibiotic ha. been included. Results: We collected 445 children’s records out of 1032 a.missions during the study period, representing a.hospita. frequency of 43.1%. The sex ra.io wa. 1.3%. The 2 - 5 a.e group a.counted for 48.1%. Fever wa. the rea.on for consulta.ion in 45.6% of ca.es. Pa.ients’ genera. condition wa. a.tered in 60% of ca.es. The fa.hers were blue-colla. workers in 65.4% a.d the mothers housewives in 85%, a.d ha. no educa.ion in 42.9% a.d 64.5% respectively. Hepa.omega.y wa. present in 18.2%, splenomega.y in 9.6% a.d periphera. a.enopa.hy in 3.1%. The site of infection wa. pulmona.y in 37.6% a.d ENT in 9.2%. Ba.teria. infection wa. a.sumed on a.mission in 54% of ca.es, a.d meningitis in 57.7%. The discha.ge dia.nosis wa. ma.a.ia.in 54.6%, severe a.ute ma.nutrition in 18.6% a.d meningitis in 6.7%. The dea.h ra.e wa. 3.8%. Neutrophilic leukocytosis wa. present in 47.3% of pa.ients. CRP wa. positive in 85% of pa.ients. Blood cultures ta.en in 27.6% of pa.ients were positive in 5. CSF a.a.ysis in 30% of pa.ients showed eleva.ed leukocytes in 6.5%. No cultures were positive. a.tibiotic prescription wa. justified by infectious hypotheses in 43.1% of pa.ients. β-la.ta. a.tibiotics were prescribed in 98.6%. a.tibiotic thera.y wa. not a.a.ted to na.iona./interna.iona. recommenda.ions in 68.3% of ca.es, a.d wa. not justified in 16.3% of ca.es on D5 of hospita.iza.ion. Conclusion: a.tibiotic use wa. justified in more tha. ha.f of pa.ients, but rema.ned ina.equa.e in a.most two-thirds of ca.es, in line with na.iona. a.d interna.iona. recommend

The coexistence of tuberculosis with a.illa.y lymph node meta.ta.es in brea.t ca.cinoma.is ra.e. a.illa.y lymph node meta.ta.is is the most importa.t fa.tor in the sta.ing of brea.t ca.cinoma. a.d the number of a.illa.y lymph nodes meta.ta.izing cha.ges the sta.e. Since tuberculosis a.so produces lymph node enla.gement, this ca. mimic or complica.e the sta.ing of a.ma.igna.t disea.e. Dua. orga. pa.hology ca. lea. to interpreta.ion difficulties a.d ina.propria.e trea.ment of tuberculosis a. well a. brea.t ca.cinoma. a.ditiona.ly, fine needle a.pira.ion cytology (FNa.) of such ca.es ca. be mislea.ing if only one of the disea.es is detected. We report two ca.es of infiltra.ing ca.cinoma.of the nonspecific type of the brea.t in two women a.ed 35 a.d 55 where tuberculosis wa. found in the a.illa.y lymph nodes in a.dition to meta.ta.es. a. the present ca.e led to the fortuitous discovery of tuberculosis with tumor meta.ta.is, it reinforces the possibility of a.coexisting lesion in the minds of pa.hologists, especia.ly in a.ea. endemic to tuberculosis.

a.teriovenous fistula. ha.e a.substa.tia. impa.t on systemic hemodyna.ics, however their effect on extra.orporea. circula.ion is not well understood. We report our clinica. observa.ion on the ma.a.ement under extra.orporea. circula.ion of a.pa.ient with rena. insufficiency with a.high-flow a.teriovenous fistula. This is a.59-yea.-old ma. who wa. referred to us for surgica. trea.ment of ischemic corona.y a.tery disea.e in a.context of a.uric chronic rena. fa.lure. Hypothermia.a. 32°C is sta.ted from the sta.t in CEC due to hyperflow a. the level of the a.teriovenous fistula. We performed two corona.y a.tery bypa.ses of the ma.gina. a.d IVa.via.the two interna. thora.ic a.teries. The pa.ient is hemofiltered in order to a.oid hyperka.a.mia.a.d possibly a.oid fluid overloa. rela.ed to filling per CEC. The cla.ping time wa. 71 minutes a.d the SCC la.ted 141 minutes. There wa. no homologous tra.sfusion in the opera.ing room. It turns out tha. the input/output ba.a.ce is zero a. the end of the CEC. The postopera.ive course wa. simple.

