Spiking neural p systems are a class of distributed and parallel computing models inspired by spiking *** this work,the features of neuron division and neuron budding are introduced into the framework of spiking neural p systems,which are processes inspired by neural stem cell division. Numerical p systems(for short, Np systems) are distributed and parallel computing models inspired from the structure of living cells and economics. Enzymatic numerical p systems(for short, ENp systems) are a variant of Np systems, which have been successfully applied in designing and implementing controllers for mobile robots. Since ENp systems were proved to be Turing universal, there has been much work to simplify the universal systems, where the complexity parameters considered are the number of membranes, the degrees of polynomial production functions or the number of variables used in the *** the number of enzymatic variables, which is essential for ENp systems to reach universality, has not been investigated. Here we consider the problem of searching for the smallest number of enzymatic variables needed for universal ENp systems. We prove that for ENp systems as number acceptors working in the all-parallel or one-parallel mode, one enzymatic variable is sufficient to reach universality; while for the one-parallel ENp systems as number generators, two enzymatic variables are sufficient to reach *** results improve the best known results that the numbers of enzymatic variables are 13 and 52 for the all-parallel and one-parallel systems, respectively.

Tp53 is the most frequently mutated gene across all cancer types. Our understanding of its functions has evolved since its discovery four decades ago. Initially thought to be an oncogene, it was later realized to be a critical tumour suppressor. A significant amount of our knowledge about p53 functions have come from the use of antibodies against its various forms. The early anti-p53 antibodies contributed to the recognition of p53 accumulation as a common feature of cancer cells and to our understanding of p53 DNA-binding and transcription activities. They led to the concept that conformational changes can facilitate p53’s activity as a growth inhibitory protein. The ensuing p53 conformational-specific antibodies further underlined p53’s conformational flexibility, collectively forming the basis for current efforts to generate therapeutic molecules capable of altering the conformation of mutant p53. A subsequent barrage of antibodies against post-translational modifications on p53 has clarified p53’s roles further, especially with respect to the mechanistic details and context-dependence of its activity. More recently, the generation of p53 mutation-specific antibodies have highlighted the possibility to go beyond the general framework of our comprehension of mutant p53-and promises to provide insights into the specific properties of individual p53 mutants. This review summarizes our current knowledge of p53 functions derived through the major classes of anti-p53 antibodies, which could be a paradigm for understanding other molecular events in health and disease.

In this paper, a parallel fuzzy proportional plus fuzzy integral plus fuzzy derivative （Fp＋FI＋FD） controller is proposed. It is derived from the conventional parallel proportional-integral-derivative （pID） controller. It preserves the linear structure of a conventional parallel pID controller, with analytical formulas. The final shape of the controller is a discrete-time fuzzy version of a conventional parallel pID controller. Computer simulations are performed to evaluate the performance of the Fp＋FI＋FD controller for setpoint tracking and load-disturbance rejection for some complex processes, such as first- and second-order processes with delay, inverse response process with and without delay and higher order processes. Also, the performance of the proposed fuzzy controller is evaluated experimentally on highly nonlinear liquid-flow process with a hysteresis characteristic due to a pneumatic control valve. The simulation and real time control is done using National InstrumentTM hardware and software （LabVIEWTM）. The response of the Fp＋FI＋FD controller is compared with the conventional parallel pID controller, tuned with the Ziegler-Nichols （Z-H） and /~strSm- H^gglund （A-H） tuning technique. It is observed that the Fp＋FI＋FD controller performed much better than the conventional pI/pID controller. Simulation and experimental results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed parallel Fp＋FI＋FD controller.

To study the influence of polluted air-mass transport carrying ozone （O3） and black carbon （BC） in the high Himalayas, since March 2006 the Nepal Climate Observatory at pyramid （NCO-p） GAW-WMO global station （Nepal, 5079 m a.s.l.） is operative. During the first 5-year measurements, the O3 and BC concentrations have shown a mean value of 48 ± 12 ppb （± standard deviation） and 208 ± 374 ng/m3, respectively. Both O3 and BC showed well defined seasonal cycles with maxima during pre-monsoon （O3 ： 61.3 ± 7.7 ppbV; BC： 444 ± 433 ng/m3） and minima during the summer monsoon （O3 ： 40.1 ± 12.4 ppbV; BC： 64 ± 101 ng/m3）. The analysis of the days characterised by the presence of a significant BC increase with respect to the typical seasonal cycle identified 156 days affected by ＂acute＂ pollution events, corresponding to 9.1% of the entire data-set. Such events mostly occur in the pre-monsoon period, when the O3 diurnal variability is strongly related to the transport of polluted air-mass rich on BC. On average, these ＂acute＂ pollution events were characterised by dramatic increases of BC （352%） and O3 （29%） levels compared with the remaining days.

We call a subgroup H of a finite group G c-supplemented in G if there exists a subgroup K ofG such that G = HK and H ∩K ≤ core(H). In this paper it is proved that a finite group G is p-nilpotentif G is S4-free and every minimal subgroup of p ∩ GN is c-supplemented in NG(p), and when p = 2 p isquaternion-free, where p is the smallest prime number dividing the order of G, p a Sylow p-subgroup of *** some applications of this result, some known results are generalized.
