To unforced nonlinear systems, based on the state equation of control systems, the definition of state space transition is given. First of all, the state space transition of the system is obtained by utilizing the solution of related linear homogeneous equation;then based on the differential equation in series forms, the state space transition of the state equation of the unforced nonlinear system is given by heuristic method. The method in this paper can be used to the design of nonlinear control systems.

EST-Based Identification of Genes Expressed in Skeletal Muscle of the Mandarin Fish (Siniperca chuatsi)

To enrich the genomic information of the commercially important fish species, we obtained 5,063 high-quality expressed sequence tags (ESTs) from the muscle cDNA database of the mandarin fish (Siniperca chuatsi). Clustering analysis yielded 1,625 unique sequences including 443 contigs (from 3,881 EST sequences) and 1,182 sin- gletons. BLASTX searches showed that 959 unique sequences shared homology to proteins in the NCBI non-redundant database. A total of 740 unique sequences were functionally annotated using Gene Ontology. The 1,625 unique sequences were assigned to Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes reference pathways, and the results indicated that transcripts participating in nucleotide metabolism and amino acid metabolism are relatively abundant in S. chuatsi. Meanwhile, we identified 15 genes to be abundantly expressed in muscle of the mandarin fish. These genes are involved in muscle structural formation and regulation of muscle differentiation and development. The most remarkable gene in S. chuatsi is nuclease diphosphate kinase B, which is represented by 449 EST sequences accounting for 8.86% of the total EST sequences. Our work provides a transcript profile expressed in the white muscle of the mandarin fish, laying down a foundation in better understanding of fish genomics.

To understand the biological functions of a kind of DNA-binding proteins containing the WRKY domain, ten WRKY genes in rice (Oryza saliva L. cv. Guangluai) were isolated based on the sequences by bioinformatic prediction. One of them, Os-WRKY03, in phylogenetic tree, is closest to AtWRKY29/22, which is activated by MAP kinase signaling cascade and confers resistance to both bacterial and fungal pathogens in Arabidopsis. Northern blot analysis showed that OsWRKY03 was up-regulated by several defense signaling molecules, such as benzo (1, 2, 3) thiadiazole-7-carbothioic acid S-methyl ester (BTH), emthyl jasmonate (MeJA), 1-aminocyclo-propane-l-carboxylic acid (ACC), wounding as well as pathogen infection, suggesting that OsWRKY03 is possibly involved in plant defense response. Transient expression of OsWRKY03-GFP fusion protein in onion epidermis cells showed that OsWRKY03 protein was localized in the nucleus and yeast assay revealed that it had transcriptional activation activity. To elucidate its regulatory mechanisms in defense signaling pathways, OsWRKY03 -overexpressing transgenic rice was generated and Northern blot analysis revealed OsNPRl gene was induced in OsWRKY03 -overexpressing plants. Further analysis demonstrated that several pathogenesis-relateci genes, such as OsPRlb, phenylalanine ammona-lyase (ZB8) and per-oxidase (POX22.3) genes were also induced in OsWRKY03-overexpressing plants. These results indicate that OsWRKY03 was located upstream of OsNPRl and functions as a transcriptional activator in salicylic acid (SA)-dependent or jasmonic acid (JA)-dependent defense signaling pathways.

Isolation and characterization of rice lesion mimic mutants from a T-DNA tagged population

A rice (Oryza sativa L. ssp. japonica cv. Nipponbare) T-DNA tagged population consisting of about 7000 individual lines was generated and screened for rice lesion mimic mutants in the T 1 generation. Ten lines were found to develop spontaneous lesions in the absence of pathogen infection and displayed distinct lesion phenotypes. These mutants were tentatively designated as lm1—lm10 (for lesion mimic), respectively. Lesion formation of lm mutants was developmentally regulated, and all the mutants showed stunted growth and reduced fertility. Genetic analysis demonstrated that all the mutations were recessive, and five partially fertile mutants (lm4—lm8) were derived from different loci. Mimic lesions occurring on the leaves of lm mutants resulted from cell death as revealed by trypan blue staining. Six of them (lm3—lm8) exhibited enhanced resistance to five bacterial blight isolates, indicating their wide-spectrum resistance to this pathogen. These results imply that some lesion mimic mutations of rice might be involved in disease resistance signaling pathways, and that isolation of these mutated genes may be useful for elucidating molecular mechanisms of plant disease resistance. Among the mutants, only one mutant, lm6, was preliminarily shown to cosegregate with the inserted T-DNA in its T 1 generation, making it feasible to isolate the gene responsible for the phenotype of this mutant.

＜正＞Brown adipose tissue（BAT） is a specialized tissue that can dissipate energy through the uncoupling effect of UCP1 and therefore is a therapeutic target to counteract obesity-associated *** identify genes activating the nonshivering thermogenesis of BAT,we performed RNA-Seq of mRNA samples collected from the BAT of cold-exposed mice（24h）（Bat-cold） and of mice kept at room temperature （Bat-normal） using next-generation sequencing technology（SOLID,Life Technologies）.We generated more than 2xl07 uniq-mapped tags for each sample;these tags were annotated to 15471 Bat-cold genes and 15202 Bat-normal genes based on mouse Ensembl *** identified 846 differentially expressed genes（q-value＜0.001,FC＞2,and absolute change＞50） by DEGseq program and found that 588 genes were down-regulated and 258 were up-regulated during cold *** up-regulated genes were over-represented in the Cholesterol Biosynthesis pathway and the Fatty Acid Biosynthesis pathway and the down-regulated genes were over-represented in the Apoptosis *** also considered genes expressed in intergenic regions of the mouse genome and identified about 5000 fragments in each *** results provide molecular evidence for the theory that during acute cold exposure the number of brown adipocytes increases through promoting proliferation and preventing apoptosis.