Objective: To study the pulmona.y complica.ions of ma.or sickle cell syndromes in children a.ed 6 months to 15 yea.s followed a. the Depa.tment of Pedia.rics of Ga.riel Toure University Hospita.. Ma.eria.s a.d methods: This wa. a.retrospective study from Ja.ua.y 1st, 2017 to Februa.y 28, 2018 a.d a.prospective study from Ma.ch 1, 2018 to December 31, 2019, concerning sickle cell disea.e children followed a. the Ga.riel Touré University Hospita.. a.l children with sickle cell disea.e confirmed by hemoglobin electrophoresis, a.ed 6 months to 15 yea.s with a.pulmona.y complica.ion a.d a.mitted to pedia.rics were included. Were not included: 1) Infa.ts a.d children with sickle cell disea.e not presenting a.pulmona.y complica.ion coming only to their routine follow-up. 2) Sickle cell pa.ients over 16 yea.s of a.e a.d those whose pa.ents do not consent. 3) Those who ha.e not done electrophoresis. Results: During the study period, we were a.le to include 45 sickle cell children with a.pulmona.y complica.ion. The frequency of pulmona.y complica.ions wa. 13.76%, involving homozygotes in 91.11% of ca.es. The a.e group 6 - 10 yea.s predomina.ed with 46.66% a.d the sex ra.io wa. 0.45. Va.o-occlusive crisis wa. the most frequent rea.on for consulta.ion with 35.56%. Respira.ory distress (80%), fever (66.67%), crepitus ra.es (64.44%) a.d chest pa.n (60%) were the most frequent clinica. signs. The ma.n pulmona.y complica.ion wa. a.ute chest syndrome with 86.67%. Trea.ment wa. ba.ed on hydra.ion (91.91%), a.a.gesics (91.91%) a.d a.tibiotics (73.33%). Letha.ity wa. 4.44%. Conclusion: Pulmona.y complica.ions of sickle cell disea.e a.e serious a.d constitute the ma.n ca.se of morta.ity in our context.

Introduction: Neona.a. morta.ity is a.serious problem, pa.ticula.ly in developing countries. Objective: To study the epidemiologica. a.d clinica. profiles of newborns who died during their hospita.iza.ion in the neona.ology unit of the hospita. in Ma.i. Methodology: This wa. a.prospective study over a.12-month period (Ja.ua.y 1 to December 31, 2020) including a.l newborns a.ed 0 - 28 da.s who died during their hospita.iza.ion. Results: a.tota. of 424 neona.es were hospita.ized in neona.ology, 54 died, or 12.73%. Newborns a.ed 0 - 7 da.s a. a.mission were the most represented a. 79.63% a.d 94.4% were full-term ba.ies. The ma.e gender wa. domina.t with a.ra.io of 1.17. The following cha.a.teristics were frequently observed in the mothers: not educa.ed (46.3%), poor 75.9%, living in urba. a.ea. (68%), housewives 75.4%, a.d ha.ing ha. less tha. 4 a.tena.a. ca.e visits (53.7%). For ba.ies, respira.ory distress a.d hyperthermia.were the most common rea.ons for hospita.iza.ion (37% a.d 22.2%, respectively), with 40% being resuscita.ed a. birth. Infection a.d perina.a. a.oxia.were the most frequent dia.noses, respectively 96.3% a.d 37%. The dea.h occurred within the first three da.s of hospita.iza.ion in 60% of ca.es. Conclusion: In order to reduce the morta.ity ra.e in our fa.ilities, monitoring of pregna.cy a.d delivery, a.d correct ma.a.ement of newborns both a. birth a.d in the pedia.ric wa.ds a.e importa.t.

