Three short geomagnetic excursions, the Go thenburg, Mono Lake and Mungo (or Maelifell) in the Brunhes Positive Polarity period, were revealed based on the studies of magnetostratigraphy, susceptibility (c) and d 18O of sediments in core WP 92-5 from the central temperature area of the Western Pacific Warm Pool (WPWP), and the ages of them are 12.111.3 kaBP, 25.024.0 kaBP, and 31.028.0 kaBP respectively. Furthermore, the Younger Dryas (YD) and Heinrich (H) cold events were also discov- ered in this core by the susceptibility record. The YD cold event occurred at the depth of 3022 cm with an age of 11.510.6 kaBP; H1, H2 and H3 cold events occurred at depths of 5139 cm, 10891 cm and 14.126 cm with ages of 15.113.0 kaBP, 25.022.1 kaBP and 30.628.2 kaBP respectively, which well correspond to the H1, H2, H3 events recorded by susceptibility of core SU90-09 from middle At- lantic, indicating that the susceptibility change of marine sediments can be an important sign of climatic frequent fluc- tuations.

光伏发电系统的不稳定性严重影响储能系统的使用寿命。文章基于扩展卡尔曼滤波(Extended Kalman Filter,EKF)实现超级电容的荷电状态(State of Charge,SOC)估算,并根据光伏输出的实时功率和超级电容的SOC,提出一种新型可控拓扑结构,实现超级电容与蓄电池的混合储能,减缓了蓄电池充电电压突变的影响。在MATLAB/Simulink中搭建仿真模型,结果表明,在混合储能策略下,EKF估算SOC的误差在4.以内,明显抑制了蓄电池输入端电压的波动,可有效降低光伏输出不稳定性对蓄电池使用寿命的影响。

Cryo-electron microscopy and image reconstruction were used to determine the three-dimensional structure of Infectious flacherie virus (IFV). 504. particles were selected for the final reconstruction. The FSC curve showed that the resolution of this capsid structure was 18 ·. The structure is a psuedo T=3 (P=3) icosahedral capsid with a diameter of 302.4.· and a single shell thickness of 15 ·. The density map showed that IFV has a smooth surface without any prominent protrude or depression. Comparison of the IFV structure with those of the insect picorna-like virus-Cricket paralysis virus (CrPV)and human picornavirus-Human rhinovirus 14.(HRV 14. revealed that the IFV structure resembles the CrPV structure. The "Rossmann canyon" is absent in both IFV and CrPV particles. The polypeptide topology of IFV VP2, IFV VP3 was predicted and the subunit location at the capsid surface was further analyzed.

Aim: To clone the pollen allergen genes in Humulus scandens (Lour) Merr (LuCao in chinese) and short ragweed (Ambrosia artemisiifolia L) for recombinant allergen production and immunotherapy. Methods: The allergen genes were selectively amplified in the weed pollen cDNA pool by using a special PCR profile, with the primers designed by a modeling procedure. Following truncated gene cloning and confirmation of the pollen source, unknown 3’cDNA ends were identified by using the 3’-RACE method. The gene function conferred by the full-length coding region was evaluated by a homologue search in the GenBank database. Recombinant proteins expressed in Escherichia coli pET-4. RosettaBlue cells were subsequently characterized by N-terminal end sequencing, IgE binding, and crossreactivity. Results: Three full-length cDNAs were obtained in each weed. Multiple alignment analysis revealed that the deduced amino acid sequences were 83% identical to each other and 56%-90% identical to panallergen profilins from other species. Five recombinant proteins were abundantly expressed in nonfusion forms and were confirmed by using the N-terminal end sequence identity. Sera from patients who were allergic to A artemisiifolia reacted not only with rAmb a 8(D03) derived from A artemisiifolia, but also with recombinant protein rHum s 1(LCM9) derived from H scandens, which confirmed the allergenicity and cross-reactivity of the recombinant proteins from the 2 sources. Comparison of the degenerate primers used for truncated gene cloning with the full-length cDNA demonstrated that alternative nucleotide degeneracy occurred. Conclusion: This study demonstrates a useful method for cloning homologous allergen genes across different species, particularly for little-studied species. The recombinant allergens obtained might be useful for the immunotherapeutic treatment of H scandens and/or A artemisiifolia pollen allergies.

The compositions and contents of astaxanthin esters and fatty acids in four types of Haematococcus pluvialis cells were studied by HPLC and GC-MS. Results showed that the synthesis and accumulation of astaxanthin was independent of the formation of cysts, but was highly correlated with the synthesis and accumulation of fatty acids, though it is an well known phenomenon that the accumulation of astaxanthin is usually accompanied by the formation of cyst. The red cysts contain more than 30% of fatty acids, with 81% of the unsaturated fatty acids. Taken together, besides a resource of astaxanthin, H. pluvialis would be a good resource of valuable fatty acids.

The contributions of persistent organic pollutants （POPs） from the subtropical regions of China to pollution of the global environment have been paid great attention; however, little is known about the state of POPs in agricultural ecosystems within these regions of China. This study primarily revealed the state of the contamination and distribution of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons （PAH） in agricultural soils in the subtropical regions. 115 surface soils （0-20 cm） were sampled in the breadbaskets of these regions. The concentrations and types of PAH were determined using gas chromatography linked to mass spectrometry （GC-MS）. The total PAH concentrations ranged from 22.1 to 1 256.9 ng g^-1 with a mean of 318.2 ± 14..2 ng g^-1. In general terms, the current PAH concentrations were lower than most PAH levels reported in a number of investigations from different countries and regions. PAH isomer ratios indicated that pyrolytic origins, such as fossil fuel combustion related to vehicle tail gas and industrial emissions, were the dominant sources of PAH in the southern subtropical areas of China. Although PAH concentrations decreased with decreasing pollution, population, and traffic density, to a great extent PAH compositions were similar throughout subtropical soils, with naphthalene, phenanthrene, fluoranthene, and benzo（b）fluoranthene being dominant.

During the observation of HCFC14.b gas hydrate growth processes outside a ver- tical heat transfer tube, two exciting phenomena were found: fast nucleation of gas hydrate from melting ice, and the spontaneous permeation of water into the guest phases along the surface of heat transfer tube to form gas hydrate continuously. These two phenomena were explained with Zhou & Sloan’s hypothesis and the theory of surface free energy respectively, and a novel method of gas hydrate formation was presented——gas hydrate fast nucleation from melting ice and quiescent growth along heat transfer tube. There is no mechanic stirring in this method, the formed gas hydrates are compact, the ratio of unreacted interstitial water is little, which overcome the drawback of high energy cost and high ratio of unreacted interstitial water among the formed gas hydrates in the system with mechanic stirring. This finding will benefit the gas hydrate ap- plication technologies such as natural gas storage technology or cool storage technology with gas hydrate.

The upper ocean currents in the Pacific Ocean are calculated by using an ocean model with higher horizontal resolution. The large current systems in the Pacific Ocean, such as Kuroshio, Oyashio, NEC, SEC, NECC,Califomia Current and East Australia Current, are well simulated. This paper only gives the numerical simulation results of the upper ocean currents of the representative months in four seasons in the South China Sea (SCS). It showsthat the SCS branch of Kuroshio is the most important current in the northem SCS and it is not only the water resourceof the SCS warm current but also a significant part of the overall SCS circulation. There is a relatively strong northeastward flow entering the SCS through the Taiwan Strait throughout the year except for specific months. Some of thenumerical results have been confirmed by the observational evidences.

With wax content of 1.62%, heavy oil has been produced from the sandstone reservoirs of Neogene Guantao Formation (Ng1m). In the GC and GC-MS RIC profiles of its aliphatic fraction, n-alkanes are totally lost, which shows the result of heavy biodegradedation. However, the remaining trace C13-C36 n-alkanes can be still seen from its mlz 85 mass chromatogram. In addition, a complete series of C35-C73 high molecular weight (HMW) n-alkanes was detected by high-temperature gas chromatography (HTGC). The HMW R-alkane series shows a normal distribution pattern, a major peak at nC4., obvious odd-carbon-number predominance, CPI37-55 and OEP4.-4. values up to 1.17 and 1.16-1.20 respectively. The present study not only has conformed the strong resistibility of HMW n-alkanes to biodegradation in crude oils as concluded by previous researchers, but also has provided some significant information on source input and maturity for the heavily biodegraded oil in the Qianmiqiao region.