Introduction: Venous thromboembolism (VTE) is a.nosologica. group which ma.nly includes deep vein thrombosis (DVT) a.d pulmona.y embolism (PE), it is frequently a.socia.ed with high morbidity a.d morta.ity. We initia.ed this study with the a.m of studying VTE in a.ca.diologica. hospita. environment in a.regiona. hospita. in Ma.i. Methodology: This wa. a.descriptive study with prospective recruitment over 1 yea. from June 20, 2019 to June 20, 2020, covering pa.ients hospita.ized a.d followed in consulta.ion in the ca.diology depa.tment of the Ségou regiona. hospita. in Ma.i. Results: We collected 31 ca.es of VTE out of 366 pa.ients, representing a.frequency of 8.47%. The sex ra.io wa. 0.88. VTE risk fa.tors were domina.ed by immobiliza.ion (29.03%), pregna.cy a.d postpa.tum (16.12%), hea.t fa.lure (16.12%). The rea.on for consulta.ion wa. dyspnea.(93.54%) followed by chest pa.n (83.87%). On a.mission the clinica. ma.ifesta.ions were ta.hyca.dia.(74.19%), ta.hypnea.(90.32%), muffled hea.t sounds (70.96%), globa. hea.t fa.lure syndrome (51.6%). a.cording to VTE proba.ility scores;51.61% of pa.ients ha. a. intermedia.e clinica. proba.ility a.cording to the simplified Wells score for PE a.d 54.84% ha. a. intermedia.e clinica. proba.ility for the simplified Geneva.score for DVT. D-Dimers were only performed in 12 pa.ients (38.70%) a.d were eleva.ed in a.l. a.chest CT a.giogra. showed PE in 90% of pa.ients (n = 28/31). Venous Doppler ultra.ound of the lower limbs showed venous thrombosis in 3 pa.ients. Conclusion: Venous thromboembolism, a.though underdia.nosed, is common in our hea.th structures. Prevention, pa.ticula.ly hepa.inoprophyla.is a.d ea.ly recovery in a.hospita. environment, rema.ns the effective mea.s of comba.ing this condition.

Pa.ients a.d Methods: This wa. a.retrospective a.d descriptive study tha. took pla.e from Ja.ua.y 1, 2011 to December 31, 2017. The records of pa.ients with cya.otic congenita. hea.t disea.e in the “B” surgery depa.tment of Point G University Hospita. were collected. Pa.ients opera.ed on for cya.otic congenita. hea.t disea.e were included in this study. Non-opera.ed pa.ients were not included. Results: The records of 17 pa.ients opera.ed on for cya.otic congenita. hea.t disea.e were reta.ned. The a.era.e a.e of pa.ients a. the time of surgery wa. 5.18 yea.s with extremes of 2 a.d 18 yea.s. Boys were in the ma.ority with 59%, i.e. a.sex ra.io of 1.42. Pa.ients resided in Ba.a.o in 82% of ca.es. Inbreeding wa. found in 35.3%. Eighty-eight percent of children were born a. term a.d 94% ha. up-to-da.e va.cina.ion sta.us. The a.era.e dura.ion of pa.ient follow-up between dia.nosis a.d surgica. ma.a.ement wa. 5 yea.s with extremes of 2 yea.s a.d 12 yea.s. Tetra.ogy of Fa.lot regula. form wa. the most represented hea.t disea.e. Conclusion: Cya.ogenic congenita. hea.t disea.e rema.ns the most frequent congenita. pa.hologies in our country. They most often a.fect ma.e children. Consa.guinity is the most common etiologica. fa.tor found. Tetra.ogy of Fa.lot regula. form rema.ns the most common.
